  • You this game was pretty awesome on the snes. Then again I fucking LOVE beat em' ups lol

  • This Game on the SNES was alright i beat it , and yes it was hard but not impossible

Also if i remember correctly the game went on a bit at the start but after superman dies you get to play all these differnt supermen clamming to be the real superman these included superboy, some magic superman, the man of steal who is a robot looking superman i feel some of the game vaults comments about this game are short sighted.

  • the levels look very similar to TMNT Turtles in time....interesting

  • Superman 64 runs off the E.T. for Atari engine. That's how bad it is.

  • It wasn't that bad on super nintendo

  • I beat this video game in the sega genesis and it was hard like shit, but I did it

  • Poor superman

  • the snes is WAYYYY better

  • Zero effort review

  • Superman 64 is my favorite game of all ti--.... oh, I can't say it

  • Worst Superman game of all time......Superman 64.

  • its was a 16 or 24 bit game what did you expect you moron course its going to be punch and fght game stupid ass

  • ah this game wasn't that bad

  • it rocks

  • I remember playing the SNES version of this almost 14 years ago. I will admit that I used cheat codes with the Game Genie as that was the only way I felt like the game would be any fun. Action games suck when you have to worry about getting killed and possilby running out of stuff you need. I did have fun being able to get through all the levels with infinite lives and energy. This game is actually what filled me up on the story of Superman's death and the others who followed before his return.

  • I always wondered what it would be like if there was an action game that had both Superman and Batman in it. Superman would be invulnerable to all the ordinary weapons as Batman had to dodge them in order to survive. Then Superman would be harmed by kryptonite traps as Batman would be completely immune to them. There would be alien villains that would be capable of hurting both of them. Superman would fight them using his super powers as Batman would fight them having to use all of his gadgets.

  • I liked the SNES version

  • @tloforu421 me too! the snes version has great music and is a good game to play anytime!

  • It gets better after he stops playing, when you get to change characters and junk.

  • You fight again and again and again... wow... it sounds like every other beat em up which most of them ended up getting good reviews...

Actually I played this game, its not that bad. You can do cool stuff like throw enemies into the background wall, and then there's some shooting levels to break up the button mashing but those are shit easy and the bosses can be a bitch because some times the collisions don't work properly.

They should have added multiplayer given the style but oh well.

  • Soo, does there exist a good Superman game?

  • thats like saying is shaqfu good or is there a movie where shaqil o neal is acting good

  • nope

hes a curse man a curse

  • I think it is okay to say that all Superman games suck- if you do not have a way of to cheat. I played the one on the original NES and never could figure out what I was supposed to do. I watched the playthrough of it on this finding out it was multiple levels. The game ending only had Superman talking with the Statue of Liberty just like in the beginning. Then there was the one on N64 that everybody absolutely hates. I could not even get past the second level. Two guys even burned it up on this.

  • i didn't think this game was that bad...but then again i haven't played it in over 10 years either so who knows

  • I know but i used to play this because i like superman,i just can't say the same with the 64 version, anyway my favorite was the arcade version,to this day i still play it.

  • fuck this game was good, better than 64.

  • every game is better than superman 64........well maybe not et

  • et is the ultimate bad game.

  • That's what I hear, and I hope to never find out, I have the good furtune of having played very few bad games.

  • Try the arcade game on MAME,you will not be dissapointed.

  • or dr jerkyll and mr hyde

  • Action 52.

  • @1313131313113 Ultraman on the SNES was pretty bad too.

  • the nerd should do the negative video vaults & so that no one gets offended there should b a note in the beginning

  • The Snes and the Genesis versions were like night and day. I have both and the Snes version has actually imao good music Plus the fun is grabbing opponents and throwing them into the walls in the background

  • that game is super awefull

    it makes me puke.

  • beats superman 64

  • yeah if it follows what the hell he is,dying only by weakness, fighting mobs of people ivincibly and all

  • Superman will never make a good video game.

  • the only decent game he's been in is MK vs DCU, THAT'S YEARS WORTH OF POO AND ONLY A OZ. OF SILVER

  • @DarkLinkNA16 I didn't know he is in the game developing business.

  • @DarkLinkNA16 He already had some, the Superman Arcade, Superman Shadow of Apokolips for the PS2 and Superman Returns for the Gamboy Advanced.

  • @DarkLinkNA16 sad, but true- the whole thing about Superman is that he's invulnerable- interesting concept for a comic, or a TV show, but not a game.

  • @mcFreaki I wouldnt say its interesting at all. Superman and Wolverine might be the 2 most boring superheroes ever imo. And i understand why that comic were superman dies is so popular. cos hes not invincable anymore... for awhile atleast.

  • @DarkLinkNA16 what about um...um...um.....um...um...(couple days later)um..yeah your right

  • Did he even know Superman is not the only playble character in this game?

I mean at least show the ppl Superboy or the others characters which was something cool about the game.

mehh I still loved it, even if it was repetitive still was fun for its time the only good superman game I played.

  • Has there ever even been a decent Superman game?

  • Ehm... I guess not XD

  • Superman Returns was.... interesting....

Perhaps refining that concept with more interesting enemies and battles will make for a good game? perhaps? maybe flesh out flying in missions? :s I wish.

  • this game was apart of my past and i thought the concept of 5 supermans was awesome, the graphics are cool and i hate your reveiws on good games you guys think are bad, screwattack!

  • superman sucks he such a fucking pussy

  • How exactly?

  • hes to nice to everybody...

  • ok, and that makes him suck, Why?

  • dunno people being too nice just piss me of

  • Ok, so if you see someone giving money too the poor you just automatically hate them?

  • no ´but super man is too nice gees always happy he could never say anything mean you could migh as well put wings on him and call him jesus

  • Maybe, but he's done some things too that aren't so nice. He actually did kill a few characters at one point.

  • if they would make him do just small evil things once in a while i would like him

  • i am 26,000 viewer! and i hate this game. it sucks gigantic moose balls.

  • Love these old VGVs

  • nes systems rule ....... and konami

  • Yeah, why does he? He's "The man of steel".

  • he dies in the second level

  • How many more times are people gonna say "it's not as bad as Superman 64"? =/

  • once it stops being true...

  • It's not as bad as superman 64.

  • Don't have to tell me twice

Superman 64 = WORST GAME EVAR!!!!!!

  • you got that right kingyoshiedge this superman game is better than the n64 game

  • you rock screwattack & I hate this superman game

  • At lest it isn't as bad as Superman 64!

  • It looks like a an un-superier version of the great Batman Returns for the SNES.

  • that game sucks so much ASS

  • probably not as bad as super man 64, nothing is more crappy than that

  • agreed but still both games suck i don't even know a good superman game

  • I DO :D SUPREMAN: the game that was never made

    DUN DUN DUN!

  • I agree with you dude game is actually fun.

  • Dude, my drama teacher brung that same comic to my class!

  • brung?

  • lol, brung, bad gramer :D

  • Mr. Grammar Cop can't even spell. Doy!

  • yea but honestly most games from that generation sucked with a few exceptions they are just outdated

  • the game looks kinda good but the story line was ass i think

  • well i just have the comic.

  • WTF!!! This game kicked ass!!! I've played it, I thought it was great.

  • I thought it was a terrtble game because it was boring. man you must be hardcore to beat that game like I am in captain america and the avengers on the super nintendo

  • Of course I am a hardcore gammer. The book was awesome and this game was great too.

  • Lame :D

  • lame ! :D

  • This game is so repetitious, Screwattack's reviewers are right. Just keep moving and fighting the same things...the same ways...

  • Game is annoying and full of fail, I got tired of it after level 2

  • fapfapfap lawl

  • Actually the game have more diversity, the flight battles with superboy and the most incredible hard level when you're steel and have to avoid obstacles as fuck. The first and second bosses are pretty fuckin' easy but, I bet you could not beat the superman cyborg without losing at least 1 life nor more. I liked this game, it's not as different as any final fight game or if I recall correctly the SNES Batman returns itself.

  • maybe if he played the nintendo version, he'd think better of it.

  • you suck mang...I love that game...nothing but ass kicking.

true, its pretty repetitous, I'll agree there.

but you left out how you get to play as many different kinds of Supermen.

  • cool!!! this is the one that wasnt working on their site. i finally watch it

  • I actually quite like this game. Or, I liked it back when I played it last. Like, 9 or so years ago. Liked how you ended up as other versions of superman, like that cyborg dude and superboy.

  • The curse of Superman doesn't paralyze or kill actors, it just results in every game starring him to be completely terrible!

  • first of all ,have some respect for the actors, second, superman shadow of apokalips(ps2)and superman returns(ps2) are pretty good if u ask me

  • lameeeeeeeeeeee

  • I personally didn't think it was THAT bad, but I played a rom of it. You're right. His laser eye things do NOTHING! I sat there thinking, okay, what's the point of that?

  • Yeah the SNES version I enjoyed, at least this is better then Spider Man: Maximum Cargnage, I mean c'mon I played that game for 2 hours straight and NO ENDING WAS NEAR IT X_x. I actually liked the Dooms Day fights in this game, and had a pretty good story =p.

  • Acarde version is the same way is repreted over and over again.

  • Yeah, the review is a tad off. I played the SNES version (better)... at least its better than SUperman 64 or SUperman for NES!

  • Way to cover the "death" part and not the "return" part.

Not sure about the Genesis version, but I played the SNES version. Judge any game from the first level or two online will warrant it as being repetitive. Give the game it's right and then do another review. There is tons of diversity in those games like using the 5 different supermans that spawn after his death as well as some flying levels.

  • Well, I got sick of playing it. Its not like this review is going to break the sales for the sega or nintendo. lol

  • Haha no doubt. If you want a real repetitive beat-em up. Try "The Tick". Trust me, it'll make this game look like Sengoku 3.

  • Well, if you want to see another bad game, try the arcade version of Double Dragon 3.That game was considered the worst of the arcade trilogy.

  • Forgive the typo in my other post. But the arcade Double Dragon 3 had to be one of the worst beat-em-ups ever. That game would probably even make The Tick seem like Final Fight.

  • If I recall, one of the worst beat-em-ups (or more appropriately, one of the worst games) ever was Bebe's Kids. Guardiane showed me how that game sucked in his double-feature review.

  • Not the case of console differences, I can tell you. Both versions were programmed by Blizzard themselves and play just exactly the same. The only thing that makes them different is the musical score used in each version (which is not the same).
