He always was playing to the alt-rock kids on those things and the rap-rock crap on the MoM album, which I understand he's resurrected that band. WHY? I can't fathom why. It failed the first time because the fad was fading out, so what's he gonna get out of it this time?

@aznjt probably 0.9 as all the strats and tele's of fender and squier get from the factory ..

alot of the vintage teles come with 10's and most tele players switch too t10's for a fatter sound if it comes with 9's. My 52' reissue came with 10's. Sounds so thick compared to 9's. JP uses 9's but somehow makes it sound thick

With a change of pickups (usually humbuckers) they can play metal quite as tele's usually accept down tunings quite well.

hard rock and metal are possible if you have a good amp and a distortion pedal, mega distortion pedal, then you got a metal souning guitar. also if you use the neck pick up, it sounds very milky, you can play metal with that,
