@nordistelillois: From what I've heard it's about 4 times as powerful as this one.
MOAB=11t of TNT, destr.radius: 150m (Explosive charge: 8200kg)
FOAB=44t of TNT, destr.radius: 300m (Explosive charge: 7100kg)
So not only is it lighter, but also immensely more powerful.

I don't think power is that so important .
The only way to see this weapon in action is by using a C-130... and if u are able to use this plane = opponents are in a bad mood since a while ^^.
(just imagine this type of weapon with some AC 130 gunships .... pure FIREPOWER ORGY ^^)

The Russians claim its 4 times more powerful, but experts examining the footage and stats of the bomb say that at best it is only 50% more powerful, not 400%.

no it a ground impact bomb which mean it 30is percent less effective than the MOAB. the enegry goes into the ground and not the target.

MOAB produces the largest blast wave without nuclear energy. MOAB is not a bunker buster. It explodes above the ground charging the air utilizing the air to create a blast wave. Someonegetsteve is right the Russinas did not drop large bombs instead they used limited chemical, biological and nuclear weapons to destroy target civilians. They also raped, tortured and permanently injured women and children. They did not build schools, drill freshwaterwells, restore/provide electric and build roads.

RAF's Grandslam bomb 22,000lb was used in WWII against u-boat pens with 9 meter thick reinforced concrete walls... and what about Tsar Bomba? They hide behind masks, live in caves like rats and hide behind children and women and religion. They do not believe in the sanctity of life. As for the 22,000 pound bomb it blew up underground and is a fragmentation bomb. MOAB is a blast munition, hence the name Munition Ordinance Air Blast. It charges the air to create a blast wave.

brittish WWII Block Buster bomb, was bigger than MOAB it's weights 11 tn, and was carried by modified lancaster heavy bomber, lancaster is bigger than C 130. and also russian vacuum bomb is bigger and more powerful, they erase a small village used for the test

the block buster bombs were usually around 12000 pounds the largest being 22000 which is still 600 pounds less, but they were basically just conventional bombs the moab is not it has a much bigger blast. just 4 your info. but yeah the russian vacuum bomb is pretty much a larger version of this one

Why don't we use some of these in IRAQ, now? I would bet if we sent in a squadron of B-52's loaded to the gills with these things and wiped out one or more of there strategic strongholds in one pass I think we would be able to bring our boys home a lot sooner!
