@Xaenus23 You cannot fight back beacuse you're scared shitless and have a highly questionable mental state, making you panic whenever stressful situations appear.

As for the things.. those in the inventory is mainly for solving puzzles, while those you visibly carry are just for redecorating, blocking or un-blockin the path. You could throw say a chair at the enemy, but that does about as much as spitting them in the face. They stagger for half a second, then rage.

@Xaenus23 Not being able to fight back improves the fear factor by a massive amount, forcing you to hide when monsters roam near you.

The game lets you pick up/push a variety of objects to help you solve puzzles (e.g. Brad picking up the cog near the end of the video) or to find hidden items. Quite often you'll find useful stuff hidden in draws and under beds, rubble, sacks, planks of wood etc...

@Xaenus23 Not being able to fight the thing coming at you is probably one of the most frightening aspects of the game; otherwise it would just be another killing monsters game that doesn't stay with you and tap into that helplessness that always accompanies fear. No being able to fight makes this game brilliant.

The things you need throughout the game are hidden and placed all over the area; you just have to be very thorough with your searches, and skilled at avoiding the monsters.

Im pretty sure that after you put the broken lever into the door as soon as you walk through it (at 8:22 in the vid) if you turn around there a lever on the other side to shut that door so the monster doesnt get you I saw it on the wall when you ran away from it to go back to the first room

I love the dark descent because it is one of the only games that can trigger a real visceral response in me, in this case fear. But justine was too cheap in that regard for my liking.

Completion of the game is not worth the effort of replaying it from the beginning, and much like the dark descent, but to a greater extent, justine puts the player through genuine emotional and psychological trauma only to reward them with... ....

Some may say that this is intentional, I say it's lazy and cruel.

I have Amnesia, But, I don't know..I kind of enjoyed the terror without the creatures behind you at every turn. Despite it not looking so terrifying watching someone else place and talk about it, but it's quite different actually being there. If I'm scared to play Amnesia, imagine Justine where there are REAL monsters EVERYWHERE. I don't get scared often, but it scares me :/
