i have checked out all the backpacks at dicks sporting goods and i think im just going to get a military pack at a pawn shop instead they seem to be better and made out of better material cool vid
haha yeah but without us white bread you wouldnt have any where to live since we pay for your check in the mail every month. speak real english althou cant think much of you since you live in the middle of fucking no where. and by the way. go fuck ya self.
this guy is a douche, f you want real advice go buy one of Tom Brown Jr's field guides or subscribe to wilderness outdoor archery that guy knows his stuff!!
go with shovel pick. Of course this all depends on your needs. I always like to be prepared. This guy will not save you!! Pick up one of Tom Brown Jr's field guides to survival. build off of that!!
my kits fine . i use this guy .along with wildernessoutfitters and nutnfancy i have no problem with this guy hes very informative and watching this video has made me upgrade my kit alot more.
Have you ever thought of learning to survive with what nature provides? That is my ultimate goal. There is nothing wring with keeping a kit, I have several. What would happen if you lost your kit though? What would you do? Give me a shout back on my page bro, I am really interested!!
Also, The straps on the outside of the pack that holds the top pocket are meant to carry a sleeping bag and any other thing you can get on them. I use a Military Surplus half tent that you can fit on the straps. Just making some suggestions for your connivence.
I use a Medium Alice pack I was issued when I went to Air Force camp ( when I was 12, I am 13 now). I don't have the frame anymore, but it works great if you use a sweat shirt lining the back. I also use ammo cans to carry A a little survival kit just in case. I also keep anything that cant get wet.
I was in Us Marine Corp 2001 2006 and personaly I think the alice pack was the best out of all the new packs we have now in the millitary, that thing was a mule.
Ps keep up the good work been enjoying your vids for a while now!
They're kind of expensive but the SPEAR UM21 backpack system is beyond awesome for anything from backpacking to a SHTF scenario. Special forces relies on them constantly and for good reason.
if you guys are wanting to get a new pack. try ultralight. i just got my new jam2 pack in the mail, it's made by golite. and i don't know how heavy your pack is. but all of my gear with food is usualy 9-15lbs.
I made a switch from ALICE to a UTG marpat ppack. ITS AWSOME, I got everything I had in a med. alice into it and then some. It distrbutes the weight so good it doesnt feel as heavy and it is reallhy comfortable. The camo looks good, its durable and overall a very nice pack. Cost around $70 off of ebay, but I have seen them cheaper. They come in Blk, marpat, acu, od and tan. Check them out I think you will like the results.
Wouldnt you want your tent to be on the top of your pack? If it starts raining when/after you get to your camp everything will be wet then youll finaly get you tent. just something to think about :)
Instead of a tent dig out a section 1 1/2 foot deep and the length of you body. Make a fire in this hole let burn burn burn and then cover it with dirt and sleep on it. Wear thermals. This will free up heaps of space in your pack. Do not apply in snow conditions.
he could on average travel 5 to 10 more miles a day and still fill the fatige from the old school ruck the remeber digs into your kidneys and lower back no matter how you pack it specially after a five mile hike....... a properly molle setup will never fail you
the rubber carpet padding replace it with dryer lint.
toddianuzzi are you nuts man you hated it when they issued the molle???please man...I will never rid of my old school ruck plain and simple .but untill you properly setup a molle ruck you are a 110% more mobile with it then a old ruck plain and simple and no one can argue it no matter what you come with a complaint about ill prove you wrong every time.the biggest complaint is that the frame will crack and break simple it is called misused equipment.if this guy used a molle set he
yep, there about 40 bucks on ebay too, for a nice condition used, be aware that there are cheap knockoffs, which are usually shinnier, and "threadier"
Hmmm??? You might wanna consider taking the sleeping bag out of the pack, put it on top underneath thoses straps. This will make room in your pack for a change of clothing. All in all not a bad start. I like your one man tent.
he probably has one of those packs where there is access from the bottom
when you are going on a big hike, you do place light stuff like a sleeping bag at the bottom with the heavy stuff against your back using something padded to cushin it and medium weight, bukier stuff at the top
Have you thought about an alcohol stove? They are so much lighter and take up much less space and still do the job. Fuel is also readily available. Stove I like a lot is the trangia burner or one of the mini bull design stoves. Cheers!
I have a question about knives. When sharping what diamond sharpener should i get, a fine, and a course sharpener or thought too plus a extra fine and extra course or should i not waste my money on the extra fine and course?
If you need a cheap pair of nylon backpacking shorts just go out and buy a pair of swim trunks and completely cut out the liner. Try and get one with a lot of pockets with Velcro. Its cheap and it works, I used it while backpacking in the mountains of New Mexico.
What kind of bag do you use for your poncho liner? Is it a Coghlan's brand? Thanks, good video.

Dryer lint is the shat when it comes to tinder. It weighs nothing, it compresses, and you can hardly do any better when it comes to easy lighting.
