This is not quite Progressive Rock, though the chorus reminds me somewhat of Asia. It's more in the vein of Art Rock (Pink Floyd & Moody Blues are both good examples), and the vocalist makes me think of Bono. It's better than most new music, and the bassist is probably the best aspect -- can't stand the drum sounds.

This muse stuff is pretty hip. I like the harder bands like tool and what not, but this band has tons of talent and isn't afraid to tap into different styles of music. Sounds like PROG ROCK to me! GO MUSE!

forgive me, but i don't get it. what does it mean that this song (and the album) was based on Orwell's book? what are the similarities? i don't read this book so i'm just a little confused.

Song 2 is about "love is our resistance" this is about 1984. A crazy book and a good song. If you know the book, the girl the main character Winston is in love with, throws down the abstinence cloak, and and entire civilization of defeatism is destroyed.... Love in this book is the resistance to big brother...What happens in the end? 1984 is one of the most amazing books of all time. The book is genius, the song is genius. if you know the reference, it all makes sense. Read it!!!
