How do these tires handle in the winter in wet slippery snow slush ice? I need grip and traction in those conditions. I need a tire for my truck because I do some plowing here in New England.
I put a set of 33 x12.5x20 mtz's on my 04 f150 and expected to get 20k miles from them but I now have 35k miles and they look like there half tread I'm very impressed with them but I must add that I have them balanced and rotated every 3 k miles thank you wallmart lifetime rotation haha!!!
I brought my tyres about 15,000 kms ago after reading all the stories about them in 4wd monthly and other 4wd mags. I brought 5 at $350 each 285/75/16 off I went Wheel alignment was 100% tyre pressure was at 38psi as per the factory settings for that tyre well so I was told by the fitters.
Anyway to cut the story short Ive done 15,000kms on them and from the 15mm depth they were new they now are down to 6mm in 15,000kms email me for pictures
I was disappointed in the overall wear too as I got 23000kms @ 60% worn not to mention they started getting large chips out of the outer lugs after 14000kms
I've got the 32" MTZ's on my 07 Hilux. I'm a little disappointed with the tire wear, especially at the front.
I have to say though that I'm extremely happy with their off road performance and they would have to be the quietest mud tire on the road with good grip in the wet.
ive got 33" x 12.5" baja mtz's on my 94 4runner, i swear by them, hillclimbs, desert & dune driving or rock terrain. great life out of them too. i had BFG mudders before that, theres no comparison. mickey thompsons are a great tyre
I ended up a little disappointed with the MTZ when after 23,000km's the tyres had 40% life left but also suffered large chips in the outer lugs along with cracking in front of the outer lugs
i have o cars one is a hilux and the other is a cruiser and both i run micky ts mtz and in the cruiser i do comp it a a 1hz 75 and its runny a 350 chev and the tyers handle the extra power and im realy happy with them there not as good is sand then anything else tho but for wat i do its the best tyer i recomend them
Personally l would go for the Goodyear Wrangler MT/R with Kevlar. They handle very good on mud ice and slush

Chipping! You dopes! Any aggresive tire will get chipping or chunking.
Ever see the BFG tires run by Trophy Trucks in Baja? Not at all an agressive tire.Thats cause with 700hp, an agressive tire would be turned to shreds.
Easy on the pedal!

Got the 285/75/16 version on my 1994 GMC Yukon
After 50,000km they're getting near bald.
I wish there was more gap in the center tread area but then it would need the rock kickers as well to keep from being punctured by gravel.

Probably due to sharp rocks during offroad which any tire will suffer. Mine only saw mud other than gravel.
