Jesus Christ! You spend all that money on a MacBook and they won't simply let you install a new hard drive if you want to? I don't get it, changing a hard drive in a PC Desktop/Laptop and reinstalling the OS is simple as shit. This is what puts me off buying a Mac is the limitations/restrictions of Apple.
Hey, what's going? BTW, Nice video! I just had a really quick question.... I'm debating on whether to purchase a used macbook pro 17" and replace the processor among other internals. My most important question is, " Does it matter what brand or model processor you need if you are going from and older processor to a Intel i7? Please let me know. I'm debating whether to spend time and money into this next project.
You just showed at high speed that you can't follow instructions and that you have no confidence in your work. Especially at the end where you are checking it's screwed down properly.
Thats fine, i wont have any problems changing the hard drive, its i just dont no the process on what 2 do after the change over for example the partition i no about disk utility and where 2 find the partition bit is it hard ?
Sorry but not sure, what do u mean by make a partition ?, so i hold down option and the c button together 2 run the disk? How do i make a partition and is it important im gonna install everything from new and there is nothing i wanna save cos ive done so already, At what time would i make a partition b4 or after the install of lepard. Thanks 4 your time much appreciated
i dont mean to sound rude but if you dont know what a partition is or how to boot from disc maybe you should have someone do it for you... but to boot from disc you have to hold option (just option) while it boots then you have to run disc utility to partition the drive to have a identifiable disk to put your Os on and be able to boot from
Why doesn't anybody mention that you actually have to break the little plastic tabs to get the keyboard off and it's possible to bend the keyboard. Now mine has a small gap above the cd drive.
yes this voids the warranty and no it doesnt break any plastic tabs because there are none im not posting this for the new comer this is for someone that has worked on computers before
also you could just take it out and replace what you had in there if it was something other than the HDD or just get a new HDD if it crashed TIME MACHINE
if you take off the battery it will tell you what the mac came with and if you have to send it back to mac and it has new equipment (even ram) you will void the warranty
right right right if you remove your battery you will see what you mac is supposed to have in text if you get ram from mac they give you a certificate with a reference in the space of your specs of you mac.... work for apple my guy

Just replaced the harddrive in my Macbook Pro 17" with a 500G 7200 rpmSeagate.
I avoided disconnecting the keyboard by using the screen as a rest for it. Just stand the screen up enough for the keyboard to lay against it.
