by the amount of reducer that painter added i would say that all of you jobs end up with solvent boil or drop gloss like shit in about 1 month.at least your painters fuck every job consistantly.try 5%
hi , i have a 99 accord and i want to paint the all car in black , wat i have to do so i can mix the paint and have like a nice black color shani black ,.. the car is all ready sandin and primer i just need more inf about the amount of paint and clearcoat. if u can tell me how much i need with the number it would be perfect i have a scale., thanz u great video.
i didn't know that a lot of mixing is in volved. but, i guess that's a good thang. how do you get tha cars a crispy shine fininsh. I always get little bubbly eyes.
jet black just looks deeper and more black in a singlestage urethane. blacks have as much shine with a clear coat but seem to lose some of the color richness but thats just my opinion. you really only need to clearcoat if you're spraying metallics. the only solid color I think looks better with clear are reds. white and black I would always use singlestage.
this did not help it didnt say how much to mix[paint, and hrdener etc i am not a student i am just a backyard spray painter so i wanna what is the right mi8xture for auto paint]
single state is popular because it's easier (i.e. less work) then doing a B/C &C/C, and can come out very glossy. With base coat/clear coat to get a real good shine you have to wet sand, and thats a pain for a do it yourselfer in the garage who just wants a quick, decent looking paint job. I've seen some really sharo looking single stage acrylic enamel paint jobs.
@GCB1982 I agreee for sure. sinlge stage is a hell ogf alot less work. Some say it is more durable. I plan on using single stage.
btw anyone wondering about paint mixes. With a urethane its usually half paint and half reducer. Which removes the ned for thinners. thats urethane though.

You have to read the tech manual for the paint as all paint is different but usually 2 part paint 1 hardner 10% thinners

What are those handles on top of the paint cans called that allow you pour the paint as well?
ivanb750 3 years ago
In solids paint single stage is best but with metallic you need to use base coat clear to protect the paint from the buffer.
I have done auto body work for 34 years. The old lacquers with metallic caused problems but the clear act a a window.

single stage sounds like a cheap paint job...B/C C/C is the ticket.
