Is this a modified 1004x ? I've tried taking jupiter with mine unmodified cam, 4.5" Newt, 1.6x barlow and the planet is way too bright - although I havent done any processing on it.
Hi - Yes, its a 1004xJG. All you need for planetary is the disable shutter mod and manual gain/max gain control mods. The planet is still very bright, but you can adjust this by projecting the image to increase the image scale and thus get a properly exposed image - either increase the barlow to ccd distance or use an eyepiece to project, as was done here.
