  • This is strange. If two homosexuals want to live together and do what married people do, then what's stopping you? Why do you need the government to give you permission? I'm married to a woman, and I WISH I wouldn't have had to go to the government for them to give me PERMISSION to marry the woman I love. This should not be a political issue. This is just a power grab and an issue of division to distract from all these illegal wars and the criminal federal reserve.

  • @spktruthinlove "and I WISH I wouldn't have had to go to the government"

You didn't have to. If you hadn't....you might have a point, but you did.

    You made a choice.

Gays would also like to make that choice.

If you would like to restrict marriage to a church ceremony, then do so. But, until that happens only full equality is fair.

  • @spktruthinlove Exactly! what mittons does not get is that most of us Dont care, cause IT ABSOLUTELY DOES NOT AFFECT US

  • Pink Hand

  • The guy with the $300 haircut is gayer.

  • I'M NOT FOR GAYS SAME RIGHTS IN ALL THINGS " BUT I DO THINK THAT YOU CAN GIVE YOUR RETIREMENT MONEY TO WHO EVER YOU WANT " WIFE OR FRIEND " THAT'S YOUR MONEY " DOG WHAT YOU WILL "

  • I Support The Troops %100 no matter what. I respect you sir.

  • Another bad day for "Mixed up Mitt."

  • Mitt Romney's response to the veteran basically indicated that the the US Constitution isn't relevant to modern societal issues. If the Constitution only applied to issues that were relevant at that time, then it would be worthless today. I think Romney should rethink his justification for bigotry and discrimination. It's only a matter of time until all 50 states recognize marriage equality. Love it or hate it, it will become legalized in our lifetime. Personally, I think it's long over due.

  • This is the bottom line: my parents were married over 20 years. For 15 they hated each other; for the last 5, they didn't even live in the same state. My mom (Dad was Airforce) gets 50% of the his pension and full health benefits. This man's lawful husband, who actually loves him and lives as his true spouse, deserves no less. In fact, this vet's marriage is a lot more sacred than my parents' ever was! (Don't get me wrong, I love my folks, just not together)

  • he was honest, he answered the question, some people duck the questions. Of course his aided was getting a little bit flustered. He should get rid of him, or reassign him

  • "I guess the question was too hot." NO- the answer wasn't what you wanted to hear, that's all.

  • Marriage is a relationship between a man and a woman. I agree with Romney; when the Constitution was written IT WAS UNDERSTOOD that marriage was defined as such. If this veteran was concerned that his spouse receive military benefits, then he should have married a woman!

  • @lammish

The constitution was written in a time when human biology & sexuality was not understood & their was big gaps in knowledge on the subject due to limitations of 18th century science, Even so their is no grounds to deny gay marriage in the constitution & plenty of grounds to leave it as a states issue..

  • @Obasiliasfilosofos

Well, as who one ascribes to biblical authority on the subject, I would argue that the issues of sexuality and marriage were settled well before the 18th century, long, long ago.

  • @lammish

If you want to follow the standards set by your own religions convictions do so,but stop forcing it onto your fellow citizens who have their own faith & creed, Gay marriage will not adversely effect you in anyway way..

  • @lammish I assume you believe that men should have multiple wives then. After all, polygamy is the prevelent model of marriage in your holy book. And don't forget to avoid shellfish at all costs! It is an abomination!

  • @heathenbear

Uh, no I don't believe in polygamy. From the beginning (read Genesis), YHWH ordained that man and woman should cleave together and become one flesh. Polygamy, although practiced, was clearly against His plan for marriage. This is reiterated in the New Testament as well. Polygamy is not the "prevalent model" in the Bible -marriage is to be between one man and one woman.

  • @TheMango121

Our service members don't choose their missions, the voters do. I think what you mean to say is "thank you for your service." Next time you use your right to free speech, you may wish to consider who is protecting that right for you. Agreeing with the government is entirely different from supporting our troops and our veterans.

  • @benisacoolguy1479

The voters choose? ARE YOU KIDDING ME?

    Vietnam was based on propaganda

Iraq war based on lies and aggression

Korean war... Uh why were we there again? Oh yea.. COMMUNISM (so skeered)

I support our troops! I just don't understand HOW these people get suckered into fighting OBVIOUSLY worthless wars of AGGRESSION. I'm sure this man was drafted, so he kinda gets a pass.

When Americans WAKE THE FUCK UP and start to DISTRUST their government, the better off we will be.

  • @TheMango121

I respect your opinion and am glad that you support our troops. Also, the voters elect the people controlling the troops, therefore, they (albeit indirectly) control what battles our government chooses to fight. I also agree with you that people in general need to stop being so aggressive.

  • @benisacoolguy1479

they may vote the politicians in come election day, How many actually campaigned on war & were up front about it to the voters, The real truth is the people have little say & the media has always been two faced always waiting conveniently until the bombs have already been dropped & the fighting has already started before the men upstairs finally permit their newsrooms below to say boo , the free press is not about the truth its about the money.

  • @Obasiliasfilosofos

I agree completely, my overall point was that a person shouldn't take out their anger towards politicians and the media on our service members.

  • @benisacoolguy1479

I thought they elected Obama to end these wars? Well how is that working our for civil libertarians/liberals these days?

I hardly believe that government give two fucks about where they send us, regardless if they campaign as a peace candidate or not.

  • @TheMango121

I've given up talking about politics for advent.

  • “Who’s married and who isn’t married. I have my standards but I shouldn’t have to impose my standards on others. Other people have their standards and they have no right to impose their marriage standards on me.”

    - Ron Paul

  • and you wonder why the government hates us. we trick them, they trick us, it's all so tricky

  • Ron Paul...duh....

  • I'm to tired of veterans crying about "BLAH BLAH BLAH I SERVED MY COUNTRY".

Listen motherfuckers. The military hasn't protected the United States since WW2. Every war since then has been based on lies and complete bullshit.

  • @TheMango121

And how would you feel if your life was put on the line for the cause of lies and complete bullshit. I'd be even more aggrivated.

  • @TheMango121 Completely agree. As soon as suckers stop volunteering to fight bankers wars under the guise of serving our country the sooner we can get our country back.

  • @Meathead36

The problem is, There's a sucker born every minute,

If you want to fight the system, It's fruitless to rely on politicians, If you hate the banks stop using them and if you hate the fiat money stop using them, Can't stand the "fed" playing world cop with your money support succession!

  • The only reason we are even having this debate is because of the income tax. In order to have an income tax, the government must be intrusive into your lives and figure out whom you are married to. If taxes were on expenditures, you would not have to worry about telling the government anything. Why is insurance given on a marriage basis? Why not have a collective basis (being part of a group)? Like as a veteran can give insurance to any one person you want, like family members who really need it

  • I agree with Romney on this topic.

  • @MsSimpleLife Then you're a bigoted piece of shit, too.

  • fuck rommeny he works for goldman sachs and the crooks for wall street another puppet left and right are the same fuck them both sides and gay rights can go to hell like this whole earth is going 4 more years until the earth is destroy prepare urself

  • I just gained alot more respect for Romney.

  • @Meathead36 /facepalm Yes because the government controlling who you can and can't marry is perfectly fine....

  • @Isaidhi7 I follow the Constitution. As long as these dudes stick exactly to it, like Romney did here I'm fine with that.

  • @Meathead36 The Constitution doesn't say Gay people can't get married. What you and Romney are doing is implying that it says that when it really doesn't say anything about it. I just don't see why two people who are happy and love each other can't get married.

  • @Meathead36 Then you don't understand the Constitution.

  • @Meathead36 Fellow bigot?

  • @BillA1016 No sir, I follow the constitution based on God's laws.

  • @Meathead36 Ah, of course. I forgot that the US is a theocracy. No American law, even from the Founding Fathers, says anything about separation of church and state.

Do yourself a favor and buy an American history book. The US does NOT make laws based on ANY religious premise.

  • @BillA1016 Understand where your inalienable rights come from sir. Hint: it's not from man. This is the premise behind your constitution. It's not even up for debate.

  • @Meathead36 Why should any of my rights be based on the values of a religious figure that I believe (read: know) is a myth? We do NOT use religion to make laws. It's illegal and unconstitutional. If I want to marry a man, you cannot use God to say I can't, because his reality only exists for Christians, not all of us.

  • @BillA1016 You have summed up the reason for the decline of western society nicely. The founding fathers recognized that without guiding morality from a source higher than man, the country would be nothing. This is why God has been strategically removed from the US and so have your rights and morality. You may not believe in God, but not supporting the premise behind having inalienable rights via a Creator is foolish. Your argument is based on this. Even if you win, you lose.

  • @Meathead36 You need to take a class in American history. You really do. And you also need to take a class in sensitivity because you are, in fact, a bigot.

  • @BillA1016 Go ahead sir and "do as thou wilt". Don't let people like me stop you.
