my dog was like this. every time she went in the water you'd swear she was on a mission to find the way out. but then why did she jump in to begin with? i think she was looking for the floaty toys so she could lay on them.
to all who replied to me; i said i 'assume' this pool has chemicals in it, as in, it may or may not -- this is the same thing as you 'supposing' it might not, but agreeing that it might
as someone who has adopted and cared for many ferrets in his life, i have always been instructed (by breeders, adoption facilities, veteranarians, et cetera) and further instruct others not to submerge a domesticated ferret in water -- that is, do not put them in a body of water they cannot stand up in.
@lobotomystitches umm dude are u messed up in the head cause your neglect is totally messed up after all neglect means not paying any attention at all what your pet or child does even when do something that is harmful to themselves. the owner isn't neglecting there ferrets after all he or she is paying attention to them while they wim and not everyone has a pool that has chemicals in it. so ya read and get info of what neglect actually means before u say something is neglect when it isn't.
Wow guys seriously? All these comments about being an animal abuser is ridiculous! Ferrets are actually related to otters, and they are natural born swimmers. Personally I see nothing wrong with letting your fur-baby go for a swim every now and then. They sleep 22 hours so some exercise is needed. Plus the owner only let each of them go around 1nce! Let alone, the fact that the owner was right there watching and waiting making sure the animal was safe and out of harms way.
this is soooo cute! The music is perfect! My ferret likes to swim in the bathtub, but the water has to be somewhat warm (haha). Check my little Jasper out at my channel!
this is abusive to the ferrets. you're never supposed to submerge their ears in liquid, let alone put them in a bath of water that i assume has chemicals / chlorine in it.
natural swimmers or not, this is negligent of the owners, and i would gladly adopt these ferrets and ensure them a safe, healthy life.
You don't even know if the water was full of chemicals or not. This person could keep their pool un-chlorinated. And I find it very rude that you say how you'd adopt them into a more healthy and safe life. There is nothing negligent about the owner letting their pet swim, while obviously being watched. And as long as the fur-babies are enjoying it who cares?
@lobotomystitches Do you even know what neglect is? He/she is obviously paying attention to this animal. Not every pool has chlorine in it! I find this very offending. Do not assume, you could be (and are) wrong. And their ears are not submerged! They are enjoying it very much. I do not think you should even THINK about adopting a ferret until you get your facts straight. I don't wanna start anything, but that is just downright offensive to the owner.
Psh people should hush about the ferrets being abused or whatevs. Im sure the ferrets love it. x3 i mean. they are like otters. and if you look, there is a step where the ferrets could stand on to get out with their long bodies. but they chose not to. :P they could get out at anytime. Theyre fine. o3o
im not gona call it animal cruelty or anything because honestly the ferrets might enjoy it, i used to have cats adored red kidney beans, animals are weird and they like weird things.
at the same time, this isn't really good for them, the water is just washing oils out of their coats and all it will do is cause them to over produce oils plus despite them being related to otters this doesn't make them otters, if they go into the pool by themselves then fine but dont just place them in it...
@ourorboros2 I agree with you, I put my ferret in a pool the first thing he does is try to get out. When I give him bath he runs out of the bath tub....lol but then I saw that when the shower is on with warm water he likes it a little better
People need to stop bitching about thing's they don't even know, they are not those CUTE little ferrets, so, how do they know if they like it or not? :P i think they look like they are having a little fun, not the last one xD i mean was just chilling and all the sudden in a pool like "uh wtf??" but the first one looked like it was having fun :P the first one was cute .w.
@maddy101231 it depends where you live and where you get one. im getting mine in a couple of days as i have to wait for the cage to come in, but all together with the ferret, cage, food, toys , its going to cost me about 450$ :P hope that helped a little
Oh and people arguing over apparent animal abuse for putting ferrets in water, just stop already. You both think you're right and the other is wrong. This is simply the youtuber way. god damn youtubers.
@iluvrats345 It isn't bad for their skin, just dries it out like every mammal. Like it does to us. Chlorine wouldn't harm a ferret but its advised not to dump them in chlorine water all the time. Because, you know, dry skin that gets fairly itchy.
that made my day. Its good exercise for them, it cools them down, even ferrets that like water look like they dont.... If they were petrified theyd bite him in seconds. Ferrets enjoy rough play. Im against animal abuse too. Nothing wrong with this.
we dont have a pool for my too but we have a rottweiler so we let him out and let them swim in his HUGE waterbowl they love it!!! im thinking of buying the little shallow kitty pools just so they can play and make a ramp or something so they can get in and out on there own
I have two ferrets and they willingly swim in any pool of water that is large enough for them to swim. I don't think you should throw your ferret in a pool or hot tub, but if they choose to go in then thats there business, but like all children they need supervision.
Ferrets Rule! I have 5 of them, two of which loooove the water. They even camp outside the shower door and scratch at it till I slide it over to let them in. They lap at the puddles; cutest thing ever. Ferrets are related directly to otters and handle water pretty well. Some more than others though- but I don't see the harm in putting them in a pool, as long as you're there. Great post!
@strikerk I never had a ferret, I did have numerous other pets. And dude, he definately didn't like swimming there, he was trying to get out. He can't stand anywhere and needs to swim continuesly, would you like that? Try jumping in the ocean and not being able to get out - You'd stress out. Like TheChoada said: You shouldn't own a pet untill you grow up a little.
@TristanRCRW Dude, you're humanizing the animal. Have you ever seen a weasel swim? They paddle, all the time. It's how they swim. The way you even go "Would you like that~" tells me you're NOT thinking like the ferret or thinking analytically at all. You're humanizing an animal~ a healthy animal being cared for by its owners. The ferrets probably swim often, and are alive, healthy and happy today. Yet you call him~ the owner of this beautiful creature, a fuckhead when you don't get it.
@pewster31 Once a month... poor baby. Ok let me rephrase... MOST ferrets HATE water. Theyre similiar to cats. Cats hate water but there are some that like it. Just like ferrets. Yours is sleepy b.c the warm water puts her at ease... this happens alot to kittens too. The one in this video is looking for an exit and when she gets to the stairs her poor little legs are too short to help her get out. Watch again... she only stays by the edge and is looking up the whole time... to get out.

ps do u use ure ferretsfor hunting if so how did u train them to kill cause my to babby ferrets havent but my elder one has killed loads of rats but i bought him a year old and he was already trained
yes, this is a little cruel. the ferrets might not mind it, but still, you don't know if they mind it or not. take them out, and stop tiring and stressing out your ferrets for your own entertainment.
chill they didnt even put them in their for that long if u noticed he took them out after a few minutes its not like they're gunna let them drown or anything
Zaruk5678 is right your such a fucking idiot... you souldnt have ferrets you fuck!! thats why one of em is chilling in the pool filter cuz he doesnt wanna swim!! all you people who like this video are idiots
No matter how many times you throw him in the pool he is never going to like it. It will only amuse you while he franticly circles the pool looking for a way out with nowhere he can touch bottom. I dont think you should own an animal till you grow up a little.
@TheChoada my ferret, strangely, loves it... we have a pool and she would jumpr right in almost every time and swim around till she was tired and climb out... its so cute!!
@TheChoada my ferret, strangely, loves it... we have a pool and she would jump right in almost every time and swim around till she was tired and climb out... its so cute!!
@TheChoada Honestly I can't see where your comment fits in this video. Ferrets (Weasels, Otters) are natural swimmers, they enjoy it. My ferret used to swim in the bathtub and loved it, it was his favorite time. Before you go ranting on about something you clearly know nothing about, I think you should grow up a little.
@m1dnightw0lf Ive had several ferrets, and you never put them in water where they cant touch. But Im glad your ferret had his favorite time in the tub. But I think this ferret looks like he is not having a great time in the pool.
@TheChoada Well, at the very least, he took them out shortly after putting them in, right? He probably should have looked into ferret care a bit more before he put them in the pool in the first place, but it could always be worse.
@m1dnightw0lf Your right that they are natural swimmers, but not all ferrets like water. I can give 3 examples. Stewie, Bella, and Katie (my ferrets) they freak out even in 2 inch deep water and want to get the hell out of there asap (Well, Stewie can't really freak out anymore :( )
@TheChoada Thats a little harsh and really none of your business. Last time I checked swimming wasn't torture. I don't think you should own a laptop till you grow up
@TheChoada He has more than one ferret! If you didn't read the title it says swimming FERRETS! Maybe you need to grow up and learn to read. Because It also says in the caption, my 3 ferrets are taking a dip.
@TheChoada i think animals hate you because you try to decide whats best for them, i hate people like you that think the animal likes whatever YOU think is good for them. and plus the ferret had a place to rest in the pool dip.
@yotiger1 Ferrets have been in our service for over 2500 years, and now a days, they do make incredible companions that can enrich their owners lives imeasurably. Just make sure to do the animal and the ferret community a favor before you bring one home. RESEARCH, these critters are like toddlers full of sugar, and need be protected from themselves. Good luck with yer new fuzzy friend!
how long have you had your ferrets i have one that i got from the pet store and i let it outside and it just stayed by me then she tried jumping on me so i picked her up and went inside but i live in la and we have lots of bugs and its like really hot so yeah
So from what I'm gathering is they need to cool off like this once in a while for temperature control but what about chlorine water? That's one of the reasons my ducks have their own pool. lol
of course its swimming, what ,you think its gonna sink to the bottom? when i get my ferrets id have a floating thing that they can go to if they dont want to swim. so now your ferrets are afraid of water and thats your own fault man
lol my Haruko loves the water...we take all twelve weezles with us up to our condo and I have a hell of a time trying to get her out of the pool and the jacuzzi
nah they swim really well, i lost a ferret to the heat in Australia in got over 45C and he knocked over his big water container and the heat killed him =( it was a very bad day.
My Ferrets dont like Chlorinated water because its toxic to small animals, is bad for their skin and fur since it tears off the natural oils, and they smell horrible because their natural musk gets stronger when you wash Ferrets in water. I should have used dust baths like intelligent people....hint hint.
cute but next time you put them in a body of water I would suggest putting them in one that DOESNT have chlorine in it. Chlorine is just a little bit bad for them but you dont have to listen to me.
lol this is to cute

ive just been waiting for the weather to get warm enought to try this with my ferret, Emmett! :)
AngelasAnimalAdvice 2 weeks ago
If water is warm, ferrets seldom dislike swimming - it's usually the temperature, not the water itself that ferrets can dislike.
groovygower 2 weeks ago
I agree you should put him in water where he can at least touch or get in/out on his own.
Just because ferrets CAN swim doesn't mean they always WANT to.
It doesn't look like he's happy in the video as hes going round the edges which would suggest hes looking for a way to get out..

@TheChoada Honestly I can't see where your comment fits in this video. Ferrets (Weasels, Otters) are natural swimmers, they enjoy it. My ferret used to swim in the bathtub and loved it, it was his favorite time. Before you go ranting on about something you clearly know nothing about, I think you should grow up a little.
m1dnightw0lf 5 months ago 31
@m1dnightw0lf Ive had several ferrets, and you never put them in water where they cant touch. But Im glad your ferret had his favorite time in the tub. But I think this ferret looks like he is not having a great time in the pool.
TheChoada 5 months ago 4
@TheChoada Well, at the very least, he took them out shortly after putting them in, right? He probably should have looked into ferret care a bit more before he put them in the pool in the first place, but it could always be worse.

@m1dnightw0lf does that matter u butt FYI not all ferrets can swim wow! u really do learn some new every day huh
itachilover919 1 month ago
@m1dnightw0lf Your right that they are natural swimmers, but not all ferrets like water. I can give 3 examples. Stewie, Bella, and Katie (my ferrets) they freak out even in 2 inch deep water and want to get the hell out of there asap (Well, Stewie can't really freak out anymore :( )

@TheChoada
I used to put mine in a water wing and he would just chill and casually paddle when he felt like it. seemed to like it to me...
jumpoffofmyroof 4 months ago
@jumpoffofmyroof It'd probably be cool if they could get in and out by themselves easily with a ramp or something

@TheChoada Thats a little harsh and really none of your business. Last time I checked swimming wasn't torture. I don't think you should own a laptop till you grow up
at55960 4 months ago

So from what I'm gathering is they need to cool off like this once in a while for temperature control but what about chlorine water? That's one of the reasons my ducks have their own pool. lol
rikkuschocobos 8 months ago
of course its swimming, what ,you think its gonna sink to the bottom? when i get my ferrets id have a floating thing that they can go to if they dont want to swim. so now your ferrets are afraid of water and thats your own fault man

Man a ferret is very funny, cool, and ust perfect pet the only thing that sucks about them.. is that they dont smell so good..
artigani99a 9 months ago
My Ferrets dont like Chlorinated water because its toxic to small animals, is bad for their skin and fur since it tears off the natural oils, and they smell horrible because their natural musk gets stronger when you wash Ferrets in water. I should have used dust baths like intelligent people....hint hint.

cute but next time you put them in a body of water I would suggest putting them in one that DOESNT have chlorine in it. Chlorine is just a little bit bad for them but you dont have to listen to me.
