...but it fails as any from of strider sequel.

....if u.s gold had re-named the game to make it non-strider related, then it'd be better. (and the cover art could be cahnged aswell.

I remember playing the first stage and taking it back to funcoland the next day and got streets of rage now that's a game that still to this day is aging well. Even the guy in the store said I had a feeling you'd be bringing it back.

Doesn't even feel like the same game. The characters got a cut and paste job into painfully uninspired levels.

capcom had no participation on this so tiertex had to change strider's name to distribute the game

The saving grace of this game is the music and that's it.

The game is boring, and you can't forget that is from the SAME producer of 'Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade', where you can be killed by SHALLOW WATER, BONES and many other cheap reasons...

This game brings back painful memories. As a kid I begged for this game when it came out after playing the arcade version of the first Strider game. . Needless to say this version it terrible when compared to that. With no internet to research the game I was doomed from the start.

What the fuck is wrong with you people? This game isn't that bad as what most people says. You can go to the options menu to switch your weapon. Someone needs to play the NES version. Now that game sucked.

This game was pretty mediocre.

It played hella-slow and the levels were bland as hell.

Some of the music was cool, though, and the voice samples were great.

Still, it doesn't come close to Strider 1

I believe this was like a European sequel to Strider or something; change some crap around and turn it into crap, add a damsel in distress, etc. Of course, people despised it.

Capcom's only involvement in this piece of shit was the handing of the liscense over to U.S. Gold (what a mistake).

Strider 2 (the TRUE sequel) completely ignores this game, and for good reason.

U.S. Gold made ports from Amiga games, including this one. The end result were crappy games that would have made ACCLAME facepalm.

It is underrated. It should be ripped on *more* for being a crappy "sequel" no one wanted. I would have been happier waiting 10 years for Strider 2 rather than play a game that couldn't even beat the NES version of Strider in terms of controls, graphics, and gameplay that was called "Strider Returns". And if this isn't Hiryu, then how can he "return"?
