@FreekicksandTricks - not always. While I do prefer Intel, AMD isn't that bad. They are used a lot in gaming builds, and their Athlon 64 CPU was popular when it was introduced. I would build a gaming PC around an AMD cpu over intel, but I'd use intel for pretty much everything else.

for the hp haters hp dosnt suck you suck i got a compaq for the dombasses out there compaq is made by hp and i fuk this computer with games and its not made for gaming so i always push it to the limit and it never got the blue screen or crashed its just a lil single core being pushed everyday its day will come when my mom will buy it cause her laptop was the one of the best laptops 6 years ago and now its hella slow to my compaq and i need a new laptop faster and good like my compaq.

toshiba makes one of the best laptops, i got a satellite a505. hp actually has one of the highest failure rates of any brand.

Sony Vaio and Toshiba do the trick for me. If you want the best of the best ...get the Vaio. If you want something better than a HP, get the Toshiba Satellite L505D, or something along those lines. Acer makes decent laptops, too, but Toshiba is my personal favorite for the price.

The thing about these are ...you have to not treat them like shit. You have to be good to the hard drive :).

@FumanchuBros Yeah it turned out to just be a faulty hard drive. they sent me a new one for free. although best buy would have been more than happy to take my money for "fixing it." It is a very good computer with the new hd. but macs are still better.

@TheTMP2 - If you knew a thing about companies like HP, Apple, Dell, etc, you'd know that they only design the computer. They don't make the hardware. That is made by other companies. If you want to blame HP for faulty hard drives, you should blame Seagate, Toshiba, or whatever company they use for hard drives. The worst hard drive manufactures are Seagate and Toshiba. They have high failure rates, compared to Western Digital.

Yes the computer that just had a hard drive failure and my mom may have lost alot of her data. i think I will stick with my mac, which has had no problem whatsoever. And a mac can do games, if you dual boot it with windows.

and hp includes more money for ur value, for example,. u get like 500gb HDD, a decent graphics card, shit load of RAM like 4gb-8gb

but im mainly concerned about the quality

apples macbook is a very nice design and i "know" their parts they put in it are good

Nice laptop from HP. I recently purchased a Gateway laptop from Bestbuy which will be my first and last. Im not to hyped up on the quality of my laptop. It has a 17in display and I should have opted for a 15.4 inch through HP. Gateway support is subpar.

It doesn't have core i7, and blue ray player. But it has a built in webcam and a microphone. Also the dvd quality is fantastic. I would recommend this hp pavilion dv6 to anyone. It is a awesome computer, and it is something you can relay on.

no i like it. it is a finger print magnet. I also do not like the touchpad but most PCs are that way...it is too sticky (not allowing enough free movement) and the buttons are too small otherwise it is a nice computer.
