13:00 at the first second i thought this is a good idea (the people should own the business...) but then i realised that the average human is not very smart (iq of 100 and you know that this isn´t a absolut value but it gives you an idea about the ability of people to think and solve problems)
and per definition half of the population is even dumber than that... and therefor i´m not shure if i want "the people" to have anything to say
The KGB was reated to break counter-revolution by the right, and to maintain iinternal Bolshevik domination over the Soviet government. The original Soviet was a multi-party representative parliament of different socialist groups; the struggle against counter-revolution was the rationale for closing the political system.
Yeah business cooperatives funded with public seed money would probably work and considerably even out wealth disparities. The closest example I know of is the Mondragon Corporation from Spain. A general manager there earns no more than 5 times what the minimum earner makes. This cooperative is huge and pretty successful employing about 85,000 people with 14.7 billion euros in revenue.
In regards to NASA employing people to build the moon lander. It was my understanding that NASA subcontracted almost every aspect of the manufacturing process. And that in turn, these companies were able to use NASA facilities and hardware to build/test the components.
I say this because the Apollo capsules were built by Rockwell's space division, in Downey, CA. NASA/NACA were mostly there to help military industrial manufacturers, no?
As of details. Lets say 10% of profit goes to employees. 10% is guaranteed. If we hire somebody new we have to share this 10% between more people.
Decisions are made by vote. If SEO goes craze with some decision - employees can stop him. Initiative is also possible. Forum is open.
From what I can predict - direct democracy in companies should work. But everyone have to participate in both - profits and loses. Also everyone have to have one vote and have to listen to majority.
There is counter balance to reach - unions. If you combine unions with participation (in profit and responsibilities) you may have optimized cooperation.
I'm not sure if Nick was using the little shoe store as a metaphor for Capitalism. I think he was basically trying to establish “a quanta of truth”, or “a foundation” (using your own words from little kitty videos), is the young lad entitled to a share of the profits after agreeing to take the job for agreed salary?
