Mothers can buy drugs at exorbitant prices in my country as long as they have a prescription. I would think it is amoral for people to kill each other over the illegal drug trade. Or for women and children to engage in prostitution to pay for drugs. The only thing legalization would do is take money away from bad guys on both sides of the enforcement fence. @Sirafrican The cartels in Mexico will only be destroyed in the same way organizations such as the ones organized by people like Al Capone, by legalizing their product, therefore flooding the market with cheaper alternatives to that which they produce, at which point they will lose their only real source of cash, leaving them with only extortion, kidnapping, etc, which is far easier to control than the sale of drugs, which the people themselves actually fund. That just means that the Cartels will compete illegally with government regulated drugs... Think of it this way Guns are legal for people to buy, however so many people buy guns illegally off the black market. It'd be the same for drugs as well. People will buy them legally but there will be a huge black market still for people to buy them illegally.
