@warrriorcats1996 People hate Hinamori because she's percieved as weak and she was used. In Japan people LOVE her for the same reason that Americans hate her; her naivete, her ability to trust and try to find good in everyone. She isn't strong and independent which is counter-productive to feminism or some bullshit like that. I guess she's weak because she was manipulated, in some people's opinions. I think the fact that she's still standing after everything that's happened shows she's strong.

But Karin only called him by his first name because she ask him his name. She didn't know who he was until the end of the episode and even so I don't thik she would have called him differently.

From my memory momo called him "shiro-chan" (much to his anoyance) until he attended shinigami school in witch she reverted to calling him toushiro or hitsugaya. and as anarchysangel pointed out, h could hardly expect people that have no idea of soul society or the gotei 13 to call him captain hitsugaya, because that would be... well weird =]
