I think people are looking at this at too close a range. This isn't about America or Germany or North Korea or any specific place regionally. This is about humanity, people. the video does pose a fantasy world. I dont see how we expect to make 3rd world terrorist countries feel accountable to us. Nuclear weapons are designed to kill large numbers of civilians and destroy cities. They target ordinary people. And homes. And schools. Ask the people of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. The issue isn't just a practical one. It's a moral one. .. On the practical side, the status quo of "the nuclear club" has only encouraged proliferation. Terrorists long to get a bomb and use it. India, Pakistan, North Korea, Iran -- how can you justify a continuation of our flawed system?

I would agree that nukes are designed to kill large numbers of ppl. I also agree that it is a moral issue. I just don't see that Obama's wanting them gone is actually going to achieve that goal. You and others may disagree but I think the U.S. is a moral country. I can't say that about the terrorists or certain governments, Iran being one. I don't see that we can allow them to have them and I don't see how we can insure that they don't...even with Obama as President.

The biggest delusion is that nuclear weapons are there to protect us or that we are vulnerable without them. That is outdated, Cold War thinking. As Pres. Obama said, it's time for us to get rid of the biggest threat to humanity. Multi-lateral, phased and verifiable steps towards nuclear disarmament make sense. They only way we survive on this planet is through cooperation. Working for the abolition of nuclear weapons provides an opportunity to create a new level of international cooperation.
