In 2011 version.. I noticed that... its sound effects and suspense effect doesnt fit... compare to this original... I hope after greed island,,, They'll make better opening and yeah... nothing else... I hope they wont make a mess... @redfoxarts the only problem with the 2011 version is that its toned down, by that i mean the violence, but it makes up for it with amazing pacing. something that the first anime suffered with on many occasions, by extending scenes/ pointless filler to stay behind the manga. however both anime are great in their own right. and i think that the 2011 version can be ramped up, if they get to change their time slot to a later time, which usually = more blood.

Yes my favourite anime OP of all time! I love the dark setting of York Shin city, and the macabre nature of the characters in this adaptation. Unfortunately it seems the new series has been kiddied up and won't have the same impact as this one. They just don't make anime like they used to :(

I haven't been updated on the anime for quite some time but the manga's keeping a dark setting in my opinion (Chimera Ants arc) though not the same cool-dark kind of way that York Shin/Yorknew had, more so an emotional way (not going to spoil) though also disappointedly more unrealistic.. :/ That being said, this is my favourite anime opening ever. Hxh 2011 isn't more "kiddy" it's just more mainstream because it's alot more popular now and done by an actual company that knows what it's doing. MADHOUSE, the company thats doing the new HxH, did Death Note, so just wait to HxH 2011 reaches it's second opening, i'm sure it will be epic :D (hell, even the original HxH had a really like hearted opening at first)

@thehasan1212 That was true but it will change unfortunately, Hunter x Hunter comes back in anime form (yeah) the new season will launch in October this Year BUT all the Voice Actors got replaced even Gon, Killua and Hisoka at first i thought it was just gon which made sense since she is doing Enoud Mamoru and Naruto right now maybe others too im not sure.. anyway they recastet the whole thing i really hope the new voices wont be too different from what we are used to...

Just out of curiosity, are there ANY dub episodes of the OVA (63 and onward)? If not, I'm going to be really pissed. I DO NOT enjoy watching things that aren't in my native language, American English. Instead of sitting back and enjoying the show, I would have to read the subtitles (if any) and try to match them in my head with what I think the characters would sound like in English (based on what I've heard before).

@qohs79 Gankutsuou is worse. I refuse to believe any commercially-released anime has worse singing than Gankutsuou. I mean, he doesn't even hit his note! In the full song, he sings a high note three times, misses it TWICE, and the TV-edited version uses one of the verses where he misses the note! Literally at the highest, most dramatic point of the song, he sings off-key.

I actually kind of like this song. >_>
