Rock and Roar! I am so tired seeing vintage muscle be it Car, Bike or Snowmobile, being driven like they were made of glass. Not that they should be beaten mercilessly but C'mon! You got-a let'em strut their stuff once and a while... and when you do, make a great vid like this one. Double thumbs up and one great, big heavy right foot down! Your ride roars with it's un-neutered dignity intact! Whoop Whoop!
wolfstorms dad here, My 1st car was a blue,1972 New Yorker w/440 4bbl, 727, 8.75. What a beast! I swapped the open chamber heads for closed chambers from a 64 413, had a 2.5 duals made and eventually swapped the 2.76 rear gear for a 4.10 suregrip unit out of a 1970 Road Runner. I terrorized the streets of Flint Mi in the 1980's with it. Quite literally, tons of fun! Ran 1/4 in 16.03 at 89 in two gears with the open heads, duals and 2.76's. I never ran with the 4.10 gear but I'd guess mid 14's.
I own the same car 1966. Its a boat but hauls Buttox for a 5000lbs car. Easy work for a 440 or 383HP. Shits and gets! Who would want to get caught driving a Prius?
Scew the eniroment. ! Iran is going to nuke the world anyway, might as well enjoy life now.
You must watch The Green Hornet tv show from 1966-7. The Green Hornet's personal car was a new white 66 300 convertible. Check out Green Hornet clips on you tube.
This was my very first car, It was gold and the plate was spy004. It was fast too. This is the first time I've seen one in decades. Thanks for sharing! Oh we use to do burn outs in the orchard over by where I lived!!
Excellent! - I have this exact same car sitting in my garage right now! - All original, unmolested, 40K miles with all original corresponding paperwork!
I am the 2nd owner and have enjoyed my baby since 1991 - It is the same color 2 door, with a 383 4brl - So, so cool to see another like it in action!
my friends got an all original 67 like that, rusty red sorta color. his transmission is going out tho. its pretty nice. he doesnt drive that way tho. lol
alsome!!! the car looks like my 66 new yorker check out the video on u tube. type in 1966 chrysler 440 burnout. what do you have done to the engine. and what gear ratio. i hope my car will look as sweet as that soon!!!
WOW! This video is the BIGGEST trip (4me),my pops just took his 66 newport, and replaced the benchseat with buckets and a center console\shifter just like that1, Plus, he yanked a 440 out of a 65 newport, beefd it 2 tha max,n dropped it in his 71 duster.Last but not least, im only 23, i LOVE mopar, but what are the chances that REBEL YELL is my favorite song!! thank u, this video has left me with a fixd grin, i cant wait to show pop!
That car was from a time when American cars were made and styled for Americans! Cars of the 60's had that proud and fast look. Cars today are ashamed of themselves! Look at them! Their styling is dissonant, organic, deliberately designed NOT to provoke certain emotions that cars once evoked, i.e. un-American.
Man, this video really rocks... I'm now in process of looking for my first mopars and I even started thinking of goin' for C-body instead of B. The sight of two tonne block of steel flying sideways is just so cool ... :)
I've got a feeling, that Chargers are too small, while I'm watching it and that the best goin-sideways-burnin-rubber material would be some decent C.
Nothing really beats the feel of having a HUGE-ass land barge of a car and an equally huge engine to throw it around...Sadly I'm in a chevy at the moment, but I'll make sure to rectify that by summers end. Really sweet ride, dude. Tip: get a smaller steering wheel, those things are a BITCH to correct with :-)
Having the fortitude and ability to perform this caliber of driving on dry pavement with two tons of crafted steel is becoming a lost art. The fact that you almost lost it and came within an inch of striking an object, means you took the vehicle to the edge. Most who criticise, lack the driving prowess and level of risk taking necessary. Great execution and automobile. I will respectfully say though - to be wary of bystanders and traffic. I prefer more isolated locations for obvious reasons. VM
Achtung auf der Burger Landstrasse und im Unterburch wird oft jeblitzt. Coole Kiste!! Hatte selber einen Oldsmobile 98 mit der 455er Rocket. Viele Grüsse!
