In the NFL, any type of lead is almost a guaranteed win. I AGREE!! My favourite NFL team is the 49ers, CFL team-The BC Lions. A CFL game is usually ups and down, A 10 pt. lead could mean nothing even if only 3-4 minutes left in the game in the CFL. I had ten people watching at my place but after the alcohol consumption, about half were asking me who won in the morning. Now football's is over except for a couple of drunkfests at beautiful glow-in-the-dark Orchard Park, NY. Oh, and I wouldn't spend $1 to see the Bills at the Rogers Centre. The Als could have a lot more attendance, the stadium is not big enough. There is like 20 000 seats or something like that and it is sold out for years, we had to wait 4 years before we got our seasons tickets and it's not easy finding tickets for a season game. They are adding 5000 more seats next year but it will be sold out again in 2 seconds. The hundred of thousands people in the streets to celebrate the cup showed what we all know here, there is a lot of football fan in Québec.

Remember we sell out every game too and have for a few years, and we have 10,000 more seats than you, plus Montreal has 3.6 million people when the entire province of Saskatchewan has 1 million. You had 50,000 to the East Final but it was still far from sold-out, in Regina the West Final sold out in 30 minutes and if we had 3.6 million and the Big O it would have sold out in 2 minutes.

And yes I admit the enthusiasm isn't at the same level every game, but I have been to home games of every CFL, NHL MLB ans NBA team in Canada and by far the loudest and most intense atmosphere is for the Riders. The Habs are the only team that comes close.

And when you go to a Habs game there are only people in jerseys and maybe half are wearing them. In Regina EVERYONE wears green.

Decent team? 17-3 in a season is more than a decent team... it's a dominating team. Yes we dominate the east... but the west too, 8-2 against west teams this year. And next year the team will be pretty much the same and we will be again a force to reckon with.
Yeah... the Alouettes! It's not like it was a referee mistake or something, it was a team mistake in a crucial moment, we won fair and square. The Riders gave 17 points in 8 minutes what do you want me to do, if they had played when it really counted they would not have been in that delicate position at the end of the game. In hockey in 1979 during the 7th game of te semi finals between Montreal and Boston, Don cherry sent too many men on the ice while they were leading by a goal with 2 minutes to go. Guy Lafleur tied the scored and the Habs won in overtime. People still remember that Boston lost because of that and that Mtl won. Same thing here, people will remember the Als incredibl comeback and that the Riders felt apart!

I know that Percival Molson is 20 000 and also too small. It's a great stadium but it is almost impossible finding tickets for years because it is too small. I don't know what was the point of our post.

The big O is propably the worst stadium in Canada, really not a nice place to go, it's depressing going there so it's a really good thing they switched to Percival Molson which is a really nice stadium to go. But now he is to small, Timtwo face is right we could have 30-40K people every game. And the stadium itself of mosaic is really not that special. What was nice was the real grass but that is not there anymore. I hope Edmonton keep their real grass forever.

I have to admit after the Alouettes' sore defeat in Montreal in 2008 I was happy they won the year after! I wish I had been there.

First, since the expansion in 67 the Habs won it ten times, most then any other team since then. They won it in 93, it's a while but it is still the last Canadian team to have won it.
Now the Riders beat the Als the first half, the 3rd quarter was pretty even, BUT THE ALS DOMINATED THE 4TH QUARTER!
They give 17 points in the last 8 minutes... they just crumbled under pressure, and the Als took advantage of it.

In the NFL, any type of lead is almost a guaranteed win. I AGREE!! My favourite NFL team is the 49ers, CFL team-The BC Lions. A CFL game is usually ups and down, A 10 pt. lead could mean nothing even if only 3-4 minutes left in the game in the CFL. Perhaps of the bigger field or bigger end zone compare to the NFL..thats probably why it's easier to score and obviously makes it more exciting. Go LIONS GO!!! Congratz to the ALS team.

Great ratings for the classic. Highest ever for a Grey Cup. Over 14 million people watched. I had ten people watching at my place but after the alcohol consumption, about half were asking me who won in the morning. Now football's is over except for a couple of drunkfests at beautiful glow-in-the-dark Orchard Park, NY. Oh, and I wouldn't spend $1 to see the Bills at the Rogers Centre. Bills stay in Orchard Park--tailgating is why we go!!!

The Als could have a lot more attendance, the stadium is not big enough. There is like 20 000 seats or something like that and it is sold out for years, we had to wait 4 years before we got our seasons tickets and it's not easy finding tickets for a season game. They are adding 5000 more seats next year but it will be sold out again in 2 seconds. The hundred of thousands people in the streets to celebrate the cup showed what we all know here, there is a lot of football fan in Québec.

Maybe so but it doesn't even come close to Saskatchewan in terms of popularity. Remember we sell out every game too and have for a few years, and we have 10,000 more seats than you, plus Montreal has 3.6 million people when the entire province of Saskatchewan has 1 million. You had 50,000 to the East Final but it was still far from sold-out, in Regina the West Final sold out in 30 minutes and if we had 3.6 million and the Big O it would have sold out in 2 minutes.

My point is that you tried to make it sound like Montreal was not a football place by saying they have the lowest attendance in the league, but there is a lot of people that cant go to the games because the stadium too small. And yes I admit the enthusiasm isn't at the same level every game, but I have been to home games of every CFL, NHL MLB ans NBA team in Canada and by far the loudest and most intense atmosphere is for the Riders. The Habs are the only team that comes close.

ok what the hell do you mean when you say in the series? And no when you go to Regina is is obvious the presence the team has in the city. In Montreal, I might see a guy with a Habs hat but that's pretty much it or a car flag. In Regina there are Rider license plates and Rider flags all over the city and people wearing shirts and sweaters everywhere during the season. And when you go to a Habs game there are only people in jerseys and maybe half are wearing them. In Regina EVERYONE wears green.

In Toronto when we played Winnipeg for the Grey Cup we outnumbered Bomber fans 5 to 1. If there was a Grey Cup in Ottawa between Sask and Montreal, it would be way closer because we have fans all over the country

Yeah... the Alouettes! It's not like it was a referee mistake or something, it was a team mistake in a crucial moment, we won fair and square. The Riders gave 17 points in 8 minutes what do you want me to do, if they had played when it really counted they would not have been in that delicate position at the end of the game. And the Alouettes was the best team this year, we both know that.

A lot of penalties happens with no direct impact on the action... it is still a penalty.
In hockey in 1979 during the 7th game of te semi finals between Montreal and Boston, Don cherry sent too many men on the ice while they were leading by a goal with 2 minutes to go. Guy Lafleur tied the scored and the Habs won in overtime. People still remember that Boston lost because of that and that Mtl won. Same thing here, people will remember the Als incredibl comeback and that the Riders felt apart!

The big O is propably the worst stadium in Canada, really not a nice place to go, it's depressing going there so it's a really good thing they switched to Percival Molson which is a really nice stadium to go. But now he is to small, Timtwo face is right we could have 30-40K people every game. And the stadium itself of mosaic is really not that special. What was nice was the real grass but that is not there anymore. I hope Edmonton keep their real grass forever.

well I never said the stadium is the best experience, but going to a game in Regina is the best experience in Canada by far
