Flawless. Superb. Sincere. Just heard your rendition of hansadhwani and maru bihag. I am UK based. Look forward to seeing you play live. Really enjoying it. Listening to it as I am commenting. Best wishes.
@anillpillai - it's a microphone called Countryman E6. The goal of using it is twofolds. Unlike a regular mic, it is very minimalist and does not create visual obstruction. It is also very good in picking subtle details of sound such as microtones and volume variations.
Hi Prasad, Loved your version of Maru Bihag - Many thanks for the post - enjoyed it.
I was wondering what headset mic you use here - I was planing to get one and it would be useful for me to have some feedback about your experience with the one you are using here.
Oh!! Man...what on earth can make me feel so much at PEACE than this music...I LOVE this....and I have great respect for this person \!/ May God Bless You \!/
The bansuri: paradoxically both one of the most simple instruments in the world and one of the hardest to play well. The music in this video is ethereal and other-worldly - not to mention stupendously beautiful. Than you for the upload.
hello prasad, is it possible to get somehow the recordings from ur hariji lessons. there is a link on ur bansuriflute web-page but there is nothing behind it (at least it shows an error after having clicked on it). I would realy like to hear those, so it would be more than great if u have any idea?!
@bubmaterial I was wondering about the same thing some time ago and after some googling I discovered something called Indian harmonium. Supposedly it was based on european design and modified for needs of Indian musicians.
Actually Harmonium is a different instrument (I used to play Harmonium as a kid). The instrument that creates backdrop for Indian classical music is called Tanpura. It is a drone instrument that looks similar to Sitar. You can read more about it on my website.
In this concert, I used electronic version of it - its an iPhone app called iTablaPro.
