  • Two people will never be as cool as Leon.

  • FF II is the best FF ever!!!

  • When I was little it gave me a sense of hope

  • Pure beauty =)

  • Dam, when choirs began singing i cry xD

  • AWESOME. 'nuff said.

  • Final Fantasy 2 Rebel Army theme and Final Fantasy 9 background :D

  • is it weird to not realise the picture isnt from ff2?

  • @Relizithians Yes. Bahamut and Alexandria are not in FFII.

  • so quiet but still so beautiful. I get goosebumps

  • When I listen to it, It gets me pumped up and ready to do housework and cleaning..! That song is determination itself!! :D

  • No two people are Lil waynee fan boys

  • Final Fantasy II: The Rise of the Rebels

Final Fantasy II: The Emperor Strikes Back

Final Fantasy II: Lord of Heaven and Hell

  • 2 people are Justin Bieber Fanboys

  • Was this in FFIX too?

  • this is probably the most beautiful orchestrated version of the rebel army that i have ever heard. i do not see why this doesn't have more views

  • No words can describe this beauty ..

  • @OXG2221 Beauty? This is Heaven and Hell above Earth!!

  • Only finshed FF2 for this song

  • Nobuo's masterpiece, also FF2 is the most tragic of all FF's IMO

  • @HayatoDBdotcom Yeah I remember playing this game and there were so many deaths

  • finally figured out where this particular arrangement is from

its from the Final Fantasy Symphonic Suite scene 7

  • when I heard this 4 first time in dissidia (midi version) something in my soul made me smile :D

  • Few songs can bring me to tears. But this is hands down THE best song ive ever heard in a video game. I wish they would use this version if they do another remake. :-

  • This is my favorite version of this song mostly in part to my love of classic band music

  • Is this on itunes

  • where can you download this song?

  • Picture is unrelated.

  • @porygonlover322 But awesome.

  • @porygonlover322 It's final fantasy 9 >_>

  • @porygonlover322

actually i see castle pandaemonium rising up behind the village

  • @lunethbilford I can't tell if you're talking about Alexander or the Crystal Tower, but neither of them are Pandaemonium.

  • @porygonlover322 holy crap not related?

  • @Jacknam125

Tis' from Final Fantasy 9. 9, however... was full of references to the pre 7 final fantasy games. Hell, one of the sidequests to get your first Summon involves a story taken directly from Final Fantasy II.

So i guess its.... sort of related. in a distant way.

  • @Zenjin000: POOR JOSEF! I loved how Ramuh's story was that story.

  • @porygonlover322 bahamut and alexander are part of the final fantasy series, but yeah, those are components from other chapters

  • I'm playing FF2 for the first time now, about 22 hours in (Origins version on PS1). This theme really stood out to me, great piece of music. :)

  • Red Rose

  • is a good song.

  • Best Final Fantasy's Theme Ever ♥ Also the game :)

  • Two uncultivated

  • @ValiantSkyChaser I agree, and most unknown rendition, I spent two to three days just looking for this one piece (I thought it would have been more known because of its epicness!)

  • "I'll just head to my balcony and look over the city. I'm sure it will look splendid at night, an..." *sees that, and immediately heads back inside.*

  • ok lol i know bahamuts one of the most badass summons in the final fantasy series but seriously, when you look at the picture it looks like alexander is about to say "Im gonna fuck you up kid..."

  • OH NO!!!! im getting addicted to this song AGAIN!!!! i've been listening to it all last night!!!! HEEELP!!!!!

  • I love final fantasy..but The Mother series kicks the shit out of it

  • @lamfp I don't even know what that is.

  • 2 people cant play final fantasy

  • HCBailly: "That always gets me a little choked up. I'm not gonna lie, viewers."

  • imagine FF2 was remade for ps3 with super updated graphics and you walk the halls of the rebel hide out with this playing

  • 2 people is working for emperor mateus

  • @acetrainer95 It's obviously the Emperor of Hell and Emperor of Heaven. He split himself in two just so he could dislike this twice.

  • When I have to present a speech, guess what I'm going to play!

  • One of the best songs in the entire Final Fantasy series.

  • This song is so full of Justice!

Great for playing during a speech 8D

  • omg this piece is so peaceful, thank you once again nobuo for creating such music in a great series

  • Nostalgiaaaaaaaaaaa!!I will not stop listening to this..It's just great!

  • pretty

  • Impressive

  • Join la resistance! I'll meet you at Altair!

  • And people dare to say that videogames music is not fucking art! OMG!

  • This is music is just epic!!

  • Probably the most beautiful adaptation of a classic 8 bit to orchestra theme. I don't even like final fantasy II but I almost cried during this song and it made me want to go back and try final fantasy II again.

  • lol, i've started listening to this.... AGAIN!!!

  • when I hear this, I think of standing on a battlefield and honoring my fallen comrades, by fighting till I fall.

  • amazing

  • was anyone sad when bahamut blew up alexander? cause i was happy!

  • @draklorian: You mean when Alexandr blew up Bahamut? Or when the Invincible blew up Alexandr?

  • I listen to this quite often.

The story Ramuh tells in FF9 is straight out of FF2.

  • @FluffyBunniesOnFire wow your right, i just looked it up, thank you i didnt know this, hehe feel kinda dumb now!

  • lenin's red communist army's theme :D nah i kid but dam its so epic

  • The picture look like when Vincent Valentine transform in FF7...

  • @tosswartul Now that you say it it looks a little alike

It's from FFIX though and it's the summon bahamut

  • @tosswartul I totally thought the same thing

  • .... i now start randomly humming this song...

i seriously need to stop listening.......but i cant stop cause its to epic to stop, lol

  • still listening....

this is just too epic to stop listening

    With Chaos and Omega xP

Best FF Song there is 8D

So full of fighting spirit 8o

Give a pre battle speech to a ton of troops while this is playing 8o

    Guaranteed victory c8

  • art, nobuo uematsu should win a nobel peace prize... has he?

  • im playing it on trumpet and piano now, lol. can you post a mp3 of this?

  • Comment removed

  • im still listening, lol

  • still epic after a whole week

  • where did you get this song

  • a picture from LotR showing the armies of the west would work too, lol.

  • Probably should have used an FF7 pic - this tune could work quite well with AVALANCHE.

  • @Mogman12 @Belgarion234 or final fantasy II

  • @Mogman12 it works with any rebel group fighting against an impossible evil.

  • oh, and coincidentally, ive been listening for about 5 hours now, lol

  • you need to post a mp3 download of this somewhere!!!!

  • they need to remake this on ds and psp. maybe even better, PC AND ALL THE CONSOLES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @Belgarion234 it's on psp dude.

  • this is best version of this song, ive watched others a few times, but ive spent about 3 hours listening to just this one!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • whats the big thing with wings in the background? and is who is the dragon?

  • lol, i can play on piano now! spent a few hours.

this theme is definetly the best one in FFII

  • @Belgarion234 THIS is the best piece in the series, if there is was definition of a hero, this would be listed immediately..

  • epic!

  • gave me goosebumps!!!!

  • amazing!!!!!!

  • This alone is reason enough for someone to pick up FF2 and start playin ;)

  • @cheezrulez4eva

stop winking at me you creepy bastard

  • @cheezrulez4eva What's Final Fantasy? :P

  • @cheezrulez4eva Hear hear!

  • is a picture of one of the best Final Fantasy games out there... Final Fantasy 9

  • (Umm... whats the picture from?)

  • Final Fantasy IX. It's a picture of Alexander.

  • Cool.

  • cutscene final fantasy 9

  • where can i find download

  • awesome!!

    Love this theme (Orchestra ver.).

    thanks for sharing.

  • Kanye West: "Hey Luke! I know you have an awesome Rebel Army and I'm proud that you're standing up against the Empire but I wanna say that Firion's Rebel Army is the best Rebel Army of all time! OF ALL TIME!"

Luke: "Then tell me why seven people die in FF2?"

    Kayne:"..."

  • @ViolinSnowKid Damn, lmao.

  • @ViolinSnowKid

Many Bothans died to bring Luke this information..

  • @ViolinSnowKid You should be ashamed of yourself. Kanye West is unworthy of being mentioned in the same sentence as Final Fantasy or Star Wars. He's only slightly more annoying than Jar-Jar Binks, and about as intelligent as Fighter.

  • @ViolinSnowKid Probably Cuz the Emperor in FFII was a BOSS! Unlike Palpitine, who just sat there while Vader did all the work

  • @GodOfDeathCT didn't he create Vader?

  • @ViolinSnowKid way more than 7 people die

  • @ViolinSnowKid I'll be the one to ask....

Did Kanye West really say that? last person I'd expect to play FF II. He just might earn some respect for that. lolz

  • this picture is from...final fantasy ix when eiko and dagger summon alexander?

  • yup

  • @muguripon really??? i thinked it was vincent against omega in FFVII Dirge of cerberus

  • where can i download this?

  • This is basically my theme (due to me being a rebel and all). I agree with some that this sounds like an athem and I think that this would be the song for the beganing.

  • Sorry I forgot to mention moive (must of skipped that).

  • Almost cried with this song.......................ok, i cried.

What a beautiful song, and what a amazing versionof it. This music reallt remembers my childhood.

  • great theme :)

i hope ill be able to buy remake soon

  • just to clarify - I always get confused between the japanese and english numbering. Is this Japanese ff2 or american ff2? I mean is this the one with cecil in it?

  • @Turkaholic

This is the Japanese 2. The US "2" is really the 4th installment. The US missed out on 2 and 3.

  • japanese ff2. but square enix is fixing the whole america got skipped thing so yeah

  • Just FYI, they don't honor the old American numbers now. Square Enix named the remake of FF IV "FF IV," not FF II. If you see FF II, it's going to be the real FF II (the one with Emperor Mateus and Frionel).

  • It's so amazing that this song can either be sad when played slowly... or brightened up with some brass and become heroic and inspirational. It's pure genius, Nobuo is a god among men.

  • When I played this game and this theme popped up, I always thought this was a really sad song. Like a call out to all of those who died in the struggle to fight Palmecia.

  • FF II is a downer all the way through. The vast, empty world map, with the depressing World Map music, with Cid's Airship passing overhead every ten minutes or so only underscoring how little else is going on. The bombed-out remnants of Altair, with this theme playing. The game feels like it's post-apocalyptic. Add that to the fact that the game's intent on kicking your ass, and it can be a depressing experience.

  • True, although with the exception of the Imp's damn confusion, I never really got my asked kicked. Right at the begining, it shows Mateus killing innocent kids playing in a city and the Hilda watched them kill her friend. The Soul of Rebirth ending is really sad too.

  • i agree it had lota beginner's trap but ff2 was one of SE's 1st project so cant blame em for their mistake eh?

  • yeah i know what you mean. In FF1 the world map theme was nice like "yeah lets go save the worl" you pla FF2 and your like..."can i go home now?"

  • I know that Final Fantasy II is underrated and all, but why does this awesome song not have more views?

  • The original CD release where this piece can be found had a misprint, and is out of print since long. I have it but it wasn't cheap. Worth every penny for sure though, timeless music.

  • The Orchestra version makes the Rebel Army theme sound very patriotic especially in the climax.

  • masterpiece....

  • Love this theme, wonder if there is an orchestrated Magician's tower and Temple of Chaos. That would be most excellent.

As for the kids arguing about who is better, some of you need to have you hands smashed and jaws shattered.

Simply enjoy the great and beautiful creations of humanity and look forward to what they will inspire others to create in our lifespans.

  • @Lownek There's an orchestrated Temple of Chaos (it's part of a suite) and it is AWESOME. Part of it sounds like an old spaghetti western. Very cool. Look for it.

  • @Lownek you should smash their jaws and hands with a wrench especially this wrench! -hands u a wrench- now go have fun you hand and jaw smasher you xD

  • Not that Bach and Mozart were untalented or anything but...

Uematsu blows them out of the water. What he did with an 8-Bit synthesizer far surpasses what they did with entire nations best orchestras.

Now we finally get to hear his dreams come to fruition by being performed by orchestras. It's incredible.

  • you're saying that almost as if video game composers aren't good or even appreciated by the public. that's where you're wrong. Uematsu is a living god of music. doesn't matter who influenced him or why or how. Specifically talking about bach and mozart while they were phenomenal for their time and ours they're dead now. bring them back to life and maybe we'll start worshiping them.

  • That's like saying, that a champion racing car driver from 1950, is automatically better than, say, Jenson Button, or other world champion racing car drivers of today. I'm a pianist and listen to a lot of real classical music, but it doesn't mean it can't be surpassed. and "fucking video game composer"? This is the medium of today. Back then, they simply had concert halls. Life moves on, things change. Move on with it or you'll be stuck in yesteryear.

  • just because he is a video game composer doesnt make him untalented...

  • Which album/concert is this from?

  • N Generation

  • Final Fantasy II was good in every respect...except for that STUPID leveling system. God I hated it.

  • @SoftBank47 um... i dont remeber much of a difference between ff1 and ff2 in leveling...

  • @SoftBank47 What do you mean? All you gotta do is confirm and cancel over and over and over and over again and your set for the rest of the game!

  • I love this!

FF2 was the 1st game I played after I learned about emulation. When I 1st heard Rebel Army I knew I was about to enter a wonderful chapter of my life.

  • Mozart ain't got jack on Uematsu.

Why does this man not have his own church yet?

  • You forget he IS god. We built a shitload already.

  • @zizou324

If this music were in church, people would actually want to go to church, lol.

  • @zizou324 No... just no.

  • @zizou324 Mozart and Uematsu are both great composers, but I still must say Uematsu is much better and writes more interesting melodies.

  • @Laurelindo you cant say that, mozart lived 250-300 years ago. In this century, not many people could compose good. And uematsu (i think he's genious, too) composes are modern but it is it better then mozart?

  • @MCMasterMixes95 Mozart was technically more talented than Uematsu, but I prefer Uematsu's style and his melodies have a great power that can spellbind most people, regardless of musical taste.

Mozart is definitely one of the greatest composers of all time and has composed a lot of very deep and important melodies, but I believe Uematsu's melodies feel more personal and "close to the heart", so to speak.

  • epico maximo

  • Was this from N Generation?

  • Damn I was like 7 when I had first heard this music. Then I had gotten the Final Fantasy soundtrack 1987-1994, back in 1995. This was my most favorite song on the entire soundtrack, It inspired a painting I did for my art final in 12th grade too ^_^
