Prediction on Battle boxes: They will definitely continue to roll them out. Sounds like they aren't optimized for the armies, but are a nice entry into the army.
@Number1GamerAsh Here's a secret, you're hearing about it first.... we will be making a big announcement regarding the RTD some time before we leave for the Roadtrip. It'll go into details about season 2 and especially review what we have planned for June 2010. Thank you for all the support you've given the channel.
I don't know about anyone else, but I find it hard to make a force greater than 2000 and keep it legal. It's fine again when you hit 3k points, then it's apocalypse and legality goes out the window anyway, under apoc. rules you can field what you like.
Probably should not comment, because I don't play 40k, but I am purly looking at it from a model stand point. Swapping 2 vehicles for one drop pod and no carnifex??? Glad I bought the old nid battleforce...wish I had bought the old space wolves force...I thought the changes where better for playability...if not it sucks duouble...still love the models...Jim.
Hi all, me and my other half are getting into 40K and are splitting 2 AOBR boxes, it's a good start to 2 armies. Space Marines we now have HQ,20 Tac. marines, 10 Terminators, & 2 dreds!! AOBR dreds don't come with any weapons options but you get HQ, Troops, & Elites covered. For 'Da Boyz' we have Hq, 40 Boyz, 10 Nobs.& 6 Koptas. I like the ORK box, but not SM box. It depends what you want. The AOBR needs rules for each army inside, and pts lists, if not codexes which we still need.
Good god, guys... Of course the battleforces are going down in quantity- No more tanks for the IG, and they dropped the Carnifex for 4 gaunts and 4 hormagaunts.
The Tyranid Warriors were always in the box.
And they're currently are immune to instant death.
I think this is the worst RTD so far; it suffers from not having a fourth person who could correct some of the glaring errors in this one.
i have a question. SM have a codex that is considered to be for all chapters but i think its an ultramarines codex, but due to DA BA BT haveing their own codex why dont the other first founding chapters have one? it would be easier as then the second foundings etc could use their primarchs codex?
I am sorry, but these questions on the battleforce do not even take into account the secondary market. IE Ebay, Bartertown, Rogue Market... and sites like Warseer.
I have NEVER paid full GW price for a battleforce etc.
I always get my stuff at a 20% or better discount.
I just think questions on whether or not they area good deal are misleading when there are other resources available for people to accquire these models.
Assuming that the same sources that you get your models for the battleforce and the regular boxes are both 20% off, while the price may change, the value it represents does not. I wanted the show to discuss why GW felt the need to change the Battleforce box in a way that was clearly designed to keep their more powerful units at a price premium. Thanks for commenting.
i was looking at the Tyranids battleforce at gw website and it says "This box set contains 43 multi-part plastic models, including: three Tyranid Warriors, eight Genestealers, 16 Hormagaunts and 16 Termagants. This set also included are three Ripper Swarms, forty 25mm round bases and six 40mm round bases."
I appreciate your comment here, but part of the RTD is to have fun predicting what will happen. The only thing that was mentioned about the Tyranid box was that Warriors might also be troop choices. And the only reason the Tyranids were brought up at all is that they have a battle force with a Carnifex on the cover of the box, and no carnifex inside. Very misleading. We tried very hard to talk about the Codex as it is now, but as a live show, we responded to comments left in the room.
basically i think the boxes are great just to add more stuff as well. odly enough for my orks i havent bought the battle force yet and have done most of my army creation from the boys boxes and the AOBR sets :)
thats why i kinda like the army box for the Empire, sure its a lil expensive....however i did the math and you basically get a free greatsword unit. but again thats fantasy. But really, i found that if you are starting the game of 40K the battle force is a great way to quickly get started. You dont have to pay for fuel to keep going to a store to get everything you need, you can just save up and buy a box and maybe one other unit and you have enough to play small games.
oh dear...lol my bad doremicom...sorry, i thought it only had one base it in the way i read it online...it said 3 and i thought oh 3 on a base.. = 1 base.
gw say they need the money to move from metals to plastics when the new nids have 3 new metal kits well why not make a multi purpouse to make all three the contain similar parts !!! and smurfs right they already do armys in a box dont they the megaforces ???? and dormicon could be right to they decrese but they keep the smae price some time i think gw are to caught u pin " RELESES" to care about the custoum
i no what you mean, but in the SM BFboxset you get 5 assault marines and 5 scouts, 10man tactical squad and a rhino. i think money wise thats good but with the size my army is i cant use everything in one game unless im playing appocolypse
i can see the battleforce becomeing single pose models like the models in AOBR box. therel be clip 2gethas. i like to roll dice singularly as i seem to role lees 1s lol
in england the SM BF boxset is 50GBP now 10TSM are 18GBP assult marines are 15GBP scouts are 12GBP and rhino is 20GBP now you are makeing a saving but on on the assault marines which i dont use much.
I posted this last night as private.... I was about to put a annotation this morning that I was wrong. A buddy of mine got the Tyranid battlebox and made the comment that there was only one ripper swarm base..... my bad believing him.
I can see why. After your comment, I checked and only have 2 swarm bases. Looks like I was shorted a base. There are like 12 or rippers on the sprues. No problems.
Prediction on Battle boxes: They will definitely continue to roll them out. Sounds like they aren't optimized for the armies, but are a nice entry into the army.

@doremicom One thing I do agree with... the New Nids Battleforce is a rip with the Fex taken out of it.
I think the Space Wolves is a good deal. The Drop pod adds some good value to it IMO.

sorry guys, but you shouldn't comment on a codex that's not out yet. It strains your credibility.

battleforces are never cheaper than singely buying the models... caus you always end up not useing/playing 25% of the stuff in the box
its only worth it if you´ll sell some units off on ebay ^^

i would prefer a box with 30 sm and 3 rhinos
or with 15-20 assault guys
maybe with some spezioal stuff (upgrad kit) you can only get in the box
something of that sort (more like the ravenwing box)
RetributionAngel 2 years ago
There are still cool boxes that save you a ton but they cost a bit more. Things like the Necron Warrior Phalanx. Saves like 25% i think.

It can be taken in broods of 1-3 and is basically a hive guard with a flamer.....not that great considering all the other awesome stuff coming out
