  • To avoid sleep and have more pure fun, and economic turning down Z, we just need to raise more funny birds. :) No evil dogs around. :) Because birds are cleaner and funner than dogs which can make human relationship gone wrong and badly. This is not elegant pet at all. Why should we treat each other always on guard? Love birds will also bring good luck to us. :)

  • do you eat chicken? i know you do. same thing. deal with it. i was defending myself. and yes, if i get hungry enough i will eat a parrot.

  • Oh you were defending yourself from a little bird by kicking it, instead of leaving it alone in its cage? Smart thinking, kiddo. You must be quite the intellectual, calling a dead, processed and packaged piece of poultry and parrot the same thing.

  • Thank you for this video.

It seems they understand each other very well.

  • Wow it looks like they have so much fun together!

  • bit of an inter-species affair goen on here.....

  • Well the bird and you arent gonna have much fun if you cant tame the bird because it flys away. Clipping its wings is good the one time so you can tame it.

  • if it prevents them from flying out the window or into harmful situations why wouldn't you?

  • my birds are clipped. there is nothing wrong w/ clipping their wings. they are less likely to get to high places where they can get into trouble and i can't get them down. have you tried chasing after a bird that isn't clipped? not fun.

  • I clip my birds wings! I have ever since my beautiful splendid parakeet flew right out my window in the middle of January. I suppose it's much mor ehumane to risk them flying intot he snow to die, or onto the stove to get hurt, or any other place. My birds are clipped long, so that they can fly short distances through out our house, and they are provided with perches and gyms throughout the house. We are not cruel, we are responsible bird owners, and I think you shoudnt judge.

  • this is way too cute

  • Woa that budgie is gorgeous. He must be an Enlish Budgie?

  • omg i love how the budie is following the ringneck its soooooo adorable and i love it wen they kissed soooo cute :]

  • Seeds are not meant to be the base diet for any parrot. I highly recommend a pellet formula, mine like zupreem and similar brands, I mix their food (about 4 parts to 1) of pellets to seed. My flock also gets a little of whatever I am eating at the time. My eclectus LOVES noodles of any sort while my ringnecks like crunchy fruit and veggies, apples are a favorite.

  • How come your birds are in such brilliant condition? What do you feed them on over and above the normal seed? I have a latino budgie (all yellow) which I have only had a couple of weeks and want to do the best for her.

  • adorable :D

  • how come the small parrot is not flying because i used to have a lot of them they wouldnt even let u come near them they were so noisy and they never walked they used to fly its amazing that this parrot is not flying away ...

  • It's not strange that the bird isn't flying away! If they fly away from you then they are not used to you and maybe don't really like you. But if you are good with your birds and take care of them well, then they will take to you and let you hold them all the time. You probably just weren't the best bird owner with them.

  • you bought parent raised birds which are cheaper than hand raised birds, but parent raised birds are essentially wild, untamable, i learned the hard way too

  • The quickest way to fix this is to CLIP them! A bird is easy to train and domoesticate if it cant fly away from you. I adopted an abused ringneck with horrible feather quality that was essentially wild. The first thing you have to do is clip their flight feathers. After that, training is simple! My grey ringneck has been flighted ever since I trained him some typical parrot commands(step up, drop it, etc. He likes to sit with me at the computer and come steal food if I am eating in the kitchen.

  • That is definitely just sick. It's like breaking the bones of a human to slave him easier....

  • Breaking bones?! No, it's clipping flight feathers. It doesn't matter how 'tame' or friendly your bird is, if it gets outside it will NOT come back. Birds are not slaves, they're companion animals. Feathers will grow back in two seasons, and after they are trained, it is a wonderful sight to see them get to fly around the house. Currently only one of my birds is clipped, and it's for his safety. The bird is mentally scarred from his previous owner who abused him horribly.

  • Birds are not toys. By clipping them you just use them instead of respecting their nature. It has nothing to do with doing it for their own safety, it's just for the owner who wants to have easy access to the bird ignoring the bird's needs totally.

  • Do you have any birds?

Maybe you are the kind of person that would rather not adopt a bird in need? Because pet ownership is cruel? Instead you suggest releasing a bird into the wild to die or letting others adopt to care for them.

Instead of caring for the bird and showing it love, you judge others and take no action that actually makes a difference.

    Move along, extremist.

  • You're on the wrong trip. Got six birds. Two were kept in bad conditions and we adopted them. One of these two is ill and can't fly so we arranged everything to have a suitable place for the little one. Our third bird was brought to us after being found in the wild, the fourth was a partner for the third and the last two were bought from us from a shop where they had no place to fly.

So, what about judging others? ;-)

  • It's common practice. Seriously, quit judging others for what they want to do with THEIR pets. icedthai is causing his/her bird(s) no harm.

You're pretty much saying wing clipping is wrong in and of itself. Well, would you say that me having to clip the wings of birds in the pet store I work at is wrong? You know, to avoid the bird escaping and flying up into the ceiling, possibly getting injured or severely stressed out, or flying out into the wild and probably dying? Great idea. :D

  • There may be areas where clipping is common practice, but that is not an argument. Burning witches has also been common practice. Should we start with it again? ;-)

And yes, I also think that especially when you work in a shop you should not clip the wings of the birds. They are having enough stress there. You should show the possible customers how to treat the birds good and not how to keep them as toys. Just because someone owns a bird does not mean he can do what he wants to!

  • If you are going to keep pets, you must make allowances, not everyone has an indoor aviary...

NOT clipping wings is VERY uncommon, if your bird has a chance to fly, out the window it will do so, and you will never see it again, depending on the climate, it will most likley die, unless its warm and their are other non-native flocks it "can" join...they often will kill new birds...

its like letting a cat or dog roam free in the city....their fate is not a happy one.

  • AMEN to that, sectionmaker!!I have had birds all my life-i now have a ringneck and an Eng

    budgie,JUST like these two-tame as they are,if

they werent clipped and escaped, they'd have NO

clue how to return safely-instinct tells them to fly UP, not down, to safety. CLIP your bird if you truly care about him/her!!!And its

    totally painless if done right!

  • Omg, only bird torturers here around. Ok, I see, you only care for toys, not for birds. It is senseless to discuss with someone who does not care for his birds. Keeping a Ringneck and a budgie together is also just wrong for the birds. It is a pity that not every country is as far as switzerland where it is legally not allowed to keep birds like this. I wish more countries would care more for animal rights. If your only argument is that the bird might escape... how lame as excuse.

  • don't insult people who you don't even know. Torture? are you that ignorant? Birds form flocks with whoever is closest, including humans. you obviously have no clue about how feather clipping is done, go do your homework. IF you KEEP an animal THEN you take of it..its simple. Whether pets should be kept is a red herring. Switzerland that figures, heads in the sand, holier than thou...take a close look at just WHO is keeping money in YOUR banks??

    Criminal industrialists equals habitat loss

  • "Birds form flocks with whoever is closest, including humans." <- That is the problem. They only do so if they are forced to. They normally only "from flocks" with other birds of their race. They are highly social animals and they need other birds. If you keep other birds away then they look for someone else, because they need to. If you want to make your bird happy, get him one of the opposite sex of the same race.

  • @MissZombie dude if it goes outside anyways it can survive find and place to live and eat with its wings clipped it will die so just let the bird free

  • @Davin286 Actually, birds can still fly when their wings are clipped, they just have to try harder. When pushed into a life or death situation, they will try harder so they can escape.

  • @SYSCHICN really i fought they can only fly as high as a chicken or glide good to know anyways thanks for the commment

  • I think clipping a birds wings is wrong, no matter what, it simply CAN NOT fly away from danger, even if it is you! I "only" have three budgies and an IRN but ne of their wings have been clipped, they can fly just fine and i dont even want their wings tt be clipped because nothing, absolutely nothing is more beautiful than a bird flying, at least that's my opinion :)

  • i clip my alexandrines wing but only 2cm so that when he tries to fly he goes down at an angle very slowly so at least he cant fly away.

  • omg dude....what BS its used to help tame birds

  • thats just cute

  • They are to cute! =)

  • Budgies are hard to tame

  • Yeah, you're right, especially when you get them wild and over a year old. Worse is if the bird has an hyper-active gland, then, it will never calm down. Best to get them around 3-6 weeks old and play with them a lot, then they'll be tame and easy to handle from then on.

  • im getting a handfed in a few weeks!!

  • If you can get them already handfed, that's even better!!

  • please anyone who reads this comment go to my site and look at my bird video
