Anyone, who could look at what a loving, thoughtful, inspiring, young woman your Dad's have raised and think that anything is "wrong" with your family, must have a heart that is cold and small. I love the NOH8 campaign, I didn't know what it was, I just thought a lot of good looking people putting a really great message out there. If they ever come close to my hometown, my family will be there.
Speaking as a mom, there isn't a gift you could have given your dads that could have meant more than the loving & heartfelt tribute you honored them with in your speech. They must be so proud when they look at you & see what an intelligent, compassionate & bright young woman you've become. I live in New York and was so happy when Gay Marriage passed here, but then people who were friends with me in high school, while I dated another girl for two and a half years, were calling it and me (for supporting it) disgusting. Parents are not defined by blood or inheritable traits (which her dad's both have), they are defined by the love, respect, joy, treasure, help, etc. they give to Chelsea each and every day. @reformedjames I have a few arguments for this. Basically what you say is your own perception of what the bible says. The bible also says that God created man in his own image...does this mean that God is in fact gay (or at least bisexual?) - this would be my interpretation of the bible. This is why I believe in science more than anything. It is based on proven facts. Is there proof that god actually exists? No didn't think so. But there is proof to show that homosexuality is NOT a choice

@wolfeye1000 -I'm a straight person who has been married to the same woman for 38 years. Yes, God began with Adam and Eve because you need a male and a female to get things started. After that there is room for a deviation from normal. Being fruitful and multiplying was OK when things were getting started but now we need to turn off the tap because the earth is getting too many people on it and scare resources are being strained to the limit.

It wasn't until the mid-19th century that it appeared in the Bible. After that there is room for a deviation from normal. Whether homosexuality is right or wrong is not really relevant to society. The truth is...by depriving two people of marrying each other...two law-abiding, decent, kind individuals are incapable of achieving their happiness. And if my 7th grade social studies teacher was right, the pursuit of happiness, when it harms no others, is true expression of our constitution. Happy long and blessed married life for your father. They are lucky to have each other, and a daughter like you.
