I noticed that, too! Maybe it's just a coincidence, or maybe just maybe it's attached to the theme about how we're saturated in TV, and he can't even finish writing his song without getting old TV stuck in his head (It's a longshot theory though).
@jasonhenle "american idiot and 21st century breakdown are my two favorite albums ever". AHAHAHAHAHA! OH MY GOD! who is this comedian? Ryancampstudios...... you funny
@RyanCampStudios that's actually not the case because the song "warning" sounds like the kinks" "picture book" and green days song "waiting" sounds like "downtown" by petula clark... so your argument doesn't really hold.
that being said i think green day a great band, whether it's new or old music.
Anyone else search Family matters intro, step by step intro, perfect strangers intro, lol. It was one of them! This video is a great mash-up of the two songs.
that is just sad. and they just won a grammy for that song too. green day have ripped off a lot of songs. just look up on you tube and there are at least 6 songs ive seen of green day ripping off other songs.or atleast sound similar to other songs, but too many coincidences.
I just heard this on the radio today and immediately started started singing 'Everywhere you Look!' (which somebody should really make a full length version of!)
@th1sV1de0sucks Yeah but thats almost note for note. Thats like they were watching Full House and thought "Holy Shit, lets mix that in with some half-assed lyrics and we got ourselves a song!!!"
I've been telling my friends for weeks that the first 10 notes are the same. I figured somebody else would have noticed this and put it online by now.
i mean it sorta does sound like it but not really, anyways i love this song and i dont really care. i just watched this song cause some person said it was funny... ok then
But seriously, this happens a lot. I've done it before too while trying to make a song. You think "Oh hey! This sounds pretty cool! I'm gonna go with this!" then you find out later that your mind was subconsciously replaying a tune you had heard before. Another possibility is that the riff is not very complicating, so it would be easy to accidentally play the same tune... either way it's funny. But I like 21 Guns other wise it's a really good song
Dude you have no right saying anything what have you done with your life I mean it cant be that great if you just sit around saying how crappy something is
Yeah man haven't you heard? The 1st amendment has been revoked. You have no right saying anything anymore, just like anslee08 the genius just informed you.
lol you are an idiot. only billie lived in rodeo, mike was the one who lived in Berkely. u got the story all mixed up. now all 3 of them live wif their familys in oakland california
lol, ur a moron, they were born in rodeo but much of their musical upbringings were from the berkely area, thats wut theyre referring to, and as far as stealing from full house. . . im 100% sure billie joe didnt write 21 guns with the intention of ripping off full house
I'm sure he had no intention of ripping off Full House and Electric Light Orchestra. I just don't like Green Day. They Used to be good, but this new album sucks.
same key but completely different concept thats ridilious to even compare the two because green day pretty much hates tv.... I thought the solo was very queen driven and very different for this band
I don't think anyone actually assumes that Green Day sought out musical inspiration from Full House, the coincidence is just funny. Don't take it too seriously.
Full House wern't even the first people to use this melody.. Janet Jackson used it in one of her songs in the late 80's called "Together Again" then it was even used on the first Sonic game on the level "bridge". So Full House wouldn't have the right to sue anyway since they didnt first use it.
Growing up watching Full House, I found myself singing "everywhere you look..." at the Greenday solo. I'm so glad I am not crazy and other people hear it too.

@BoBtheparrot7 have you LISTENED to the lyrics? It's fairly powerful stuff. Even the title, 21 Guns. It's about a 21 gun salute.

I'm 99% confident that Green Day didn't decide that a cool song to pay homage to was the Full House theme, so it was just an observation.
jasonhenle 2 years ago
I'm so happy to find other people that heard that too-
I'm not crazy- Yes I thought- damn that's the Full House Song- "Every where you look, There's a heart, a hand to hold on to." Yeah baby.
I'm sure it wasn't intentional but I can't hear that song without thinking of that.
John Stamos was a masterful songwriter wasn't he?

the avril lavigne thing sounds nothing like the beginning of 21 guns. thats just a green day hater trying to spread that cause he hates the band.
