This in turn is causing an increased amount of water vapour, and a decreasing ability of the earth to absorb the carbon in the natural cycle. I really don't think there is much we can do now anyways, but it is happening champ, whether or not we can solve it is a whole nother issue.

There is no reason for small cities to turn their lights off.
Cities like Hong Kong, Shanghai, Las Vegas, Dubai, and Los angeles are the main cities that needs to turn their lights off. Also New York and Chicago. Toronto and Vancouver. Paris and London. Kuala Lumper and Singapore. Taipai, Bangkok, Tokyo, Seoul, and the rest of the other cities.

I honestly do not care whether you believe in climate change or not, but, reducing our pollution and CO2 emissions can't HURT the Earth, can it? The way I see it, is that whether it is real or not, reducing pollution isn't going to kill anyone. Besides, with all of the vehicles and crap on the road, it is adding stuff to the air that we should not breathe in, especially in cities. So, my point is, turning off your lights, or anything you are not using can only make things better.

Your an idiot mate, do some actual research. The earth does go in a lot of cycles, the problem is we are forcing CO2 into the atmosphere when it used to be a feedback mechanism. This in turn is causing an increased amount of water vapour, and a decreasing ability of the earth to absorb the carbon in the natural cycle. I really don't think there is much we can do now anyways, but it is happening champ, whether or not we can solve it is a whole nother issue.

Earth hour is shifting the attention to a NON-ISSUE. Global Warming is a scam to implement a global carbon tax. Biofuels drive up food prices and create food shortages. Energy efficient light bulbs are 1000 times worse for the environment with all the toxic mercury in them. We are in the coldest winter in over 70 years. Mars's ice caps are melting at the same rate as ours. The climate changes and that's natural. GMO and depleted uranium are the two biggest threats to our Earth. WAKE UP!!!

I would prefer the government regulating what cars can be driven. And it's going to happen, obviously. There are strict vehicle regulations all across Europe which are only going to get stricter. You're an idiot if you don't think the same will happen in North America.

Now it's global warming-because the weather has trended that way recently. Mars has also warmed in recent years as well. Is it actually possible that changes in the sun - primary source of light and energy on earth - are the cause of the recent trend? Why would you think the weather should never change? There have been extremes in the earth's weather over its existence. Reliable weather data collection is a recent development. This amount of time is but a tiny sliver of time on the earth's clock.
The way the so-called scientific 'consensus' was arrived at is highly suspect as well. 'Consensus' isn't science.

You're absolutely right, fluctuations in the sun could prompt weather changes on earth. You know what else could? Drastic increases in the atmosphere of CO2. Global warming is obviously caused by some of both these factors, along with other meteorological phenomena. Unfortunately, the only factor we can affect is that of our CO2 emissions, hence the need to reduce emissions. Understand? Nobody said consensus is science, but just because a consensus exists doesn't mean it isn't sound science. ass

The eruption and resultant ash of Mt. St Helens in Washington in 1980 had more effect on temperatures for a number of years in the western half of North America than any current allegations of the global warming hoax. Humans have very little control over the weather. Get used to it.

Explain to me how an exponential increase in CO2 wouldn't contribute to global warming. That's all you have to do. Prove all these climate change scientists wrong without having a clue what you're talking about. That's all you have to do! Good luck!
Obviously planets warm and cool by themselves, that's not the point. The point is pumping tons of CO2 into the atmosphere increases increases the output of the greenhouse effect, increasing trends to a rate they naturally wouldn't occur at. Get it?
