  • Um this is good I'll always take the bullet with more lead than powder lol! But it will only grow if made for popular platforms cheaply done. Like Glock, or Beretta, etc...

  • must haz upper

  • This video reminds me of Max Hedram.... Glitchy.. thumbs down.

  • really nice job of limp wristing that 44 mag @ about the 1:20 mark to make the recoil look worse than it really is.

  • Can't buy jack squat from the 460 Rowland website because the add to cart buttons are jacked up. They also do not answer emails. He must have choked on a cheese burger and died.

  • i dont understand how this isnt considered a +P+ bullet? the case wall is thicker than a .45acp so you can load it really high. how is a little thicker case a "New Cartridge"? Im so tired of all these new calibers that are SOOOO alike (.222, .223 for ex) it makes no sense

  • @greatestsongsofLIFE reworked brass and extra case length separate the .38 special from the .357 mag, but in the minds of most shooters these are two distinct cartridges.

  • After doing much research on 460 Rowland cartridge I decided to go ahead and build one on a 1911 frame.

I have to admit I was skeptical at first as to how it would perform but it does exactly what he claims,

It is essentially a grossly over powered 45 ACP that blows big holes in things.

It is very much like a 44 Magnum or a 45 Win Mag without the bulk.

Factory loads are expensive for the 460 Rowland so if you get one you may want to consider loading you own.

  • works "well"

  • sell Johnny sell!

  • Not sure I buy his statement that the 45 round he is using has "more horsepower" than a 7.62 x 39. Up that close a 5.56 NATO will do same thing to loose lying cynder blocks. Let's see what that round's energy falls to at say 100 yards. He's a good salesman though I suppose. I just don't generally like taking carbines to rifle fights ya know.

  • I don't see 800 ft. lbs. of muzzle energy with a 230 gr. bullet as equal to a .44 Mag 240 gr. bullet putting over 1200 ft. lbs of energy. Is my math wrong or what? My handloaded .44 hunting rounds supposedly generate around 1500 ft. lbs. at the muzzle and are still well above 1200 ft. lbs. at about 75 yds. The muzzle velocity is above 1550 ft. per second and the recoil is not much different than a 300 gr. bullet going much slower.

  • You just cannot find there products. I didn't even know about the AR upper until now

  • Lol Johnny, you placed extra emphasis on the recoil of the .44 Mag. Props though, you're one hell of a sharp cat. Game recognizes game, so to speak.

  • The 1911 kit has a compensator, hardly a fair comparison to the revolver. And just as chickenshit, if the 44 kicks that much when you shoot it, you sir, are an asshat.

It is interesting, and I would like to try it out, but at least be honest and don't feed me gun magazine propaganda.

  • @Bennjill - Depending on the model, a converted .460 will happily eat your normal .45ACPs with no problem. I've heard of 1911s having issues, but a buddy of mine has a converted Springfield XD that burned through mag after mag of each with no issues. A fun game is for one person to load random .460 Rowlands throughout a magazine of .45ACPs and keep the shooter guessing. It's really good for practicing surprise break... You WILL feel the difference!

  • Awesome bullet man, always wanted a 44 mag. power bullet in a 1911, other than the Desert Eagle, No disrespect.

  • so im guessing this beats the tommy gun

  • We can't tell, he doesn't shoot the gun in full auto mode.

  • That was a great video. I really like the tree and the blindfold. LOL....

  • i love the video! the part with the blocks is the best! he mentions mgi alot, good luck getting them to answer the phone/email or help with a technical issue, or just plain getting your order correct.

  • i got my kit about a year ago no problems. if anything i thought they were very helpful. by the way the gun kicks some serious ass. if you haven't got one yet you got to hurry.

  • He exaggerates the recoil on the 44mag way to much..

  • @cazybeast2 he does. but he is selling the shit out of the conversion kits for 1911s.

  • @cazybeast2 (1 year later)

he is not exaggerating the recoil, he is putting less presser on his wrist

by forcing the kinetic energy in the gun upwards in a swing motion

    :o)

  • i want the rowland conversion for my ruger p90. It's a tough can that'll handle that heavy shit better than any 1911.

  • i read about this cartridge in sweeneys book of the 1911 volume 2. very intrigued but don't know that it's worth purchasing a 1911 in such an unknown cartridge. if tshtf .460 will be hard to find. 45 acp should be more readily available. still, you gotta love the 1000 pound feet in a 1911 platform. i'd love to shoot one. that would settle the matter for me.

  • When SHTF your not going to be able to get any ammo

  • this video is great, he has a nice screen presence. I was wondering, how does the 460 rowland compare to the 50 beowulf? also, does anyone know of any 460 carbines not in the AR platform?

  • Masterpiece Arms also makes a 460 Rowland carbine. Personally, I'd want the AR.

  • I want one! Of each!

  • very impressive.... i still want a S&W .460 mag... he's talkin about almost half a ton of muzle energy, but the S&W .460 produces 1 and a quarter ton of muzzle energy

  • man i need to get me another 1911 and buy the freakin 460 conversion.... sounds like the Best HUNTING / Camping BUDDY that you'll want at your side in the Wilderness.

  • Blindfold the tree! Haha! Hilarious!

    Keep on rockin'!

    - Pax et bonum.
