is the turbo grafix a 16-bit , i know the original is an 8 bit

Technically, the cpu is 8-bit, while the gpu is 16-bit. But bits don't measure a console's performance.

The Intellivision has a 16-bit cpu.

It's uses an improved version of the 8 bit 6502 CPU used in C64(6510),NES(Ricoh 2A03/07) and Atari 800 computers. It's called HuC6280 and has got some really powerful extra opcodes The GPU however is even more advanced than the Genesis counterpart in some respects(more colors)

Yeah, its really noticable when you're playing this stage and you're holding out for that mid-level shop. The shops only appear before bosses, so the 1 boss means only 1 shop.

I noticed later that the mid-level bosses are the Kamikaze Daigun (the Bullet Bill-like creatures, if you don't know what I mean), but since they are weak enemies, it wouldn't be necessary for a shop. Have you noticed that this is the only level without a mid-boss? I think this is also the only one with one Jack's Shop.
