Why didn't they play the end of the song? Where it gets suddenly slow and lyrical? The part that makes this song sooo good and special? Maybe Ozzy would have felt akward, not really knowing what to do on the stage ... Mmh. Kind of a letdown, but I love it anyway.
@Parralyzed "Symptom of the Universe" is a song by the heavy metal band Black Sabbath, originally from their album Sabotage.
The lyrics were written by Geezer Butler about a dream he had, with many citations about the creation of the universe, the creator and creature and some mythological elements.
It is considered to be one of the first thrash metal songs with the heavier part containing various thrash techniques.
Perfect Setlist for a reunion: 1. Children of the Grave 2. NIB 3. Symptom of the Universe 4. The Wizard 5. Sleeping Village 6. Sabbath Bloody Sabbath 7. Iron Man 8. Black Sabbath 9. War Pigs 10. @TrueRocker100 this setlist is in fact very good, but i wouldve love to seen sabbath cover am i evil? cause i know that when symptom came out, am i evil was sort of its competitor, but still, i woudve love seeing them play it
The recording of Never Say Die was a difficult task. Recording was fought with re-recording and re-recording over and over. Between the heavy substance abuse and tensions it was a miracle that the album was finished and a tour was pulled off It was the unraveling of a great band, but all in all, the entire tour was somber yet a success.
(Continuation) In fact the entire band was heavily "medicated" during this show. You can see this of course at the beginning when Tony is smiling and throughout the entire show. Watch the whole show. Check out Tony's expressions during "Black Sabbath" and his solo. Also check out Bill Ward during the drum solo. There are many other cues to the band being blasted during the show. This is all true not an opinion. This tour had many difficulties, but was pulled off with minimal problems.
Here's some info on this live version and the band during this performance. Of course it was filmed at the Hammersmith. Ozzy was at the side of the stage because it was the band (and Ozzy's) way of showing his soon departure. Ozzys voice was more raspy and heavy because right before they were to go on, Ozzy spent the entire time snorting coke and smoking a ton of hash. (Continued on next comment)

@jtabor13 if you check out the california jam 74 video on youtube you will see ozzy on the side stage also.In 78 somepeople took this as an end to ozzys career with sabbath i don,t know you decide
@sobuliak There's like a rare video of them in canada or something in 1971 and ozzy is at the side of the stage then, so it was like that most of their career.
@nw781 you are right after a little research i found the clip it was shot in toronto in 1970 and indeed ozzy is on the right side -good call.when i saw them back in 75 ozzy was in the center?whos knows maybe they were all just to stoned to care?
I can still remember when I bought this album. I laughed at the front cover. But the album is no laughing matter. Simply awesome rock! It's truly a shame they don't seem to support any new bands these days who are playing similar type music.
Bill Ward beats the drums in the same intensity that I beat my children.

@soullessSiIence Do you realized how heavy they sounded back in 1971 when master of reality album came out? :P

Has anyone got any footage of the support band - Van Halen - on this tour, playing Lewisham?
'Hey - I've heard that Lewisham is the rock 'n' roll capital of the World'

@NeilThompson30
Apparently Ozzy and Tony used to have fistfights during this phase of Sabbath, as witnessed by David Lee Roth.

This track on the album Iommi gets a Great sound, like a chain saw.
No guitar on the planet sounds like a John Birch SG.
Iommi does not get that tone anymore. I miss that 1965 Gibson SG tony had, it had a great tone.
Sabotage is a Great Album!

@jtabor13 - it looked great.
It never really crossed anyone's mind when you were there at thegig.
NeilThompson30 1 year ago
@jtabor13 if you check out the california jam 74 video on youtube you will see ozzy on the side stage also.In 78 somepeople took this as an end to ozzys career with sabbath i don,t know you decide
sobuliak 1 year ago
@sobuliak There's like a rare video of them in canada or something in 1971 and ozzy is at the side of the stage then, so it was like that most of their career.
nw781 1 year ago
@nw781 you are right after a little research i found the clip it was shot in toronto in 1970 and indeed ozzy is on the right side -good call.when i saw them back in 75 ozzy was in the center?whos knows maybe they were all just to stoned to care?
sobuliak 1 year ago
@sobuliak Yeah, or could be to do with wiring like both tony and geezer have to be close to the PA or something.

I can still remember when I bought this album. I laughed at the front cover. But the album is no laughing matter. Simply awesome rock! It's truly a shame they don't seem to support any new bands these days who are playing similar type music.
