  • This guy looks like he used to be a wrestler.

  • a well deserved blue belt...wow

  • The more I watch these vids and research Roy Dean the more I wish I lived in Bend, OR. Very clean, minimalist, very friendly and encouraging atmosphere and top-knotch, respectable instruction to go with it.

  • holy...he beats all the blue belts without breaking a sweat.

  • i think only Roy should be the only one able to wear black, makes him look more boss hahaha

  • amazing! congratulations from Poland

  • I've watched and done a fair amount of jiu jitsu, but I have never seen it look as cool as it does in Roy Dean's videos. Even the live rolling between white and blue belts often looks as graceful and technical as an Aikido demonstration in these clips.

  • this guy was good, and wow roy was working him, he usually flows lighter, but this side of roy i like to see congrats bro

  • no one beats the final boss in this game. :P

  • Congratulations...very inspiring!!!

  • Great Job James. Congratulations on your Blue Belt.

  • I love gi BJJ, but there are some moves in this specific format that would need readjusting for the non-gi version. Roy Dean's school is AMAZING!

  • i bet that was not his first grappling class,,, maybe its his first gi class.... not that he was way to extraordinary most the roy dean guys or smooth and technique guys makes for good grapplin

  • this guy simply wins

  • O cara "passou o carro", parabéns!!!!

  • Huge guy with average technique to be hontest, but for big guys like him its not very common, and because of that he seems to be so good.

  • @emanrehtona

Hes not that big, and he has very good technique. You can see that he doesn't force the technique he takes what is given to him. Which is why we saw so many different types of variations of gi chokes and locks used by him.

  • Very solid blue belt, he is very smart, very technical, I like how he can apply the techniques in sparring, which is great. Watching this video makes me want to train harder, inspiring, in my opinion. Congratulations!!

  • And WOW, did he earn that belt or what, solid test, solid grappling.

  • Props to the uke as well.

  • VERY talented, especially with the transitions

  • wow... he was a serious white-belt extraordinaire

  • More blue belts! Awesome job. Keep rolling.
