  • PURE BAGGY!!.....Fookin class.

  • All these years gone and I still listen to The Charlatans, man I'm old but we grew old together.

  • Charlatans >>>>>>>>>>> Oasis

  • I bought some Indie compilation to get my hands on this song

  • @Iberotimuka ...What compilation? I've been looking for this....

  • @505mlovely it was a 1991 compilation called best of indie top 20 which had the happy mondays, the farm and this was the third song, I had the tape but I left it in Bolivia in 2006, most bizarre. Have a look on Amazon, I think it is around!

  • @505mlovely it had 19 or 20 songs including The Sundays, Carter, Depeche, The Shamen, The Sugarcubes, etc

  • CLASS...

  • Which cretin disliked this?

  • Northern Ireland looooves The Charlatans!!!

  • listen come back song ever

  • take us back.. music is shit these days...

  • Oasis bores the crap out of me. Charlatans are way better, IMNSHO.

  • ID

  • brilliant !!!

  • I can't get over the Hammond solo on this song... I fucking wish I had the money for a B3...

  • If I were American I'd be on here pleading with Britain to stop producing musicians who make Yank bands look bad. Oh wait, we've done that anyway. Fucking N-Dubz and the like can fuck off. Bring me the Charlatans!

  • @bluemoonrising26 but one band that us american have that the britain can't touch is the black keys.

  • Where is the past? I thought that pretty much everything was up on Youtube. Where are the substandard variant 'Charlatans' that sounded like a poor version of the Icicle Works (themselves a poor version of Echo and the Bunnymen)? Where are the recordings of the Electric Crayons?

  • why was he so fucking stupid and was DWI? he could be alive.

  • saw them at the barras 2010 some friendly tour. you know it.

  • Rob collins on the hammond and clint

boon on the farfisa, TOP THAT. moo!

  • I always love Rob Collins's hammond style, hanging on and off the leslie switch mint!

still got the my original 1st issue on 12 inch of this song

  • wow. I bless the day I first heard them.

  • what the fuck happened to rock n roll? todays bands are utter shite by comparison. its a joke, we need a revolution!

  • i saw them play this live in glasgow 2010, though it would've been great to see Rob in action if he were still here RIP

  • rob collins was a good friend of mine sadly missed

  • great song. i've seen them live 5 ties and they have never played this- keyboards are mesmerising

  • these were the best indie days god i miss em

  • ah memories.. cant wait to see them next month..

  • ah the good old days man

  • Birmingham 1990, I was dragged along to see them and then was gob-smacked cause the bloke from Makin' Time was in the band lol

  • will always treasure this single, absolute class!

  • rob collins. total genuis!!!

  • rob collins!!! total genuis.

  • R.I.P rob collins 14 years ago today

  • Bought this single on 12" the very day it came out, Tony Wilson previewed it on Granada Reports and I went down to SoundSearch in Ashton Under Lyne the next day and bought it.

Really different to their later refined sound. I think it sounds as if they hadn't found their own style yet, were experimenting; a little but like 'Joe' by the Inspirals or 'Elephant Stone' by the Stone Roses - you can see the talent is there but just needs tweaking

  • Tried to buy this when it came out, couldn't get it anywhere! Thanks for posting.

  • (◎▲◎;) イギリスの音楽には、高度な知能が、必要なようです。

  • miss ya ROB.

  • what a fucking song.

rob collins is a maestro xxx

  • Rob Collins was a maestro - he's dead!

  • you're kidding?!

  • Ian Brown ripoff.

  • Liam Gallagher - he's a fooking Ian Brown rip off.

  • Fucking awesome performance, reminds me of being 15 again!

  • Not as amazing as the Roses or Mondays but still a very good band!

  • Tim get back to your style ...

Never mind they horrors kids !!

    Music is dead !!

    long live the 80s + early 90s

  • Cool.. that was my fifteenth birthday...

  • they have stood the test of time. unlike a lot of other bands of the same time. Please let it never end!!!!!

  • Richfields (Manchester) - Summer of 1990......

  • cool cool chicago|!!!!!!!!!!!

  • You're sooo cooool.

    We're good! Aren't we?

  • Im surprised he didnt end up with a subdural haematoma after all that head shaking.

  • In 2005, Terry Balsamo, Evanescence guitarist, incurred a stroke from headbanging.[2] There have also been cases of people incurring whiplash from headbanging such as Craig Jones of Slipknot and it is not uncommon for some to experience headaches and bloody noses as a result of headbanging.

  • Really? Wow..yeah that metal head banging looks pretty heavy going..and dangerous..i never heard of anyone dying from it though..but i can see how they could..did that guitarist have a bad stroke or was it a little one?

  • to the c**t who stole my brothers record player with this 12 inch on in 1990, im still putting bad shit in the universe to you!! going to see them in Sydney tomorrow night, have nt seen em since - 1991 maybe!! four expat lads in their late thirties reliving the past COOM ON!!!!

  • I think I saw the 12 inch at the tom tom club

  • i bought it and now use it to roll joints on :)

    thank your brother :)

  • oh pure brilliance.. never ages..

  • One the best Charlie tunes IMO

  • first record i bought, feel 14 again x

  • Man, I feel 14 again too!!!!! love it!

  • I have this 12 inch and I have played it to death for years!!

  • haha ye can interepret that in 2 ways, lol

  • If u have a durty mind which u obviously have LOL

  • que tiempos!

  • thanx for posting

this tune is one of their best

    classic!!!

  • Great tune.

Top memories from a great era.

  • i remember buying this on 12" from my local market for about £2, anyone know wot its worth now?

  • Wasn't there a first print release of about 2,000 pcs? which is supposed to be worth something. I had this on 12" too but lost it when I split up with a girlfriend in 92.

  • £100.

  • Is that what the original 12" is worth now?

  • Ahhh classic Charlies. Awesome, thanks so much for posting. I can actually hear the lyrics in this version!

  • pure class

  • This is a great song. It was haunting seeing Jon Baker and Rob Collins again. Major talents.

  • best charlatans tune in my opinion
