  • What tempo is it?

  • @1.40 it reminds me of life in the fast lane, but being able to keep a cool head about it.

  • Crimen Sollicitationis

  • Awesome video, looks like random segments, but fits perfectly with the TCO song... nice shots, nice edition and Flite is a great choice! Congrats ;)

  • This RAQs reminds me of 4hero!! Dope!!!

  • loves luke flowers too :)

  • awesomeness overflow.

  • This is a pretty cool video.

  • whooa! hella birds!!! and a whale! bears!!! oh damn!!! lol MONKEYS!!! yes very nice video bro. big ups

  • Comment removed

  • woa, the birds are cool (:

  • HONG KONG!!!!!

  • it's cool how you managed to capture the ambience in such random objects and events.. the old ladies are a bit random tho lol :)

  • Central's elevator in Hong Kong :)

  • Man, you've made a gorgeous video. And, of course, TCO is one of the best bands I've never heard.

  • There are a lot of good ideas in this video.

But I don't like the whole animal footage.

    Definitely too much bears etc.

  • ...great the bird slow motion flight after the first rhythm change. Less interesting the second part with movie clip, because induce less movement, and seem not connected. I think the slow motion are better because give a sense of synchronization and the complexity of movements (seems to fit well with the rhythm).

    Anyway, a nice video.

  • Cool video , sound&pictures conected in best way

    TAHNKS!

  • great song..... master work your video!!!!

  • i need help from any guys who know the cinematic orchestra very well, there is a song from them that has a like 2 minute long very soft brass part and then a guitar at the end, does anyone have any idea what song i'm talking about

  • oh my god..the vid fits exactly to the music..i couldn't imagine any vid for this music style..what were u smoked before u have this in your mind?? lol..anyway it's fantastic

  • man, this is just the way i see thing when i listen to this song.

  • very nice song, very nice video.

  • This drummer came from outtaspace playing this 7/8...!!!

He makes this irregular tempo so comfortably, perfect and beautiful.

    Thanks for this video.

  • @guillermozart Ever heard about Neil Peart?

  • great track!

  • a really good video - awesome track

  • Sometimes you just can't tell the time signature. A good composer can keep it a total mystery if they want to. However, I'm not suggesting that this applies to this peice.

  • Hi am really loving your video it goes so well with this track. Gold star top of the class lol!

  • VERY VERY nice job, sir!

  • Very nice.

  • Its fucking 7/8 everybody!!!!

  • dude this video is awesome and its like just perfect for this song good job

  • The Bass Is Pretty!! My Dad Could So Play This If He Had A C.D. or something to hear and compare from!!!!

  • perfect video ,betmen serbia

  • can't stop watching this.. it's awesome.

  • thanks, its been a while since I was in Britain. I assumed, we know what they say about assumption ;-)

I do know certain programmes can be filmed in conjunction with each other, eg Ch 5 used to film at the MTV studios in Camden. And that NBC in America works with the BBC24 News team. But thanks for clearing that up for me. Peace :-)

  • Radio One isn't just audio, they have their own TV station, as well as access to MTV Dance. Think outside the box mon ami... ;-)

  • It was for Radio One online.

The Tv station is called BBC

MTV Dance has nothing to do with it...

  • Errr, why would you make a video for radio? Isn't there a something slightly wrong with that? Do you also wear your pants on your head?

  • I personally don't think they'll ever top 'Every Day', 'Ma Fleur' was a bit disappointing.

Luke Flowers is playing his arse off on this track

  • yeah i wasn't a big fan of 'ma fleur' either...

  • I LOVE IT

    im soo converted.....damn...

anybody recommened any other insanely burning tracks?

  • I LOVE IT

    im soo converted.....damn...

anybody recommened any other insanely burning tracks?

  • One of the top 10 lounge / downtempo songs ever!

  • respect

  • This has one of the most cookin, most moving and grooving drums beats I've ever heard... And Zerge83 is a pretentious fuck

  • love the video, dont get the point of it, but very fun to watch. Great Job

  • Love this video....

  • You've done a great job, Sandwichesonmylegs :-)

  • yummie.

  • Wonderful

  • cinematic orchestra, hmm, what can I say in a few mere words to dignify the visually and harmoniously aesthetic, musically poetic, flawlessly executed magnanimously orcestrated, cinematic masterpiece... ONCE AGAIN, NEVER CEASING TO AMAZE. RESPECT.

  • hes my drum teacher :D

  • Awesome! Show him the video and let me know what he thinks - he's a fantactic drummer.

  • @mrcallywal

I wish I could afford that!

  • @mrcallywal I'd like to say that you are (or at least were 4 years ago) one of the luckiest people in the world! Luke is my drumming idol.

  • I came to this video after doing a search for 'the cinematic orchestra' as I love then so much. And what a great video you have put to the stunning music. I love the analogy of 'flite' used showing life 'constantly on the move' whether it be people, nature or technology. Excellent effort!

  • isnt it nice how this has been on here 4 months and not that many people have seen it. we're a priveliged minority!!!!

  • thats the Cinematic Orchestra in a nutshell-they are so unsung

  • TCO are the greatest band working today anywhere! This video is the nuts too, especially the first time the break kicks in and the shots of the birds is cut in. Awesome!

  • amazing music!

  • Cinematic Orchestra- I'm speechless, genius!

  • GOOD ONE.

  • His independence is phenominal. I wish i could do completely different things with all 4 limbs!

  • I know! people always talk about Moby Dick having the best drum solo ever but this song rips them all to shreds. Its 7/8 time for goodness sake

  • to be truthful 7/8 is no-way near as hard to play in a time sig. like 13/8 or 11/8

7/8 has easy subdivisions like 2+2+3 (this song)

    and 4+3 or 3+4....

it is hard to define a division such as 2+3+2, or at least hard to define where the down beat is -in my opinion....

  • well it's true, out of the odd time signatures 7/8 is one of the more easy ones to play in general - but you can't generalize it, in my opinion. I once saw jojo mayer playing a 21/16 groove and it didn't sound as half as uneven as i first thought it would.

So if you break down a "complex" pattern into easier subdivisions (as you mentioned) it will be sooo much easier to play! and the hardest part will always be jumpin between different time signatures, like in Mathcore.

  • shut up. 21/16 my fucking asshole.

  • think about it dude.

    its just 5 bars of 4/quarter notes (=20/16) + 1 semi-quaver (16th note) (=21/16)

In gamalan/balinese percussion stuff you come across LOTS of DODGY time signatures and that kind of stuff GROOVES if it's written/played properley and with the right feel.

  • ...or simply 7/8.

I agree. Hard to write an asymmetrical time signature with a groove. It's definately the bassline that that puts it together.

I believe its also that the elctric piano is accented on the first and fifth count with the drums accented on the first, third, and fifth.

  • yeah 7/8 - i was replying to something else below.

    yup, 2-2-3.

  • I'm not lying. Luke Flowers is my drum teacher haha. I'll get a pic or video next time I have a lesson off him.

But yeah, he can do it flawlessly in real life, it's nice to know its not just in the mix where things can be changed etc.

I can ask him next time if you want personally? haha :)

I know it sounds hard to believe and you get randomers on youtube telling all sorts of lies but its true.

  • @RyanPlantDrummer if this guy is your drum teacher hes probs one of the dopest drummers ever!!! no lie

  • truly awesome drumming by Luke Flowers

  • cheers guys! appreciated

  • you did a great job with this.

  • yes!!!...

  • Thank you! got any more!
