  • vocaleze mang. Good for the voice, good for the health...

  • Two words.....AMERICAN IDOL

Mark.....get in line so the world can hear you!

  • @reubensrose He has too much talent for that crass show.

  • Concerned about his voice? Are you mad? Guys released 10 albums and been touring for 13 yrs. It's not like he woke up yesterday and started singing. Relax and wait for the Queen tour. :-)

  • Wow! 0:28 Brad Pitt, is that you?

  • You're right Freddie was a very intelligent man. Toward the end of his career and before he contracted AIDS he began to lose his range and projection. I don't know if he ever had his larynx examined, but had done so, I think they would have found polyps.

You are, however, missing the point. Acting lessons would enhance his stage presence, a stylist could provide him with an iconic look, and voice lessons would strengthen his voice and expand his range.

  • @vlmellody51 Freddie suffered from painful nodules in his throat since the 1970's. Surgery was an option that Freddie never considered because of the chance of losing his voice. He just suffered through it. Freddie never lost his range and he never lost his projection. Queen's last albums prove it.

Mother Love was the last song he recorded. He could barely stand up. Freddie passed away during the recording. Brian May finished the song by singing the last verse.

  • My comment had nothing to do with "being" Freddie or not it has to do with the strain he puts on his larynx every time he speaks or sings. Mr. Martel has an exceptional voice. I'd like to see him preserve it.

  • @vlmellody51 I watched a video of Marc taken a couple of days ago and his voice is starting to sound strained. He reached for his water bottle twice during one song. This concerns me because I want his voice to sound good in front of Roger. Even though Freddie never took vocal training he was a very smart man musically. He knew how to use his voice.

    Here's Freddie: watch?v=dTT1dOHgXf0

He didn't think he was good at playing the piano. This is outdoors in front of about 80,000.

  • Freddy Concert AGAIN PLEASE, he needs to sing with Queen :D

  • Mr. Martel:

I've been listening to you for the past few hours and you do have a superb voice. If you wish to keep it and enhance it, seek out the best vocal coach and the best acting coach you can find.

  • @vlmellody51 Screw vocal coaching...he's got that down. IF however he plans on "being" Freddie, dance & boxing would be key, as that played a part in his fantastic showmanship.

  • Most "great singers" in the history of great singers do not write their own songs.

  • He has his own music. Downhere writes their own songs.

  • Thank goodness he sings with a better microphone at home...

  • WHY is this guy NOT a multi grammy award winning artist headlining stadiums around the globe????

  • @HammernHeads He is a great singer, but he needs his own songs

  • @Dehumanizer1 Well, yeah. See, in order to for the premise of seeing him winning grammy awards and headlining stadiums, he would have to be selling his own music.... (duh ;)

  • @Dehumanizer1 He and his band mates do have their own songs ... like 6 albums worth ... downhere.com. You might want to check them out.

  • @Dehumanizer1 This IS one of his songs. xD Not to mention he's got 6-7 albums worth of "his own" songs. lol Marc Martel has tons of his own material.

  • @HammernHeads Could be because he is an outspoken follower of Christ. Christian artists that wear their faith on their sleeve rarely have worldwide success. But I hope his band does have more success due to his recognition as an amazing vocalist and songwriter, they deserve it.

  • @HammernHeads soon

  • @HammernHeads christian band

  • @HammernHeads Because he chose to play on the not SO glamorous side of the buisenes. But a side that deserves WAY more respect in my oppinion than any lady GAGA or Robbie Williams (even if they do cite Freddie Mercury as their influence). He originaly plays in a christian band called Downhere and their music is so much more inspiring than anything I've heard in years it's just mindblowing. But christian music is newer going to be mainstream... But I guess he's OK with that.

  • @HammernHeads ...because he's Uber-Christian and that doesn't play well with a lot of people.

  • @HammernHeads We've given him 2 Juno awards (they're like the grammys for just canadians)

  • he reminds me so much to freddie mercury

  • he played this at a show i saw a week ago! he sure wooed the crowed this song.

  • He did this to us last night at Fuel '09 :D He said Northern Ireland was his second home

  • That was great!

  • i can't understand what he's saying :(

  • haha...he sang that to us when i saw them...haha. he said he had just wrote it and we were the first crowd to hear it. i was laughing so hard after he was done.
