In learning did you take the "learn all the modes and theory" approach....or did you just play as many songs as possible and fill in the gaps later approach?? In other words are you schooled or self taught? Either way this is a great sound i am jealous!!
Thanks a lot! It's really been a combination of both - I've studied theory and learned lots of tunes. To me, learning tunes was the more beneficial of the two.
Hi Paul, Your playin is really terrific and a real pleasure to listen to......... I have not seen any new posts? With your talent I would love to hear more from you.........Hope to hear more........KEEPON STRUMMIN...DALLAS
Waltzing Leaves, wow, great stuff! I'm not sure but it seems to me that the original chanson "Les feuilles mortes" was in 3/4. Could it be? Anyway: Great job, Paul!
Awesome stuff, pauldil! I'm getting kinda envious of you jazz guys! .. A fabulous rendition of a great tune... right hand duly noted.. think I might do some practise!
Thank you very much! I started taking lessons when I was about 9 and got more serious about it when I was around 16. I totally stopped playing for many years and started playing again in 1999.
Hi Paul ,something I forgot what I liked alot in the harmonisation part is first harmonising a D note over quite some changes afterwards a B note that's a nice idea man, real cool, this breaking the single string lines for a moment, greets Vic.
Hi Paul, great playing in 3/4 and how do you stretch your pinky that Far,do you practice Yoga with your pinky? Just kidding. Very Musical nice lines and great warm guitar sound, liked your other tunes on My Space, you're some player man, like it to the bone,Vic.
Thanks Victor! And thanks for your remarks about my other tunes. I really enjoy playing in 3. My pinky really didn't stretch that far...you'll notice I'm at the higher end of the neck when I do that 8^)
Ultra-cool, Paul. I like that 3/4 feel and I definitely hear some more Wes chops in your playing. Man, some of you cats on here sure kick my ass with your Guitar skills... you're one of them, that's for sure!
just great! bravo!
