glad that i have just found this,very intresting.music sounds good but they look like they have been cleaned up and have been made up for tv. compare this to quintessence at glastonbury fayre film.I THINK THEY COULD BE GOING ON THE X FACTOR!!!!!!ha ha ha
Excellent band, they are around now in one form or another, but without Phil (Shiva) it can't be Quintessence in my mind. Does anyone remember Kala from 1973? does anyone have it? I have my old vinyl and a bit scretched copy. Excellent album why cant it be rereleased?
Saw them at The Strand Theatre, London, in 1970 (I think). Unforgettable experience. The entire crowd was chanting along. We were all hippies and made a fine contrast to the somewhat staid atmosphere of the venue.
Or was it the Lyceum? My memories are somewhat hazy. Missed them at a festival in Aachen, Germany, which I gatecrashed, but got in too late (maybe a day too late, it was a 3 day festival, and everyone was stoned).
Wow! Watched this as it went out in 71. Later studied the recorded track closely. This is the exact recorded guitar solo. Some of the rest is added on - not just the vocals. Amazing nostalgia.
On the Island Records version the words are rearranged differently with extra good lines like:
"Youve got to dive deep, if you want to find all the good things you ever thought or ever dreamed of everything youd ever be or not be."
and at the end they sing:
"I said True love, true love have I found. And one day a Holy Man he came to me and he said Son, youve got to dive deep, deep into your mind if you want to find the thing youre looking for."
im still blasting this LOL! DIVE DIVE DIVE DIVE!!!

@coffinthief
it was Tunbridge Wells where I saw them!!!
Chanting, singing and dancing; fantastic (and I dont think drugs were involved).
Still have couple of albums on vinyl; great band!

Great ! - love this song. Was just listening to the live 1971 RFH version .
This sounds like a different mix, not just different vocals.....curious ...

What a shame Shiva isn't hitting the high notes as per the album version.
