Master copycats like Pritham and Anu Malik have no shame at all. Despite huge criticism about copying music , they still continue to do it. Its giving Indian music a bad name. Its actually only a handful of idiots that copy stuff, there are plenty of genuinely good composers in India. The sames the case with movies. Some are copied from Hollywood and that again gives it a bad name. Attempts to make easy money I guess. Doesn't mean Indians are all copycats , thats an ignorant statement.

k you people need to calm down, u noe whn people take someone elses work, the original owner of whtever the copied peice is, is aware of the fact that thre work is being used else whre. And the owner makes sure they get alteast 50% of the profit... im sure peterpan was notified and thre probably was some sort of agreement, so all u people who think u noe everything but dont shut up and listen to the damn song

one thing i knw... if u were to write a song, and someone else from out of country make exactly the same song.. the probability would be not even close to 10%. if they did make a miracle to write exact same song, same rhythm wth same chord progression but in different language.. it's still a crime. a copycat..then the managers of those two musicians shud meet n discuss, find out the truth.i'm indonesian, sure i'll support peterpan. im nt saying tht "kay kay" is a criminal even though he is.

Better not talk about copying. Deep Purple themselves admitted bluntly they lifted the famous riff of "Smoke on the water"...actually good that they did...otherwise nobody would know this great stuff. Nobody knows the original.. Booker T and the MG's - they copied Green Onions too...the original - forgotten and lost. So, sometimes it's good things r copied...ppl get 2 know and appreciate thm - if it were not for Pritam's copy, I'd probably never find out about the great music of Peter Pan!

I'd rather say the Indian version is inspired from the original song and has his own bit of mix. The melody's the same but different instruments & emotion, and has its own lyrics.

Dude, It's not inspired to copy a song using their exact composition. It's plagiarism and it's a crime. I'm a film maker, and a bit of a musician, It takes a long time to put together a song to perfection like what peter pan did, to have some other douche bag use that perfect formula in another country and make money out of it is a crime. That money belongs to the writer of the song, not Pritam the hack.
