another great one is a repeat ball. if you have the poke you are about to catch in another game, transfer it and you get the data. then you can use repeat balls.

You have to enter a room in Mt. Coronet near Route 216 while having a Regigigas from a faithful encounter in your party

@Jaztec35 yeah there was an event around the time of the Giratina movie after they gave Shimyn they gave a special Regigigas so you could use it in platinum.
