Star Soldier R Five Minute Mode Gameplay

Star Soldier is a pretty common N64 game. You can find it just about anywhere for $10.

Why can you only do 5-min mode and 2-min mode?

You pretty much end up playing 10 games of the 5 minute mode and then maybe 5 more of the 2 minute mode, etc. There is no "whole game" to speak of, but it's kind of like a entire game crammed into 5 minutes. You have to be into figuring out how to score higher, I guess.

The game costs $8. I got it yesterday and it is good!  Very addictive. It's more intense than it looks! I'll bet a lot of people don't buy it though, because of that warning when you go to download it.

I'm not sure if it specifically said "warning" or not, but it has a screen that says something like "this game only consists of a two minute and five minute mode". It just kind of makes you want to back out of the transaction, since no other game has precautionary things right before you buy them.

just because its a birds eye view scroller game doesnt mean its bad. thats a pretty bad assumption, its like saying a game EXACTLY like super mario is bad just because its made like an old 2D sidescroller. if u played either of the old star soldier games u realize why this one was made. star soldier vanishing earth on the 64 was fucking awesome and id still play it today

I just saw this game and I have 1000 points left. I'm stuck between buying this gyrostarr, star soldier r, and prothea. Which one should I get. They all look so similar so I need some advice from someone who has played one of them. Are any of the any good? Need advice/please respond. Thanks.

Does the speed setting of your ship or whether or not the setting is on manual or auto have anything to do with your scoring?

The faster you are, the more destruction you can do. The more destruction you can do, the more points you can get. Also, the blast from changing speeds causes damage as well, so that could be abused for scoring opportunities (such as when you're inside the ring enemy).

Manual mode doesn't affect scoring. It just kills your fingers.

Theres a full game, other than 5 and 2 minute mode there is one above them called "game start" wich is the full game.

No...theres only the 2 minute and 5 minute modes. That Game Start bar is just left over from the first time you press A on it. Just showing what menu you're currently viewing.

Looks cool, but I don't see myself playing it in the long run. It's awesome it has leaderboards so you can at least share your score with others but that isn't my cup of tea.
