  • yess thanks it worked

  • try my latency fix out, think you might be surprised. /watch?v=4VTmWCWqD7M

  • WoW dude tnx for help !!! my warcraft 3 and WoW is working 100% clear !!! (and it was laggy and disconcteing every time) what the hell it do that it work so well ??

  • This is to help packet dispersal within your OS. This is not a fix if your network sucks or your computer is infected with a virus/Trojan. Packets are bits of information transmitted over the internet and when there is something missing, regularly your computer will take a bit longer trying to re-downloading. Using this registry value tells your computer that if the packet is not labeled as important, then to pass it up. Its the difference from a jerky screen and one that just skips a bit.

  • Down - 8851 kbps

    Up - 801 kbps

    Latency - 98 ms

    Are the values good/bad?

  • @TheRonskiponski the values are good. for DSL those speeds are unheard of so I'll assume you are on medium-tier cable (10 MB?) 8.8 kbps = 8.6 MB download. / 0.8kbps = 0.65 MB upload speed. not bad. the up could be faster...but you don't need that unless you are a youtube video uploader or something. 98ms latency means it takes less than a tenth of a second to 'chat' with a distant device'. anything under 100 is fine for FPS gaming.

  • 5.57 Mbps 1.25 Mbps good?

  • @Kansho555 5 is good for average DSL. not good for cable.

  • @Warrwench im using wireless

  • @Kansho555 a wire always makes things considerably faster. if wireless is your only option, then 5 is not bad at all. it could be much worse. there are DIY (do it yourself) projects all over the internet that show you how to cheaply boost reception of wireless signal as well as how to amplify the signal from the source. NetGear makes some pretty nice wireless modems now too that are designed with today's high speed internet in mind.

  • It was a good viedo

  • nothing happened

  • is 35 ms good?

  • @shtkiller yup

  • Is this thing real or fake ?

  • @CrazyMax55 sorry it took so long to reply. it's real.

  • @Warrwench

Well I tried it but it did not work it became extremely laggy.

  • mine is 600 its better but not good

  • @omgtristan223 600 ms?? or 600 kbps? if it's 600 ms I'd try to get my isp to re-route me unless you tested during peak hours. never test during peak hours. peak hours is roughly from the time people start getting home from school/work in the evening/late afternoon in your part of the world. 600 sounds gnarly...

  • @Warrwench its fixed now i figured out my cable box thing was already a router so technicly we had 2 routers

  • @omgtristan223 right on :) that would have drove me nuts....heh.

  • @omgtristan223 right on :) that would have drove me nuts....heh.

  • Srsly it just got twice as fucking laggy. Cant even move now FML Thnx

  • @glitz1001 then undo the new value (delete it) and restart your cpu.

  • This didt help at all

  • i'm sorry i couldn't help :(

  • ok my download and upload speed was about 3.9 i dont think thats good. my latency is hell. i think i need something more to help if anyone can help me please. thanks

  • it keeps saying "error cannot make new value" please help

  • my ping got bigger ... fucker :((((

  • didnt change a thing for me

  • Comment removed

  • Just reduced my WoW latency from over 200 to under 80. Thanks!

  • @MightyEide nice improvement! welcome! ^^ Game On!

  • Improved my ms by at least 100. Thank you very much.

  • @anorexea1 sorry i didnt see this sooner. youre most welcome :)

  • cool

  • there are two folders with the DHCPipaddress, and theyre exactly the same, do i just pick one or should i create the thing on both folders???

  • @MrBustaah one should be named 'current control set' and usually the top folder is the one most recently being used...therefore is the active folder you want to edit.

right now mine says current control set, control set 001, control set 002 etc etc.

current control set is the one i am using as i type right now. control set 001 is the one i was using before this one. etc etc. hope this helps :)

  • got from 100 to... 95

  • @bendy660 well u cant expect it to drop u down 100 from 100 ahahhaha RETARDKID

  • i can't find a folder in the interface with my ip address, ive seen some with just Adress and some saying dhcp address, do those work? im using windows7 btw

  • @MrBustaah you want the one that sayd DhcpIpAddress

    dhcp ip address

  • i can't find a folder in the interface with my ip address, ive seen some with just Adress and some saying dhcp address, do those work?

  • i can't find a folder in the interface with my ip address, ive seen some with just Adress and some saying dhcp address, do those work?

  • Thanks!

  • @iMarkzorz you're welcome and thank you! :)

  • its not workin for me :(

  • @boneboy767 dangit! i'm sorry it's not. in case this made it worse (on the offchance) you can just delete the new registry entry you made, then restart internet again.

  • went from 450-500 ms to about 200-300 ms THX MAN

  • @dragonoth87 excellent! I'm glad this still has a use. ^_^

    yw and ty!

  • I got 200 to 50...THX BRO: D

  • @captinzig sweet! youre welcome and thank you :)

  • Note from Warrwench: i really appreciate the input you folks have given me. It makes doing stuff like this totally worth it! Game on!

    Ww

  • @Jeffboy00 im glad it worked. most welcome :) as always..make sure and share it with those it may help as well..please! and thank you!

  • dudeee thanks you soo much, my latency went from 1200ms to 315ms!!!!

  • @MatiBtodo14 very nice! 1200 ms would have me climbing up the wall! narf.....glad it helped :)

  • That's a HUGE improvement dude. Congratulations.

I recommend using a service such as WTFast MatiBtodo14 is you wish. You can lower your latency from around 315 to around 150. You will notice the difference.

  • @4543563 very nice and thank YOU! :)

  • No problem.

    Use this link people, wtfast(dot)compromote.aspxAPID=178

It will take you directly to the WTFast website. If skeptical about the security of the service, see this WoW Forum link and see the bottom of this

Glad to help. - (Remove the (dot) and put the . there instead) Thanks.

  • dude , i see my friends moving like pictures, i wanto to set default mi pc how do i do that? thanks

  • @parksplit if you do as i have prescribed in the video, it WILL be the default if you only use one internet connection. If i were you i would go into my game's graphic settings and turn everything down low...especially anything that says: 'shader', 'bloom', 'flare', 'LOD/level of detail', turn down max draw distance, lower particle count, get rid of environmental stuff like clouds, grass, rain etc. this will free up some video ram for you.

  • hi, i did what u did :p , i have freezer in desk c:/ , when i reset my computer, will it be erase?, if not how can i erase that, i mean set to default, ty

  • @parksplit if you are meaning to undo what was done with this fix, then you can simply open regedit again and delete the new dword value that you added, then reset your internet connection by disabling then enabling it. A computer restart will not remove this registry entry.

  • Thanks Dude! i havent tested it in WoW yet but i did a test and it from 140 to 93!

  • @zackld14 most welcome! glad to hear that it still works and is beneficial :) ...PLEASE!...pass it on! :)

  • OMG!!!!! it lowered my MS all THE WAY DOWN im sitting at 0!!!! dude i love you so much!!! you rock!

  • @deathboy960 Very Cool! glad to be of help :) make sure and pass it on to others who can benefit!

  • @deathboy960 u r fuckin stupid

  • mine latency is still at 6k latency but thanks for trying

  • @steppets101 darn! i wonder why that is? that sounds like dial-up. get a new service provider. if you can in your area...

  • Got my in-game MS from 190 to 60 by doing this, thanks.

  • @Berklar You're welcome! PLEASE...pass it on! :) Ww

  • i went from 150-200 to 70 and under, thx bro

  • @DBZSlayer sweet! most welcome and i hafta thank the guy that found this in the 1st place...whoever he was.... pass it on! :)

  • @gentgent1

You cannot get banned for this AT ALL. There is absolutely NOTHING wrong with doing this, it's NOT cheating WHATSOEVER.

ALL it does is make your computer acknowledge each packet sent to you each time it receives one when the default is that it acknowledges them every few packets so there's less "traffic" going back and forth to be "efficient" which, it really IS more efficient that way, BUT for gaming, it is not.

  • i havent heard of anyone getting banned for this. maybe theyre using a cheat program that does this and more...?

  • HOLY Crap, this helped my internet speed by 9 mgbs!!!!

  • Thanks man! My ping before in WoW was about 270, now it's 65-80 :)

  • @jojokaxx sweetness! it REALLY makes a difference when you are pvp'ing in a main city or when horde and alliance clash.

( also makes a helluva difference if you cut down on certain visaul elements during raids)

  • @endo no..please learn basic network management knowledge then talk

  • Thx so much man. wow wasnt working for like a week then i did this now it works perfect like it did before my latency is 62. When it lagged it was like 4k to 6k.

  • UPDATE FOR WIN7 USERS!!! I just installed win7 Ultimate (64 bit version) and ran the tracert right off the bat and my ping times are as low as it was in vista with this enabled...meaning you do NOT need to do this tweek for win7. It seems to already have been done properly for once! yay!

  • I am using Win 7 32 Bit and after doing this my latency has improved over 30%. Just my experience.

  • This this is a cosmetic effect only. Programs use a different data packet type to determine your latency. Normal data for say games uses your TCP or UDP packets. This regedit just decreases the measured latency by scooping the type of packets used to test latency more frequently. This gives a result that is faster than what your normal data packets are actually running at. This will actually increase lag because more ack cycles per second = more TCP and UDP interrupts and overhead.

  • sweet...thnx

  • you dont NEED to write the ip down..but you do want to know what it is in case there are multiple directories for user connections. each time you go wireless..change isp's etc....your OS creates a new registry entry for that setting. it's that current setting that we are wanting to change.

  • ok soo i did all that but why did i need to write down my IP adress the regedit thing had an IP adress but it wasnt the same and it didnt change

  • egad i am a dork! i just found out i can reply on individual comments instead of leaving a broad comment in this column. time to make use of it. you dont need to write the ip...but its good to know it in case you have multiple directories for your network settings...aka cable = network 1, adsl = network 2, wireless = network 3 etc etc....were only worried about the network we are using now..the current internet connection.

  • 38ms. Good internet speed. anything under 50 and you got nothing to complain about. download/upload speeds in excess of 8 down and 6 up are good.

Attn: Second Lifers: multi-core users need to set sl.exe and voice.exe to different cores via taskmanager in windows. not using windows? sorry...cant help you.

  • Why anything above 730 upload and you'll scream? I just did this and my download was at 10693, upload at 1423 and 38ms. Would someone like to tell me how terrible mine is? (Prev at 8k download / 41ms)

  • from 8k/41 ms to 10k/38 ms is a slight performance increase..which means its a bit more responsive...a bit faster.

  • in reference to the previous post: i still 100% support Logitech....just...quit being retards and recall the wireless G7 from store shelves and destroy whatever has already been built for sales. And offer to replace the crap G7's with the current model (dont make me google it) i bet you'll increase your customer loyalty.....

  • WARNING!!! the Logitech Wireless G7 is one of the biggest POS on the market. if you use it you will suffer gaming performance loss. it is such a POS im surprised theyre not being sued for still selling it. it is sold with knowledge of its defects...its up to you to decide if you want to deal with them or not...in spite of not telling you that..

  • you hafta rename it ....

    TcpAckFrequency

then right click it and change value to 1

  • hi pls can u tell me in what to rename pls bed eng

  • thanks !

  • thanks. This works for vista as well. People just need to unplug their internet then plug it back in. In stead of going into menus to reset the connection.

  • you can also right click it int he system tray and diagnose connection and make it refresh it. at the time i originally did this TUT...Vista was taboo and no one had it xD

  • I just did this and I don't know why it does anything, but it works, 15.88 mb/s down 10.14 up 23 ms, comcast cable. Thanks.

  • Warr checkin in. giome..sorry i didnt catch that. let me know if it got resolved. you too sexyheaven70. mitchblack1588....this should work for dial...but mind you the speed your starting with is so slow that you wont notice much difference.

  • will this work on dileup ?

  • Yeah doesnt work for me either still have the same ping

  • I have done this trick 3 times totally corectly and i still hae 700 ms and I can't login. I am like: Arh i am quitting wow

  • Works great. I boosted my from 4mb to 11mb/s. Thanks very much =)

  • Warr checking in here. I just realized something, that at the time i made this video, i was using AT&T DSL, and it was like 3MB download. And my average ping was 35-ish. Now i am using suddenlink cable and even though it is way more unstable, my ping times are more like 25 on 'normal' tests. that is to say...from 8am-8pm pacific time. I just wanted to note that So, as far as i can tell this doesnt really affect cable and certainly doesnt hurt it. -Warr

  • Bellsouth...smells like AT&T...they really should not be in business anymore. Outdated IMO.

Still lagging in WoW.....of course...you can't expect much from less than 5MB for on-demand games. which is to say..warcraft happens in 'realtime' as it is compiled. if you are slower than your opponent due to less bandwidth, it means you will die alot.

I suggest beefing up your internet by increasing your bandwidth...like...get a better plan.

  • i did it but im still lagging in wow...and i have a 2mb internet connection and a linksys gateway system please help.thx.

  • works great. thanks

  • to you warcraft guys: Buy a cable connection or quit. DSL guilds cannot compete with cable guilds. simple..dares anyone to argue and be made fool of. if youre using AT&T i have no sympathy for you.

  • I have Bellsouth Internet service...is that th worst one?

  • to disable internet goto start>control panel>internet/network connections. in there you will see...a few different options ...on 90% of various systems you get 1394 connection and Local Area Network.... but the ONE youre looking for is LAN . disable then re-enable that one and your connection is refreshed.

  • How do i desable my internet i dont have that file that he click?

  • 1-8-09 still on the same system as in this video.

    It's a 3.3 GHz Pentium 4 with 2x1GB Corsair memory on a Intel Ausburg 915G mobo ..800FSB..

    ATI x1950 Xfire 512 MB vid card..Win XP x64

just did a tracert to a san francisco server...and my latency is 27ms peak. I have a supposedly 10MB cable connection. Well...even for 10 meg...27ms kicks butt. heh.

hey everyone...I'm still alive. I'm busy in SL but I still get an occasional comment in my email. i'll come by and help out as i can ^^

    Ww

  • ok...still at dword/qword. DWORD for sure. ok..since y2K..ok...cool...and who the heck are you..? on to next post..tcpip is there. if not youre in the wrong folder. back up one root/level and try again. also, make sure you open the top or current control set folder if there are multiple options on 'control set'

  • alright ive been away awhile and im back...been in secondlife. ok...scanning from the bottom....4.47MB or 447kbps...is okay for low-mid DSL. to fix it..contact your isp after the 'usual steps'. DWORD, not QWORD. dword value of 1. Blizzard CANNOT disable this. propoganda. go back to your horde guild.

  • 447kbps is it good or bad and how do i fix it

  • no point using this.. blizzard disabled it.

  • @Moonface00z hurr cuz it has to do with blizzard, dont even remember the video having to do with that company

  • Hi! I am using Vista 64, when trying to create a New key, it lists both DWORD(32bit) and QWORD(64bit) which one should I use?

  • dude, listen to the tutorial. he says it cleearly

  • He is using Windows XP. For Vista users(64bit systems)) both DWORD(32bit) and QWORD(64bit) show up.

If you look closely, you will see that only DWORD shows up on he's, which is not my case. That is why I am asking for help.

  • and what about vista 32 bit then?

  • well i got vista 32 bit and i see QWORD and DWORD but i dunno which one to choose.

  • i know this is way late...but DWORD would still apply. im on vista now and the same thing still applies.

  • This thing helps alot!

  • my tcpip isnt there what do i do

  • I know you said this was for WoW, but do you think this would help with MapleStory? I live in a rual area, so my ADSL is not that fast.

  • Ye, will work for lots of games.

  • What is lateancy like lag or somthin?

  • Pwnt i lowered my ping by 100 and got like 15-20mbit/s more than before this guide pwns ty

  • I ran the PCpitstop test before and after this and here are my results:

    BEFORE:

    Down: 20,253

    UP:3,572

    AFTER:

    Down: 20,753

    Up: 3,941

It is a slight improvement, but an improvement none the less. It's oddly simple to do and takes less than a minute or two. Thanks for the advice!

  • Don't do this.

Yes it lowers your latency... That's what you think, but it DOSN'T.

It just gives a reading of lower latency when really it is just the same. You will still lagg just as much as you always have.

I have just deleted the DWORD file i created a while ago. I was getting readings of 5 MS/latency when clearly it was higher.

  • did i mention this does not work on dial up? or was your latency fine and its time to do a registry cleanup, clean your ram sticks, delete unnecessary files and do a general cleanup?

maybe you couldnt see the improvement cause youre clogged.

  • maybe not internet 5ms/s is good maybe virus in comp?

  • pls can you list down the steps in your comments..i'm hardly hear your voice..pls tnx

  • step one: know your ip. step 2: goto start>run> and type in 'cmd' without the 's. when it opens the black screen type regedit. follw the pathway i have listed above in the vid all the way down to interfaces and find the one that has your ip in it. click over on the right like i do and create a new DWORD value. name it TcpAckFrequency. then right click and change its value to 1 as in the vid. then go diable/re-enable your internet connection via connections.

  • Go to run, type in cmd and type ipconfig.

  • will this work on vista i sure hope so cause im stuck with it :(

  • i did this thing to reduce latency and it didnt work but i disconnect mroe than often now any idea how to remove it please?

    thank you vm

  • to remove it go back into the same folder you created it in and delete it. then reset your internet and youre good to go.

  • you dont have to go to the site. i just like to give folks a chance to see their internet before and after at that website.

either way make sure you disable then enable again your internet connection.

  • wait do i have 2 put that internet place, or can i just go 2 youtube?

  • Excuse, and what site for check?

  • TY!

i checked my latency before i did this and 1 after.

    before

latency 42, download speed was nearly 2200, upload speed was nearly 990.

    after

latency 29, download speed 3700 exact., and upload speed exactly 1018.

    THANKS A LOT!!!

  • sweet! that what im talking about. this really does work. youre welcome =)

  • hey warcrafters...there is some dude copying our videos and using them to advertise a more-than-likely malicious website. please report him for infrigement/phishing if you see any of his x40G videos.

  • What's tracert? What does it do?

  • tracert is a trace-route and it lets you see the pathway your computer uses to connect to a specific site. it lets you see all the server hops and shows you your time in Ms so you can see where youre hitting the 'bottleneck'.

its also a good utility in that it will let you prepare a report to send to your isp so they can see what the problem is too.

  • i tried to help my friend do this, but every time we do the pcpitstop thing, he comes up with different results everytime? got any clue why it does that?

  • may be a combo of things. do you have a fluctuating internet shield/antivirus program such as avast or avg? you can specify the services..you dont need email protect or updating running while youre gaming or on a friendly site. try getting your isp to manually reset the your DNS cache and power cycling your cpu/modem/router and then turn them back on in this order: modem-router-cpu

  • What ISP do you have? I have Verizon High Speed DSL... I think.

  • ips here is suddenlink 10meg cable....but i run a tracert and see that i connect to at&t servers and that is where im losing alot of speed. at&t has no business trying to provide internet.

  • Thanks a lot Warwench, you rock!!! My download speed is now 2879kbps, my ping is 21ms, and my upload speed is now 734kbps. I also watched a video that said if you delete WoW patches, your latency in WoW will improve. Is this true?

  • i saw the vid on deleting the wow patches and i went and looked at the WoW program/file infrastructure and i can at least say that it will not hurt your gaming experience in any way. might be worth a shot.

  • some guy on wow told me about this (darkspear realm) and he said that ur a good friend of his, well thanks 4 posting this, my latency went from 180 to 80 on wow, thx

  • youre welcome =)

this is my 1st tutorial video and ive alot to learn about presentation, but im extremely pleased that ive at least done this one to where it's understandable. as ive said, this works for all internet...i found how to do this on youtub e originally but couldnt find it again so i made my own easy to find video =)
