The corporate media's chosen one, prevaricator Christ' Hitchens through his misguided faith in A.M.A.-endorsed-cancer-treatment protocols, has sealed his fate. In the end pig-ignorance was his undoing.
The disbanding of the Iraqi Army was less of a disaster than the complete deBaathification. Mr. Hitchens rightly questions the sudden demobilization, but a far worse betrayal was the denial of ANY trained manpower to GEN Franks to set up a provisional military police force before looting and sectarian violence set in.
The resulting mayhem is a War Crime against Bremmer, and his masters.
Hitchens is a very wordly man with an amazing mind not just from an Oxford education but from the life he has lived before settling here in the U.S. and becoming a citizen. Dennis Miller is the only person working for the Fox News Network who can hold his own with Christopher because the rest of the interviewers are small minded hacks who bully and try to speak over their subjects. Hitchens is so much more than just a athiest. Check out his essays on Jefferson and Kissenger... best wishes
Smugness aside, he does make a convincing argument for all his contrarian iconoclasm, while a lot of people with "established" views flounder in defense of their's. His criticism of George Galloway is a good example, Michael Moore an even better one.

Love to hear Mr Hitchen talk - but I disagree about the Iraqi army - history shows when you get rid of a dictatorship you lop off the head, and keep the body, otherwise anarchy ensues, as in Iraq. Sure a lot of people with blood on their hands get away with murder, but those dead are already dead - the American botch - that so embarrassed us Brits how supported the war- caused many then un-murdered to be murdered. He seems to both deplore the solution of peace through ruin and promote it.

I just love to see fucking pussies like him, that have never served a second of their life in the military, sit there in their comfortable surroundings, and talk tough. People like him are just trying to reconcile their childhood, when they got beat up in the school yard everyday. Fucking pussies!!!!
MILLER is just another NEOCON liar. The whole war is based on a lie. You tube WTC 7 collapse and its an obvious controlled demolition. There were explosives in all the buildings. It was an inside job. 19 Arabs with boxcutters? Please! What a joke. Watch 911 LOOSE CHANGE and judge for yourself.
What religion is Dennis Miller? I know he is not Christian or Jewish. And obviously he is not Muslim since he is always talking about killing them every day.
What are you talking about you mentally ill hack? Who mentioned Democrats? fucking redneck hick. Don't try to use pretentious language. It doesn't work with your lax grasp of English Grammar.
I think if 15 years ago, Dennis Miller would have known at age 55 he would be hosting a once-a-week guest segment on the Bill O'Reilly program, he'd have offed himself.
Not all conservatives are stupid.
But all conservatives who choose the OReilly Factor as their forum, are fucking morons.
Dennis Miller fucking rules. It is fine if you don't like him or don't think he is funny because everything he says is over your head, but don't call him a tool because he has to make a living. People love calling people employed on TV tools, you act like you don't do what your boss tells you to do. He's not a journalist, he has never claimed to be. He is a talk show host and and is paid to offer an opinion, but if it isn't yours then he is a tool.
What do they owe their audience? they shouldnt change what they have to say after considering their audience. if people like what they have to say then they will watch, if they dont like it they wont watch. its not like they are on after school gets out and have to consider if children are watching, adults are the audience. presumably adults can think for themselves, and dont need TV personalities to treat them like children. What responsibility are you talking about?
People who take to a public platform as present themselves as commentators/op-ed voices, have a responsibility to give their honest opinions. Bill O and similar folks are being irresponsible b/c their outrage is manufactured (admittedly so.) When their objective is to make money, rather than being a genuine social critic, and their 'product' changes to maintain the former over the latter, they're just being an entertainer.
TV is a weird unique media where consciously or not people believe they are engaging with someone, and they respond to charismatic figures that portray strong emotion (all people are drawn to the security of that sense of certainty.)
Although people should think on their own, and have their bullshit radars sharp and tv clickers ready, plenty of people don't. They absorb disingenuous junk and eventhough some tv guy gets a paycheck everyone loses.
didn't mean to rattle.. if someone's going to speak about serious issues, they should take it seriously.
If these opinion show guys were honest & primarily concerned with the social benefit their commentary might provide (instead of the financial benefit), they'd say "I don't know" a lot more. You never hear that though, b/c they're entertainers (whether they're aware of it or not), and the colorful indignation, certainty, humor, etc is what they're peddling - not honest critique.
i agree with you that the manufactured outrage is ridiculous and merely for entertainment. but to assume that you can read someone's mind and know their "true" opinion is pretty presumptuous. you are correct when you say if they were being entirely honest they would say i dont know a lot more. however, it is impossible to tell how they really feel about anything. lets face it, they are talking heads.
maybe miller does curb his true opinions at time, but i think he does it a lot less than the rest. it is either curb the opinion, or dont get your message out at all. if you dont play ball every once-in-a-while, they just dont let you on TV. i think that anchors see their position as one i which they are getting paid to hit talking points, not offer their real opinions. an anchors/pundits opinion is not any more relevant than yours or mine.
when it comes to news, how is any opinion relevant? if you pay attention to their interpretation of the events then that is your problem. If Barrack Obama says something like i think that the rich should pay more taxes, and brian williams says i think this is really going to hurt him with the white collar voters. does it matter what brain williams thinks? the only thing that matters is that you know what obama said and the actual results of it, not some anchors prediction of the outcome.
if you want to place blame for the corruption of the free press, then look to GE (NBC), Westinghouse (CBS), Disney (ABC), Time-Warner (CNN), and News Corp (Fox News). they set the agenda. Bill O, Miller, Olberman, Blitzer, Mathews, Williams, Gibson, are simply spokesmen for their employer, i think most people could make that connection. Getting real news is not difficult. like you say, you just need to have your bullshit filter in place. go to several sources of news then make up your own mind.
who dictates this responsibility? who says that they are required say what they really think. they are not paid to have an opinion, they are paid to expound on the opinions of their employers. there is no such thing as objectivity when it comes to people. ti would prefer transparency to false objectivity, say that this is a liberal/conservative network and you will be getting the opinion of a liberal/conservative analyst. there is no such thing as a pure press, there never has been.
I think you're having a conversation an imaginary other here...
My argument has nothing to do with objectivity, just conscience.
They're liars b/c they misrepresent themselves, whether its their journalistic credentials (purpose of their program -inform or entertain), the sincerity of their speech, or the source of their 'opinions.'
Call it whatever the fuck they want. Don't whore yourself & spread dishonest pith when you know full well people are tuning in expecting 'to learn'.
true, obscure references dont make you intelligent, but they do make you more informed or well read than the average person. in most cases i would prefer well informed to more intelligent. there are very few situations that require a staggering intellect to understand. however, if someone is well informed they usually have a much easier time getting their heads around any given issue.
I think you're missing my point about obscure. By focusing your attention on the obscure, you lose your focus on the more common. This can be an almost anti-wisdom. I know that's not a proper term or anything. What I'm getting at, is that you can unlearn common sense, by focusing on the obscure. I see no guarantee that focusing your attention on the obscure, makes anyone more well informed in any case.
i dont think he focuses on the obscure. commenting on the obscure reminds people that the issue under discussion is not always common. to think that all you need to be informed on any given topic is to be familiar with the common seems to be a little shallow. that is like saying non-violence worked for ghandi and king, it must work in every situation. an understanding of the common may allow you to understand an issue, but it rarely allows you to contribute anything new to it.
Oh, he definitely does focus on the obscure. And his references are questionable a lot of the time too. I take your second point at value, and I agree with it. However, I really don't find Dennis Miller has anything new to contribute, to be completely honest. He uses these references to feign intelligence, but offers nothing but boiler-plate conservatism.
He may offer nothing but boilerplate conservatism, but that is only a symptom of the same disease that democrats and conservatives alike have fallen victim to as of late. Periodic outbreaks of demagoguery are all too common. If the populous would go beyond a common understanding of issues such as health, energy, education, etc., we would immunize ourselves against the boilerplate conservatism and liberal fascism that has plagued this country.
You probably should have said boilerplate liberalism. Calling it fascism betrays your own biases, and that is a symptom of the plague which you speak. I believe you're trying to be honest in your approach, and that's why I offer this constructive criticism.
i dont think that calling it fascism is an overstatement, though i could have said the same of the conservatism that is running rampant. i dont know what else you could call this lumbering, steamrolling, behemoth nanny state. my point with "liberal fascism" was a reference to the book of that title, and how you can cover up fascism with compassion. Just because clinton, or obama, or george bush claim they have you best interests at heart doesnt mean their policies are not fascist.
Fair enough! I guess there are some extremists on both sides. I think most liberals are a little liberal, and most conservatives are a little conservative. I think both the extremes can be pretty dictatorial, so I get your point.
First let me say that it is nice to actually read some intelligent discourse on these video comments pages, more times than not, it is disheartening that people can be so rediculoulsly naive, mean, and honestly just plan stupid. That said, I find while your discourse is insightful and intelligent, you both have profoundly "over" thought this one. "Just the facts", is just a flavorless story, Dennis is the "lagniappe" of what would otherwise be a boring, fact filled exsistance.
Doth we protest too much? i dont think the issues was over thought, just over argued. These comment pages are great mental gymnastics, and are a lot more entertaining than math problems and puzzles. you have to keep the razors honed, and this is the easiest way to keep sharp. as you say, more often than not, i find myself bantering with imbeciles. johnedwards 1968 is a rarity, it is much easier to argue with someone who makes clear, concise points. we all rise to the level of our competition.
If you are referring to faith in an omniscient, universal creator (God), I must impose that the statement is incorrect. There are plenty of well adjusted, moral people who lack this faith. As far as paranoia, I think that organized religion has caused more paranoia than anything else. I respect your opinions though.
This is the first time I've heard the horrors of war waged by incompetent policy makers, displacing 4.5 million people and killing 80-100 thousand civilians rationalized as, "hey, sometimes you gotta go through tough times, babe". Brilliant analysis.
but he's right... your response just suggests you're jealous of Hitchens because he can actually back up all his big words with facts and rational debate. You just insulted MePianists comprehension level... as a result, you are the one who illustrated your irrationality which I, just moments earlier, described as less tolerable. Is it any wonder you showed up? lol
You just follow the same old theme every time don't you? Yes, Ass clown that is you. what a perfect moniker. very good drgroovebliss you pegged this little Ass Clown immediately
Before you go with this cretin check out his profile.... it may save you some time and aggravation he is a literate SOUNDING retarded person. He is like a parrot he mimics words he may have heard from a parent or some other person but he functions at a very simple spastic level.
Regardless, he's INTELLIGENT and RATIONAL and even though I am convinced there is a Higher Power, I can tolerate hearing him speak more than I can all the immature, nonsensical haters who claim to be on his side of the fence.
People who think that possesing knowledge of a word others may not be familiar with must give them some intellectual high-ground are "Assclowns" If you are an "Assclown" you might need to look this word up.
"Barack Obama has put his religion back into the headlines, trumpeting the power and salvation of faith and asking a church audience in South Carolina to help him become "an instrument of God" and join him in creating "a Kingdom right here on Earth."
I warned that this would happened and I was called called mean. Well sometimes the truth hurts. Wake up!
I guess you've got the market cornered on mutual masturbation, whores, and baby-killing trolls. The phrase "conservo-fascist" demonstrates that you are reactionary and not an original thinker, at all.
Both shill for AIPAC and the Rupert Murdoch neo-con kill-all-"Islamo-Fascists"-while-looting-the-US-treasury crowd. They are colleagues in that territory, so this "interview" is nothing more than mutual masturbation.
*sigh* you don't really understand why hitchens supported the war in iraq, do you? you have to understand all of his political beliefs in the context of his disdain for religion, because that's his central focus.
So what is this? A contest to see which one of these cretins can be more revolting? A couple of worms have crawled out of the dirt, pausing only to pleasure Bush and pimp his occupation of Iraq. Hitchens and Miller? Kind of like Leopold and Loeb.
Why don't you read a book -- or three -- before writing an off the cuff, nonsensical attack with a tired Leopold and Loeb reference? Any spark of originality out there? Anywhere?
Are you kidding? It's only because I'm somewhat literate that I would use such an arcane reference. Even my Yale grad girlfriend/attorney didn't know L&L. I could have called these two creeps "shithead/sellouts/scumbags/Republican Court Jesters" and while accurate, might have been far too subtle.
Somewhat literate? If you say so. I'm not surprised your Yale girlfriend didn't know Leopold and Loeb. Since she's dating you, she's obviously not too bright to begin with.
I'm not posting again, so you can have the last word and feel good about yourself.
George Bush Sr. and Jr. and Prescott Bush went to Yale. Speaking of "shithead/sellouts/scumbags/Republican Court Jesters", oh yeah, and lying, murdering crime family thugs.
Individuals? How about Hitchens as MARKETING GENIUS. How to get love from the right wing while TRASHING God/religion? Easy, support the war in Iraq. He gets to appear on all the conservative talk shows and sell books where normally they wouldn't let someone who ridicules Christianity near the door. This is an inconvenient fact. It has nothing to do with individuality or political purity. He was known for it back in his home country.
This is not a "fact," inconvenient or otherwise. By your logic, you could argue that Hitchens attacked god to "get love" from the left, and got invited on left-leaning shows despite his support for the war. Of course, his critique of religion predates his support of the war, and he has long been a staple on both left and right shows. Make sure your neural signals are firing before posting again.
Nonsense. Hitchens was clearly identified with the left, as a Nation columnist and strongly progressive polemicist, for the entire time before he decided that there was more money in backing Bush's war. He rolled the dice and lost. He attacked the Clintons from the left---not the right. Until late 2002, he was always the "left" point of view. He was never a "staple" on "right" shows until he lost his mind in 2003.
First, I wasn't talking to you. Secondly, he attacked the Clintons on his own, not from "the Left," which was left covering up for Clinton and excusing his behavior at every opportunity. Third, his reasons for backing the Iraq war only occasionally intersect with Bush's stated reasons, if you'd take the time to read any of Hitchens's works, rather than engage in ad hominem attacks against a man who's got a greater moral sense than exhibited by most on the so-called Left or Right.
anyone m akin fun or commenting on this video for some reason... like the 2nd last fellow who claims someone has no life...
you are posting n this. you are mocking people who you claim are lifeless. you are then, just as paethetic, if not just as pathetic, as those who are carrying on, on the internet.
I am wondering why you keep suggesting that I am proficient in Latin. I only mentioned a common phrase used by English speaking peoples all over the world. E Pluribus Unum is found on our currency. Semper Fi is the Marine Corps motto.
And many Latin phrases are used by attorneys. I doubt if they are proficient in Latin. One of my favorite phrases is "Res Ipsa Loquitur," which roughly translates into "The thing speaks for itself." I find that it fits you like a glove. You are a troll...
Ignore this shit eating little cretin you saw is profile and so have I. creepy isn't it? Perhaps pathetic is a more appropriate term, regardless he's a sick little parrot with no sense just a good case of verbal diarrhea.
Wow... You got me man... Do you ever leave the computer in your mom's basement? Go ahead and comment back ASAP. Maybe I'll get back to you in a week or two. It must suck to have no life at all. I guess your big plan to become an internet sensation hasn't worked out for you. You might have to get a real job...
lexave... Click on richarthripp's link and everything will be explained. Including his continual reliance on ad hominem attacks on those who disagree with him.
I only checked out a few of his videos. It's quite interesting that he is the only one who seems to comment on them.
You'll also love the excerpts from his writings. Too bad he didn't stick to his little page and continue engaging in conversations with himself. While he languishes on an old couch in his mom's basement...
"Algebra has yet to prove itself very useful as there's really no great need to mix the alphabet into math problems."
I can only assume this is a typo as algebra is a fundamental description and predictor of all observable phenomena. What on earth do you mean by this statement?
"it should be used for those sciences concerned with curing diseases and improving our lives."
Such as the learning the evolutionary process of a drug resistant virus, or learning of the evolutionary history of disease or the evolutionary mechanisms involved in genetic disorders?
And who discovered the errors? More competent scientists, or a holy man living in a cave listening to voices in his head? Every mistake you list is a tribute to the scientific method. It is self correcting discipline that encourages criticism. The antithesis would be religious dogma, where all exploration and dialog violently stop.
Abiogenesis is what one would call "work in progress". whatever.
We need theoretical science to understand the universe. Practical solutions that science gives us, be that computers, cars or medicine is based on theoretical science you're so opposed to.
Don't be. If you are so worried it's all made up -- why don't you work to be a better scientist?
The people who form those theories KNOW what they are talking about, even if it sounds crazy i have confidence and trust in their work. BEACAUSE SCIENCE WORKS! and we see it work all around us.
So, if you don't trust science you might as well never open a computer because goblins are going to jump out and eat your face.

They have a broad audience and should respect the responsibility that comes with it.
crock703 3 years ago
What do they owe their audience? they shouldnt change what they have to say after considering their audience. if people like what they have to say then they will watch, if they dont like it they wont watch. its not like they are on after school gets out and have to consider if children are watching, adults are the audience. presumably adults can think for themselves, and dont need TV personalities to treat them like children. What responsibility are you talking about?
gcoxumw 3 years ago
People who take to a public platform as present themselves as commentators/op-ed voices, have a responsibility to give their honest opinions. Bill O and similar folks are being irresponsible b/c their outrage is manufactured (admittedly so.) When their objective is to make money, rather than being a genuine social critic, and their 'product' changes to maintain the former over the latter, they're just being an entertainer.
crock703 3 years ago
TV is a weird unique media where consciously or not people believe they are engaging with someone, and they respond to charismatic figures that portray strong emotion (all people are drawn to the security of that sense of certainty.)
Although people should think on their own, and have their bullshit radars sharp and tv clickers ready, plenty of people don't. They absorb disingenuous junk and eventhough some tv guy gets a paycheck everyone loses.
crock703 3 years ago
didn't mean to rattle.. if someone's going to speak about serious issues, they should take it seriously.
If these opinion show guys were honest & primarily concerned with the social benefit their commentary might provide (instead of the financial benefit), they'd say "I don't know" a lot more. You never hear that though, b/c they're entertainers (whether they're aware of it or not), and the colorful indignation, certainty, humor, etc is what they're peddling - not honest critique.
crock703 3 years ago 2
i agree with you that the manufactured outrage is ridiculous and merely for entertainment. but to assume that you can read someone's mind and know their "true" opinion is pretty presumptuous. you are correct when you say if they were being entirely honest they would say i dont know a lot more. however, it is impossible to tell how they really feel about anything. lets face it, they are talking heads.
gcoxumw 3 years ago
maybe miller does curb his true opinions at time, but i think he does it a lot less than the rest. it is either curb the opinion, or dont get your message out at all. if you dont play ball every once-in-a-while, they just dont let you on TV. i think that anchors see their position as one i which they are getting paid to hit talking points, not offer their real opinions. an anchors/pundits opinion is not any more relevant than yours or mine.
gcoxumw 3 years ago
if someone's opinion is less informed or disingenuous, if definitely less relevant.
crock703 3 years ago
when it comes to news, how is any opinion relevant? if you pay attention to their interpretation of the events then that is your problem. If Barrack Obama says something like i think that the rich should pay more taxes, and brian williams says i think this is really going to hurt him with the white collar voters. does it matter what brain williams thinks? the only thing that matters is that you know what obama said and the actual results of it, not some anchors prediction of the outcome.
gcoxumw 3 years ago
if you want to place blame for the corruption of the free press, then look to GE (NBC), Westinghouse (CBS), Disney (ABC), Time-Warner (CNN), and News Corp (Fox News). they set the agenda. Bill O, Miller, Olberman, Blitzer, Mathews, Williams, Gibson, are simply spokesmen for their employer, i think most people could make that connection. Getting real news is not difficult. like you say, you just need to have your bullshit filter in place. go to several sources of news then make up your own mind.
gcoxumw 3 years ago
Regardless of whatever state the media is in, the point remains that they should respect the responsibility that comes with the platform.
crock703 3 years ago
who dictates this responsibility? who says that they are required say what they really think. they are not paid to have an opinion, they are paid to expound on the opinions of their employers. there is no such thing as objectivity when it comes to people. ti would prefer transparency to false objectivity, say that this is a liberal/conservative network and you will be getting the opinion of a liberal/conservative analyst. there is no such thing as a pure press, there never has been.
gcoxumw 3 years ago
I think you're having a conversation an imaginary other here...
My argument has nothing to do with objectivity, just conscience.
They're liars b/c they misrepresent themselves, whether its their journalistic credentials (purpose of their program -inform or entertain), the sincerity of their speech, or the source of their 'opinions.'
Call it whatever the fuck they want. Don't whore yourself & spread dishonest pith when you know full well people are tuning in expecting 'to learn'.
crock703 3 years ago
I think he speaks above his own head. Using obscure references does not make you intelligent. And it takes away from the humour as well.
johnedwards1968 3 years ago
true, obscure references dont make you intelligent, but they do make you more informed or well read than the average person. in most cases i would prefer well informed to more intelligent. there are very few situations that require a staggering intellect to understand. however, if someone is well informed they usually have a much easier time getting their heads around any given issue.
gcoxumw 3 years ago
I think you're missing my point about obscure. By focusing your attention on the obscure, you lose your focus on the more common. This can be an almost anti-wisdom. I know that's not a proper term or anything. What I'm getting at, is that you can unlearn common sense, by focusing on the obscure. I see no guarantee that focusing your attention on the obscure, makes anyone more well informed in any case.
johnedwards1968 3 years ago
i dont think he focuses on the obscure. commenting on the obscure reminds people that the issue under discussion is not always common. to think that all you need to be informed on any given topic is to be familiar with the common seems to be a little shallow. that is like saying non-violence worked for ghandi and king, it must work in every situation. an understanding of the common may allow you to understand an issue, but it rarely allows you to contribute anything new to it.
gcoxumw 3 years ago
Oh, he definitely does focus on the obscure. And his references are questionable a lot of the time too. I take your second point at value, and I agree with it. However, I really don't find Dennis Miller has anything new to contribute, to be completely honest. He uses these references to feign intelligence, but offers nothing but boiler-plate conservatism.
johnedwards1968 3 years ago
He may offer nothing but boilerplate conservatism, but that is only a symptom of the same disease that democrats and conservatives alike have fallen victim to as of late. Periodic outbreaks of demagoguery are all too common. If the populous would go beyond a common understanding of issues such as health, energy, education, etc., we would immunize ourselves against the boilerplate conservatism and liberal fascism that has plagued this country.
gcoxumw 3 years ago
You probably should have said boilerplate liberalism. Calling it fascism betrays your own biases, and that is a symptom of the plague which you speak. I believe you're trying to be honest in your approach, and that's why I offer this constructive criticism.
johnedwards1968 3 years ago
i dont think that calling it fascism is an overstatement, though i could have said the same of the conservatism that is running rampant. i dont know what else you could call this lumbering, steamrolling, behemoth nanny state. my point with "liberal fascism" was a reference to the book of that title, and how you can cover up fascism with compassion. Just because clinton, or obama, or george bush claim they have you best interests at heart doesnt mean their policies are not fascist.
gcoxumw 3 years ago
Fair enough! I guess there are some extremists on both sides. I think most liberals are a little liberal, and most conservatives are a little conservative. I think both the extremes can be pretty dictatorial, so I get your point.
johnedwards1968 3 years ago
First let me say that it is nice to actually read some intelligent discourse on these video comments pages, more times than not, it is disheartening that people can be so rediculoulsly naive, mean, and honestly just plan stupid. That said, I find while your discourse is insightful and intelligent, you both have profoundly "over" thought this one. "Just the facts", is just a flavorless story, Dennis is the "lagniappe" of what would otherwise be a boring, fact filled exsistance.
am60mo 3 years ago
Doth we protest too much? i dont think the issues was over thought, just over argued. These comment pages are great mental gymnastics, and are a lot more entertaining than math problems and puzzles. you have to keep the razors honed, and this is the easiest way to keep sharp. as you say, more often than not, i find myself bantering with imbeciles. johnedwards 1968 is a rarity, it is much easier to argue with someone who makes clear, concise points. we all rise to the level of our competition.

Man has, throughout the ages, created gods for every conceivable event and happening he feared and couldn`t understand.
One of man`s foremost fears is not knowing what happens after one dies.
Did the present god evolve from the previous gods because of this fear?

This is not a "fact," inconvenient or otherwise. By your logic, you could argue that Hitchens attacked god to "get love" from the left, and got invited on left-leaning shows despite his support for the war. Of course, his critique of religion predates his support of the war, and he has long been a staple on both left and right shows. Make sure your neural signals are firing before posting again.
petenow44 4 years ago
He was never a "staple" on "right" shows until he lost his mind in 2003.
snesich 4 years ago 4
First, I wasn't talking to you. Secondly, he attacked the Clintons on his own, not from "the Left," which was left covering up for Clinton and excusing his behavior at every opportunity. Third, his reasons for backing the Iraq war only occasionally intersect with Bush's stated reasons, if you'd take the time to read any of Hitchens's works, rather than engage in ad hominem attacks against a man who's got a greater moral sense than exhibited by most on the so-called Left or Right.

Abiogenesis is what one would call "work in progress". whatever.
We need theoretical science to understand the universe. Practical solutions that science gives us, be that computers, cars or medicine is based on theoretical science you're so opposed to.

jesokingcryst 4 years ago
Algebra is the base for all modern science.
modeling of solar system allows us for example create a good calendar.
"how life has evolved from non-living matter" -- that's Abiogenesis.
And making ANY medicine would be impossible without the study of theoretical chemistry and biology.
You need a good theory to work for new solutions.

Philosophical/theoretical sciences are essential to the development of practical solutions.
