  • Love it!!!!!

    Monica

  • the lyrics are very well written and I love how you start out slow and build it up. The song is quite appropriate for our times and I really do love the lyrics. I do have to say that you had some vocal spots were you were off key slightly with or without the harmony. I love the fact that you included the harmony.

I like the way you played the song acoustically with your strums and beats.

Very well written, like i said would LOVE to hear your music professionaly recorded and mixed.

  • Very nice song-crafting here, Justin. I felt compelled to listen to the whole song. I can imagine the reception you might get in a concert hall with a good backup band.

  • Nice song..you have an original presence about you. I'm really digging your material. Scott

  • Teriffic stuff!!

  • Nice Songwriting.

  • Brilliant tune Justin...I got more life in me...than the life I've lived in veindig the write upor the rite upor the right upwonderful tune Justin...we are responsible for our own actions...and change...although...friends help a lot...

  • five stars***** Justin

  • I like your play on words, it worked on this one. I like your change in strumming pattern on the bridge, it really drives your point home. Lyrics are also one of your strong points. well done!

  • nice one Justin!

  • Hi Justin, I think this is your best!!

    Brian

  • I really like this one, Justin. Great chorus. It has real momentum and is very catchy. Interesting sound you have on the guitar too. It sounds like percussion. Do you have an effect on it?

  • Perfect.

  • This is some of your best work! 5 stars.

  • Hey Justin. I like homophones and puns too! Nice song, as usual. Enjoyed the harmonising. Heard this by Elvis?: "They put the numb into number/put the cut into cutie/put the slum into slumber and the boot into beauty..."

  • Hollow words, Good arrangement , something always wonderful, Beautiful,

fantastic, blindsided me, awesome, Thought provoking, Beatleish.

Just with even some of the most recent comments, made by true fans, you should know you are truly talented.

I could not say any more than has already been said.

    Brian

  • Nicely done! I don't know if you intended the political message that i received from listening to this song but if you did rest assured you are preaching to the choir brother! They say we needed change and it would do us good, blind sighted falling rain with empty letters hollow words, but the reign will do us good! I'll remember where I stood when the levee breaks and this thing comes crashing down.....Epic!!

  • Great job Justin love the lyrics and the bit at around 3.oo . Good arrangement with the vocals too man. Top job!

  • There is something always wonderful about rain in a song, The Who is a great example, Bob Dylan 'Buckets Of Rain', Peter Gabriel 'Red Rain' so many great songs with Rain in the title. I would class this one as one too, reminded me of R.E.M. song at the start I don't know which one. Anyway love the song very strong lyrics and the harmonys where spellbinding.

  • Another one for my favorite here...I don't even know where to start...The lyrics are simply fantastic and I love the way the rapidly switching chord progression in the chorus flows perfectly with your vocal rhythm... and the part from 3:04 to 3:22 was extra phenomenal...For a song that's 5:02 minutes long it seemed to fly by in a light second...Time for that replay button...

  • It's cool the way the harmony slips in here. it totally blindsided me in a great way. I like playing with words as well. I like the rain, reign play. again, I hear a big Sufjan Stevens influence in your music which is great. I don't know if it is intended or not. especially from 3:05 to 3:20. A beautiful piece of the song there.

    nice job Justin.

    Paul

  • nice job with the lyrics, i like the way this one builds up throughout, then the little break and then into that awesome ending! nicely arranged.

  • Thought provoking song and clever play on words (rain/reign). enjoyed the harmonies as well.

  • Really, really cool song, Justin. 'Has a lovely 'Beatleish' energy about it :]

    - Stu -

  • Once again a masterpiece:)

deep thoughtful lyrics silently backed up by your guitar... it's damn good;)

  • Some thoughts: the melody of the chorus, especially in the last verse has a jubilant feel, like wedding bells. It is a nice contradiction (on the surface) to the lyrics in that part. I like the riff that you stick in a couple times, and the lyrics create strong images of something like Katrina. Great job!

  • Great job..Very well done..Fantastic "ear" candy..

    Craig

  • This is possibly your very best song and arrangement to date, or at least it is from my view anyway. The lyrics are very provocative and will invite many different response from people who will read into it what they are experiencing themselves... which is what good writing always does. -Ron

  • *****

  • A really nice song Justin. Well written and performed. *****

  • Does your cleverness ever cease? *takes Five more stars out her back pocket and slaps 'em down* I agree with Ciarian, (ronb15) Raz and Rick (bios) on this one.

  • Great potential Justin a real beauty! Melody words and chords go together with ease and blend in beautifully!

    Rick

Oh! Like the harmony arrangement too!

  • Excellent song!

  • A complete journey, exceptionally deep and harmonically pleasing. From someone with add I listened to the whole thing - twice so far. Love it Justin, no ambivalence about it here! Epic stars. ~ Raz

  • Excellent Justin. I like how it takes a completely different turn when the harmonies come in. You could just hear in your minds ear the full band sound there.

    ~Amy

  • this is really great dude.. as always its a joy to listen to your new music ! 5*

  • I think it's a great song! Reminds me a little of the band REM. You did a super job, and I know what you mean about how your opinion of a song can change. I go back and forth all the time about my songs and covers. It can really sound great to me and a few days later, I'm not so sure.
