absolutely. kinsey had not set out to explore the sexual morality of the day, even less to guess at what it should be like. instead he did his best to represent sexual behavior (the clue is in the title). the study itself has sampling problems, certainly: the researchers had to use convicts and prostitutes since not too many people were willing to be open about sex. but the sample itself being huge, this made little difference. it was a fair bit of research and the first of its kind.

You see, though, a forensic psychologist studying serial killers wouldn't need to take surveys of the general population. Their case-studies are generally pre-established serial killers. When a psychologist or a sociologists studies *general* human behavior, there is some form of payment. Without payment, the Scientist doing the research wouldn't get much of a response from potential participants.
It's a very similar research scenario. There is no reason why pedophilia can't also be studied by the case-studies of pre-established pedophiles and their documented victims. And then you might have an impartial study.

absolutely. kinsey had not set out to explore the sexual morality of the day, even less to guess at what it should be like. instead he did his best to represent sexual behavior (the clue is in the title). the study itself has sampling problems, certainly: the researchers had to use convicts and prostitutes since not too many people were willing to be open about sex. but the sample itself being huge, this made little difference. it was a fair bit of research and the first of its kind.

This is not only inaccurate, but offensive. Kinsey was not a pervert, he pioneered a field which studies perhaps one of the most important aspect of being a human, sex. Whether it is questions of gender, sexuality, or reproduction. These people have no idea what they are talking about and how important his work is, without it academia would not be the same. Whatever, believe what you want.

i think this documentry is kinda biased, but sexual stimulation of children in the name of research won't help prove anything. just because men and women can reach orgasim at young ages doesnt meant adults should be encouraging it and that its good for the childs psyche.

Kinsey was a sexual deviant, so, in order to feel better about himself, he spent his life promoting his ridiculous notion that sexual deviation was actually the norm. A small amount of enlightenment may have come from his work, but, for the most part, he was just a very troubled man who misled a lot of gullible people and probably got alot of people hurt--like all of the children who were victimized by the pedophiles who were emboldened by Kinsey's hedonistic theories.

Excuse me, I don't know the guy personally to state something about this, but the whole thing is biased, so that doesn't help us anyway. If there is evidence then it should be presented in a more serious way than in an extremely "correct and moral" documentary.

Kinsey was a pedophile and a sexual deviant. He used his research to allow the rape of children and as an excuse to see men have sex with each other. There was very little value in his research except to perpetuate the abuse of children and other deviant behaviors.
The bottom line is Kinsey was a child molester and promoted sexual deviants.

You see, though, a forensic psychologist studying serial killers wouldn't need to take surveys of the general population. Their case-studies are generally pre-established serial killers. When a psychologist or a sociologists studies *general* human behavior, there is some form of payment. Without payment, the Scientist doing the research wouldn't get much of a response from potential participants.

It's a very similar research scenario. There is no reason why pedophilia can't also be studied by the case-studies of pre-established pedophiles and their documented victims. And then you might have an impartial study.
What Kinsey did was very different.
He paid child abusers to hand him their subjective, biased, non-controlled, accounts of continuing abuses, as sole source of info. And then he took conclusions from those biased accounts. That's pseudo-science. And a reward to child-rape.

Dude this whole thing is pretty biased. Kinsey got the data on the little boys from child molesters. The tables aren't super-specific, which would otherwise suggest involvement.
His only real mistake was letting the molesters get away.

...Is that there is tons of variability in the sexual practices within the US then as well as today and that it's a matter of private, personal preference. Not all of it is legal, but that which IS can't be deemed, "WRONG" by whack-jobs.

None of his interview subjects mention anything about being abused as children.
That's because Kinsey THREW IT OUT!
He obviously squashed any info on child abuse.
I think he was afraid that if he admitted that child molestation was wrong, then the other topics he wrote about would come under fire.
A lot of Kinsey's work was also plagiarized. Much of it sounds like the stuff German Psychologists wrote about in the days before Hitler.

Absolutely, that was very sketchy. If he had showed that these child molesters were abused, it would be a connection between the otherwise destroyed childhood of the abusers and the sudden interest in putting children in un-child-like positions and situations. Through that it would basically be that child molestation is the child-abuser´s perverted past incarnate, and Kinsey himself was too chicken to ever make any such accusations.
