dude my i have this computer its complete and utter shit the biggest upgrade ram chip you can get is 2gb and the computer only have 2 slots. thats 4gb of memory thats very VERY slow a average desktop has about 10 or so gbs of memory. The key board also sucks and the battery life is at most an hr

sony vegas 10 hd - works fine - ( make sure you make a restore point after you activate it - had to restore computer many times because some how it losses ( fx ) files. ( hd - 1080 - 24p video takes much time to render ) ( if your video is 1 min it may take 5 min to render ) - render in ( mp2 ) dvd qualiy.is faster 1 min may take 3 min to render. render - is to get final video to upload to youtube.

Great Laptop but there is a major issue with the power jack. It is somewhat faulty, one of the pins inside of it bends the wrong way once the power cord is plugged in. It will then cause the laptop to very seldomly charge it makes for a very annoying game of "move the power cord in circles until the light turns on.

@tboneinkc its the pins inside your power jack. You may need to replace it. It is quite a simple process and its a cheap component. Or you could try finding the bent pin and bending it back.

on the camera thing depends on the variation of the model , mine have a camera (the model its a 5534-1795), anyone knows if this laptop will work with a batery of the timeline series, I mean they are identical, but the batery of the 5534 (AS09d31)its a 10.8V 4400mAh, and the LC.BTP00.052 its a 11.1V 5200mAh, it will Work???

BTW: Hulu can lag on this laptop, you have one of two options to work around this. Right click the flash video and select "low quality" You probly wont care about the difference, and it will be smoother. Alternatively you can get HULU desktop, which runs videos alot faster. This computer will play WoW just fine as well :)

I bought this laptop as well: and for the price, it does most of what i want. however it lacks alot of cpu power and i cant work with my music (composing in FL studio) However, if you manage to get an upgraded cpu (retail or ebay) this has the potential to be a fairly fast and mainstreamed gaming quality laptop. Enough to run anything you want, but not at max specs. (which is fine for my taste)

there is ( battery setting ) balanced , high performance, ( there is a video card ( ati ) video card on all the time it is in the battey managemant section click on the little battey icon in the left corner and it will give you the options to run on battey mode ) then start the computer on the battery to test out the battery options you set. ( change one at a time ) this will let you know the setting that works best..

defragmented the hard drive last night.

( wow it booted in 1min 30 seconds !!)

after you load all you programs, and it is running fine ( under accessories / defragment - run the defragment on the hard drive it takes ( 1- 2 hour )

but you can use the computer while it is defragmenting the hard drive.

( nice results ! ) I have 50 gigs of stuff on the hard drive, programs and some pictures . have a great day . will post another video soon.

These are $448 on the walmart site now.

I bought one for $348. Happy so far, except the sound is very low. Even for a laptop the sound is terrible. I am also having a problem with the sound skipping when the hard drive light is active. If I update the sound driver the problem goes away but comes back in a day or so.

needed to install quick time 7 ( to get sony vegas to work with my ( mov) files )

now it is working fine.

( video rendering takes time form mov - mp2 )

from ( mp2 to mp2 ) is faster.

( sony vegas will read mp4 video but the audio will not import )

it is as fast as my desktop ( athlon 3500 single core ) and the touch pad is excellent. you tap 2 times and you can open a file or applicattion. I rendered video for 2 hr the fan came on at about 10 m in and running at 100 percent most of the time , it did get hot on the bottom. I used a chill mat and it plugs into the usb port - targus - 2 fan. ( my desk top has 3 fans ) never gets hot. I like amd it keeps funning and does not get bogged down.
