I totaly love this song. I am now 62yo and play this song in the band.. I all so sing it...These guys were the great, they made a sound a song that made you grove made you move, dance sing along.... Rock and Roll Mysterians..peace be safe..larry
R.I.P. Eddie Serrato, former drummer of ? and the Mysterians. Finally free from the ravages of muscular dystrophy. May you play on for all eternity in heaven, sir. Thanks for the music.
Love this song, especially the organ. One of my favorite oldies songs. Didn't find out the name of it until recently, when I heard it on the radio at work and asked someone. So glad I finally know who does this.
I use to party with Q back in the day in Clio Michigan...I have never seen him take off his shades all the time I knew him! Lavern was his manger Its funny Cecause I use go to there stuido a house in Clio!
about 20 yrs ago I saw a cartoon video of this song..and in place of the human band it was cartoons chickens..like plucked and supermarket fresh.and the chicken singing had no head and the neck was moving like a mouth..the drummer had chicken drumsticks and there were 3 girls chicken..all plucked and market fresh.dancing in time to the music..it was genius and I was wondering if anyone had ever seen it
@TheVineyarder I saw the San Diego Chicken sing 96 Beers at a San Diego Padres game. Ray Kroc went running onto the field and pulled the cord on the mic. He didn't think it was family friendly like his toxic burgers loaded with saturated fat.

Sounds like a song Smashmouth could have done (hmm, maybe "walking on the sun"?) . Also sounds like "Gloria" good song though.

The organ is so great in this song.....groovy, I was raised on the oldies. Some really great music came from the sixties and seventies.

This song was originally 69 tears. True story. It was changed due to the sexual connotation with the number 69.
concretespecial 1 year ago
@concretespecial I've heard that they changed it into 96 because it is less mouthful.
