  • He reminds me of the rock climbing Steve Prefontaine!

  • I wish I knew how the photographer got up there, how his ropes were all set-up, and what he was sitting on? Using a regular climbing harness to sit-on would eventually cut-off the circulation in my legs and very painful to get the circulation back into my legs.

  • Watching this my hands sweat......!

  • 4:10 this rest is not part of the route.... pussy,,

ramon julian says if u go right like sharma u arent doing 'LArambla 9a+'

ondre doing correct, but sharma do the pussy version ^^

  • @opiut can you even do the pussy route i doubt it

  • il mondo dell'ARRAMPICATA è bellissimo, quello libero da ogni pregiudizio, che si nutre esclusivamente della forza PERSONALE per respirare la libertà derivata dalla rottura del proprio limite=) sei un grande CHRIS

  • Sharma is perfection. The technique, the control, the hair make him the greatest climber to ever live.

  • waw!!

  • Chris makes that route look so easy. Simply amazing at how smooth and controlled he is. Pretty sweet.

  • Good good good video!!!

  • who is chris sharma ?

  • @Andythefunkman Omg You don't know who is Chris Sharma?

  • I love how the description says "this pretty hard route" like its just a little challenging...

  • minute 137 he stepped bolt hanger !

  • @totujm its not a bolt its just a chalky hold

  • Yeah, one upon a time an army of tiny mouses where pickpocketing our foodbag while we were climbing. :) Getting more valueable things stolen is not so funny.

  • One person got pickpocketed on La Rambla

  • AMAZING!

    Great work!

Accolades for all involved, you all are masters of your trades!

  • il est dement

  • rock shaped 4 the hand

  • he looks like a sloth

  • Crimp and don't look down.

  • oh man :( this sucks... it looks so damn easy.. well at least it sounds hard ;)

  • 3:43 what an awsome hold!

  • how do they get the camera in there?

  • that part where he was climbing was sick...

  • how good is alexander huber compared to this? I thought that he is a very good climber as well!

  • best climbing video ever!

  • ho got the hooks in the rock? a free climber with a hammer?

  • mmm bonito

  • 3.20-3.25 proves he is a beast !!!!!!

  • 3.20-3.25 proves he is a beast !!!!!!

  • Ramon Julian was the first !!!!!!!!!

  • dan osman is better

  • @slayerguitar dan osman is DEAD

  • @slayerguitar dan osman was impressive because of his solo climbing but as far as the ability to climb hard, technical, and powerful, dan osman didn't even come close to sharma. you can't even compare the two.

  • @slayerguitar Are you serious? O_o

  • This is so cool!

  • la rambla directa 9a+ solo la tiene ramonet todos los demas repetidores tienen la rambla 9a!! con escaqueo a la derecha

  • how is this man such a beast...

  • ..................bravo

  • ルートにはピトンがボルトが既にあってカラビナが垂れ下がってるでしょ。これ登っている本人よりもルート開拓者がすごいと思うけどな。

  • @annaexpress

  • dude those are some sweet finger pockets at 3:40

  • hab da mal ein anderes vid dazu gesehen - da hat man genau sehen koennen was das fuer ein runder bauch an der krux eigenlich is den er aufeh kreult : )

  • da hat es aber partiel geschneit, oder? ;-)

  • so tough

  • First ascending was made by Ramon Julian

  • No it wasn't It was made by Alex Huber.

  • beautiful. makes me want to go send something =]

  • 3:13-3:35=holy shit!

  • what's that song title?

  • Hello

First track is from Russian Globalis Orchestra.

The second track is free-of-rights GarageBand Songs.

    Best

  • @petzlcrew i totally notice that it's garage band now! i can't not pay attention to that

  • AMAZING FINGER RESISTANCE

  • Greatest climber of all time, on a beautiful route, with awesome music and amazing cinematography... freakin sick!!! Anybody know the name of the song??

  • Great climber!

  • ondra is the best climber on earth...but he doesant have the spirit that sharma has..

  • But Ondra is only 16..

  • wow

  • Forgive me, but I'm pretty new at climbing. Doesn't the fact that all these holds have chalk on them already make it easier to choose your line?

  • he actually have to follow that line , because these holds are the only way to get up there , and thus get this rating ( these holds are LA RAMBLA). Chalking up hold before helps friction too .

  • the chalk is there from his and other s previous attempts..not much you can do to prevent it other han rain to wash it off.

  • They chalk the holds to concentrate on the moves, not in search what to grab

  • chalk is there to keep your hands from sweating, the chalk itself does not improve friction. The only way up the climb is on the holds that are on the wall, because those are the only holds there.

  • Ok...thank you all for the response. I just didn't understand if the difficulty on a wall had anything to do with FINDING your holds. With the chalk already on the wall, you don't have to strategize, just grab the nearest chalk colored hold.

  • "you don't have to strategize, just grab the nearest chalk colored hold" ... ofc you have to, if not you will never !!! grab that much holds to reach the top ;) ...

  • @SomberShogun Idiot. Even the simplest routes have a specific sequence you have to work out and follow. Otherwise it makes the climbing very hard, or on this route, impossible.

  • @ixGeminixi That's why i asked you arrogant douchebag. Next time don't call me an idiot unless you're willing to give me your home address. Thanks for playing.

  • @gerardo: that "something" you are talking about is charisma. Sharma has plenty while Ondra is definately below average

  • oh yaaa sharma is better then ondra nd odra is ugly!!!

  • adam and chris are not comparable. two diff climbers.

  • adam is just what chris was

and he just taking what was there for him and working with it

  • sharma has just sometging special that makes you want to climb and see all his ascents and adam ondra dont have that

  • @hatedrivesus

pff like adam doesn't project new lines lol

  • Chris Sharma is a beast

  • 3:20 - 3:31 = SUPER GRIP

Sharma is the man, Great Climb.

    Excellent Filming as well.

  • yes SHARMA IS BETTER THEN ONDRA!!

    TO SHARMA!!

  • no way. sharma said he feels like a weekend climber next to ondra

  • I prefer chris sharma ...he is more relaxed on the rock than adam ondra ....adam ondra climbs too hectic ..but still one of the best climbers in the world

  • adam ondra's ascent was better but sharma is still my HERO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I don't really understand the last part of the video. He asks for a sling, they give him a quickdraw and then I don't really see what he does with it... Could someone explain it to me?

  • probably using it when going down and cleaning the rock from chalk, so that he stays close to rock (since it is a negative)

  • He just use it to clip next bolt.

This climb it's made only for the film.

  • I like how the info box describes the 5.15a climb as "pretty hard". How about, "pretty fuckin' impossible"?

  • right "a pretty hard route at 5.15a" how about one of the hardest in the world

  • is here somebody you knows the second song?????

  • hello

this second song is 'home made' by the director..

    all the best

  • does anyone know what redpoint means?

  • Red pointing is when you complete a route clean, without falls or hang dogging, after having tried the route, or parts of the route, before. If you red point a route, it usually means that the route is fairly challenging for you.

When you complete a route on your first attempt without any beta (knowledge of the route beforehand), it's called onsighting.

  • Nice explanation. Is flashing doing the route on your first attempt with beta?

Is it still a red point if the quickdraws are already in place?

  • Depends on where you from. The definitions vary a bit depending on region, but in general flashing a route can be with beta. Sure, completing a route with draws in place is red pointing (I'm guessing some purists would disagree, but whatever).

  • so all those little holes where his fingers would barely grasp, do they chip those out in crazy positions to make it difficult? or are those just natural and it just happens to be really difficult?

  • That is just the natural rock.

  • Natural -- as a climber you never intentionally chip or damage rock.

  • unless you're michael fuselier (american gangster 8c)

  • does someone know the title of the funky song?

  • Sharma is nuts

  • what, how is the camera right above him the entiere time

  • An incredible bit of climbing !
