xopartygal13 COMPLETELY agree! If I spoke to a young girl who said that to me I would be calling the cops ASAP and try to keep the whole family in the store. I seriously think that some of these sightings are people who simply see a little blonde girl with a fringe and think 'OMG that's Maddie!!!' It is so heartbreaking that some leads where never followed up though, I can't imagine how the parents are feeling - they are very strong people.

A student who insists she saw Madeleine McCann in a French cafe told yesterday how the girl answered to her name and had the same eye mark.

Melissa Fiering, 18, spotted the little blonde girl with a dark-skinned man near Montpellier. She said: "I know Madeleine's got a defect in her right iris and when I looked this girl had it too.

"I called her name and she looked up at me. I knew then it was definitely her."

The man grabbed the girl and hurried away before Melissa could stop him.

CCTV footage, including a close-up said to clearly show the mark in her eye, is now being rushed to Kate and Gerry McCann so they can study it.

Melissa said when she and a detective studied a close-up of the girl from the footage, in which the iris mark was visible, he turned to her and said: "It's definitely Madeleine."

As the film was yesterday being rushed to the McCann's home in Rothley, Leics, their spokesman Clarence Mitchell struck a note of cautious optimism.

i got to the church and i prayed for her . there was her last photo and hearts and candles ,

woman spoke English and said they ran a small circus in France.
