Whatever the case, why does the cameraangle change right before the "firing" so that you can't see the entire launcher? The smoke is a bit unexplainable but it could have been easily faked too. Dosen't look like the amount of smoke that a rocket launcher would make.

The smoke is from the first of TWO rocket motors. The first is very small and just powerful enough to push the missile out of the launch tube and far enough away from the crew so that when the second, more powerful motor ignites, the crew is not burned.

They're running because the second motor could blow up on a misfire or the warhead could arm and detonate.
