  • i had similar thing with deer in michigan, i let then do what ever they wanted, it was great

  • Thank you for sharing these delightful videos and for sharing your garden and flowers with them. This is so sweet. I would be happy to plant a garden just to be able to share it with them. <3

  • Yum-Yum eat em up!

  • Moose mama: "This yard is the best! Fresh salad and clean water to drink.....and manicured soft lawn to sleep in. Humans know what moose like..."

  • We had a doe and some babies that lived in our woods and they had no regard for the fact that I was walking the dog. They were running across the street and if I was in the way, they would mow me down. I love these moose. They are so fun to watch. Thank you for sharing.

  • "A moose ate your flowers." Greatest excuse evarr!

  • LOL that was SO funny! nothing like showers first then lunch haha :) did you have any flowers left after all that munching? lol :)))

  • She looked up like "Yeah, ok buddy, keep telling yourself that" lolz

  • haha, it's like There Will Be Blood-

    I EAT YOUR FLOWERS.

  • In Fl we had a litte white tail doe that kept eating all of my flowers, we called her Blossom :)

  • "Don't eat the flowers."

    LOL

  • lol don't eat the flowers....but they are soo good nom nom nom

  • Hahaha! The moose is saying, "I'm a moose! I eat whatever I damn well please, so lay off!"

  • "You were saying? Oh, these flowers. What you're gonna do about it, huh?" :))))

  • LOL That's gentle persuasion was quite hilarious. "No, don't eat those. Go on, shoo. They are flowers.... please, don't eat those plants..." The mother moose looked up calmly, busily munching, as if to respond: "Thank you for growing this fresh, delicious salad. As you can see, I need the greenest, youngest, & most nutritious plants & leaves in order for me to have the energy... and milk ... to raise my demanding twins...."

  • @HenryDavidT Thank you for your insightful comments!Since you noticed my husband's gentle persuasion I'm not sure that you could hear my banging on the window and yelling "STOP EATING MY FLOWERS!" When my husband came inside from videoing them, I went outside, grabbed two baseball bats, banged them together and told her to "stop eating my flowers or I am going to turn off the sprinkler". She looked at me, walked over to her twins and directly lied down on our grass.Pix are on our channel.

  • @arcticsooner

OMG I am dying laughing at your husband!! Sounds like me trying to "lecture" my kitty not to jump on the counter...a totally futile effort! This is just FABULOUS!! YOU are SOOOOOO LUCKY!!!

  • are those moose your's?

  • @thechris2101 No, they are neighborhood moose. We have moose all around Anchorage that live in our neighborhoods. Thanks for the post!

  • @arcticsooner kool

  • are those moose your's

  • Have the mooses ever tried attacking you guys?

  • @leotheguido No, the moose are generally comfortable in the yard. Mother's bring their young almost immediately after they are born to neighborhood yards to eat. The mother is very protective the first week . After that she is back to eating and building her stores back up from the previous winter. As long as we are not teasing or bothering them they don't bother us. Even dogs incessantly barking doesn't usually bother them unless the dog tries to nip at them. Thanks for the post!

  • @arcticsooner Oh ok, that's really cool! No problem!

  • What state is this?

  • @leotheguido This is in Anchorage, AK.

  • @arcticsooner Oh ok, thanks! Nice backyard by the way! :D

  • I also watched another video of yours. This is so amazing. Thank you for posting these. How often do they come to your yard?

  • @edwinahc27 Moose come in our yard regularly. A year-ling came to our house almost daily for about a month last winter. My dog would bark at him and he would stay in our yard all day. I think they liked each others company:) These are neighborhood moose and they are use to dogs, children and yes even adults telling them to get out of the garden. We purposely planted flowers that moose do not eat. That was the only time a moose has ever tried to eat that plant. Thanks for your post!

  • I live in Scotland and I would have no problem with moose coming into my garden and eating my plants, I would just be speechless :O)

  • MOOOOOSSSEE!!! Omizebras, I love moose so much! >.< But I have never seen one in person DDX Moosey moosey moosey moosey! Do they come to your garden often? :O

  • @ChocolateInsanity911 Moose come to our yard regularly and eat the plentiful willow and mothers like to lay down on our hill with their calves. This winter we had an orphaned calf that would spend hours in our yard despite our pup barking at his heels. I think the calf liked the company. Glad you loved our moose! Thanks for the post. • What happened after you turned the camera off? Were you able to get it to stop eating your flowers, or would they get confrontational if you tried to get them to leave your flowers alone?

  • @Geethatsgr8 After my husband turned off the camera, I went outside and banged two baseball bats together to get her attention. I told her to stop eating my flowers or I was going to turn off the sprinkler. She looked at me, stepped out of the garden and pulled her babies away. Then they immediately layed down in the grass and we got the most beautiful pictures of them. One picture is on our channel as wallpaper. I think she was responsive to me because I turned the sprinkler on for them earlier.

  • @arcticsooner That's hysterical! I have never personally seen a moose (here in South Carolina, hehe) but my husband is from Upstate NY and has told me about them. I never realized exactly how BIG they could be, even after he described them, until watching your video. His friend was up North last month and one hit his car. He spent a few days in the hospital and the car was totaled of course (and no rental insurance. Doh!) Thanks for posting. I'm sure you get tired of all the questions! :-)

  • @Geethatsgr8 No, we never get tired of answering questions. We are amazed at all the interest. Take care,

    arcticsooner

  • awww i'm so jealous of you @articsooner. where i live in northern england the closest I've had to moose in my garden is a muntjac deer ha ha, where abouts do you live?

  • @LIVVify We live in Anchorage, Alaska. Thanks for your post! Arcticsooner

  • wow they come right to the house! must be some sight to see!

  • i cant believe they arnt so jumpy, must not be hunted.

  • gorgeous, let them eat them hahaha probably yummy

  • I noticed that you didn't walk out ther and try and shoo her away - with those young uns at her side probably woulldn't be a smart thing seeing how she'll dump grizzly ... or a ford pickup truck

  • These are some of the sweetest videos. You're so fortunate that they came and let you film them, I wish a moose family would come visit me!

  • That's funny! I would have been a little peeved at the site of a moose eating my flowers but I look at it this way:

Flowers can be replaced. The site of that moose with her twins? Priceless!

  • lol knocking on the window.. the mosse don't care lol

  • lol knocking on the window.. the mosse don't care lol

  • haha she's like "Oh don't eat THESE flowers?" Omnomnom

  • You gotta love them!

  • Ha, she looked up at you like, "whatever...."

  • oh yeah "Shoo!" ...that's funny. Especially the way she looked at you, like who you telling to shoo, pal?

I thought we had it bad with the deer here in NJ.

  • That's why you can't let them come in to entertain you.

  • reminds me of when a deer walked into a super walmart. Automatic doors opened, walked right past the people greeter and went to the produce department and started chowing down.

  • LOL!

  • Note to self, put a fence around the garden?

  • note to you, there is a fence genious

  • 1B go play with the other kiddies your own age.

  • I think you mean 'genius.'

  • genius*

  • did this moose get to know you? to feel comfortable in your presence? It looks like you're standing right in front of it.

  • To telling the Quinn off the forest not to eat the fower's sound's more as a wich than what is going to happening. A mosse with calv is maybee tacking a grissly ore other higher ranked preditor's then human serios ( sorry fore terribly Swed-Englich and dyslektiv spelling).

  • OMG !! GOSH !!

    HaHaaaaaaaaaaa !!!

I think they find the JackPot !!

    HaHaaaaaaaaaaa !!!

Oh ! This is so funny and not funny in the same time !! My God !!

Did, they eat your all Garden ???

    I hope not !!

    Very good video !

    10 ***** *****

    Puppet Cransky !

  • Amazing , So you and your family can be in the yard watching them and they don't run off

Hey I think she thought you said Eat the Flowers Plants ? lol

  • they're eating your plants! Lol

  • LOL THATS SO CUTEE

  • I wanted to say too, that ...even these comments are delightfully insightful. I'm humbled... feelings ...full of gratitude ...warmed

  • Wwhaat?......how enchanting?!? I've just discovered your site and it is a lovely place to visit. I live in the northern part of Canada where we see moose regularily however you have such a gracious way of sharing (even your vegetation) ...thank you ...thank you ...thank you

I giggled to myself when I heard you tapping softly on the window and thought I'd be tempted to run Momma off ... (just kidding) and when I heard your gentle admonishment I chuckled in empathy. well done!

  • I was just wondering, why do you have the sprinkler on? Doesn't it rain alot in Alaska?

  • Not really

    We have pretty good summers

This year the temp went up to the 70s

which was really nice considering last year was cloudy and windy

we do get rain but not tons. Maybe your thinking washington lol

  • moose^^ r so damn cute - ^.^

  • beautiful!! :)

  • no no dont eat the flowers

shes like what? ok eats them anyways

  • They are so beautiful! But she looks like she could eat that entire garden in one clip. LOL

  • Great video. You are so blessed to see these amazing 'mooooo-sons' in your backyard. I guess your moose are like my squirrels ;)

I enjoy your videos immensely. Thank you for taking the time to make this old soul sing!

  • So cute..thanks for the moose and bears videos, I enjoy them so very much. From VA

  • "dont eat the flowers"

    *mother moose eating the flowers*

  • are they wild

  • Yes, they're wild, but they're very acclamated to neighborhood living. Neighborhood noises don't generally scare them off, including children yelling and dogs barking or people telling them to get out of their flower beds :)

  • omg there sooooo cute luv moose!

  • You've provided a water fountain AND a buffet! I'm sure the moose love your cafe.

  • LOL I think that you'll need a 'scaremoose' instead of a scarecrow...

  • :) Thats awesome .. so funny you say dont eat those & shes looking at you like huh ??? & still eats !! Love the twins ... Thanks for posting another awesome video !!

  • that is just so beautiful. i subscribed i love your videos so much!

  • Haa. Thank you. How great to watch these beautiful animals. I laughed, too, when you said "Don't eat the flowers" and Mama Moose kept on eating. Ohh Thank you for posting.

    You made my day.

  • Wow, another great sight right out your window. I couldn't stop laughing when you told Mom not to eat the flowers and she keep right on helping herself.

I am a softie too and would let her enjoy.

It is worth it to see nature so close.

Thanks again for sharing these beautiful videos.

  • I love watching your moose family.... but that isn't my garden they're eatting.

  • haha, she likes fresh things from the garden too! you have been getting lots of visits from this family this summer. very cool! i hope u don't mind if i feature this vid in my blog too.

  • Hi DVP8196, we'd be honored to be on your blog.

This happened the same evening as moose in the sprinkler. I've only seen them once since that sweet day and it was this past Saturday but a man in a truck scared them off right before she crossed the street to come into our yard. I could see baby feet in the trees.

  • eating the flowers seems like a small price to pay for a moose family visit...

  • Hi wpbfjr,

That is why we have flowers and not vegetables. I doubt I'd think it to be so funny if they ate my summer supply of cauliflower and stash of carrots and potatoes.

But, I'm with you, I find it a small price to pay to have them visit. Besides they don't generally go after my flowers because they were specifically picked to NOT be moose food.

    Thanks for your post.
